Semi-Noob - HTC One V

I unlocked my HTC ONE V's boot loader and then i did the needful to root my phone. I installed super SU and used root checker and it confirmed my phone as a rooted phone. Now i installed ROM manager and flashed the recovery, but when i try and enter the recovery (power + volume down...you guys know it) , it shows a red triangle and an exclamation, please help out as i want to flash before tomorrow ! ALSO IF I WANT TO REFLASH FROM ANOTHER SOURCE DO I NEED TO DELETE THE RECOVERY OR SOMETHING?

You have to manually flash it as ROM manager doesn't do the job. Go to the TWRP website and download the latest open recovery.img . then flash it using fastboot

As with any stock update, the JB update disables root access and replaces whatever recovery you have with the stock recovery.
The only way to root is with an unlocked bootloader. So:
1) Unlock your bootloader;
2) Flash CWM using fastboot;
3) Flash a superuser zip to get root;
4) Boot into Android;
5) Use a file explorer with root access to delete these files: /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and /system/recovery-from-boot.p
6) Re-flash CWM;
7) Done.

Cwm 5.8.4.5 offical [GSM VERSION NON CDMA]

Guys we now have OFFICAL CWM and Rom Manager support.
you can flash CWM from rom manager but it wont be permanent so you need to flash a recovery.img as usual
DO NOT FLASH VIA ROM MANAGER
but any roms that are for the one v and have been uploaded to rom manager, will mean we can download and flash via rom manager
CWM 5.8.4.5
CDMA USERS PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS IT WILL NOT WORK USE THIS INSTEAD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28251351#post28251351
This CWM will now be maintained by Koush, i'll just update this thread when a new version comes out.
Instructions to flash:
either use the all in one tool
or if you prefer to do it manually then
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache

It would help if you can elaborate "doesn't work". Listing the steps you tried to install the recovery and what are your trying to perform in the recovery
Well by doesn't work I mean that it goes to and HTC white screen "This build is for development purposes only..." and well with the current method of achieving root if I'm not mistaken you need a custom recovery. Initially I wanted to nandroid my phone before rooting. I wasnt yet aware that the user football had made a RUU available for the CDMA One V which latter turned to help clxcoltz and I in recovering our phones.
You don't need a custom recovery to root the phone. You only need to boot it with boot.superboot.img using adb.

Please help me with my HTC one v (virgin mobile)

My htc one v (virgin mobile) (no simcard) (i think is CDMA) is not installing any backup recovery program no matter how many times i try to install it.I installed ROM Manager after unlocking bootloader and installing the CDMA version of root. After rooting it i finally clicked install the CWM from the ROM Manager. Everytime that i try to boot into recovery or make a back up it either freezes at the HTC screen which has red lettering that says that i shouldn't distribute htc stuff but i don't know what i'm doing wrong. I've followed many tutorials but i don't know why this is happening. I downloaded rootchecker and checked to see if i was rooted and it said that i was. I have SuperSU and everything. What am i doing wrong and how can i fix this so i can enter recovery mode to make backups so i can flash various roms? Please help me. Thank you
You need fastboot flash to install the recovery. Installing the recovery thru ROM manager may not work.
Here you can have link to the recovery : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=31868324&postcount=4
You need to boot your device in fastboot mode (same way like you first unlock the bootloader) then run command
fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery,img

Problem with fastboot
Hi. I have padfone2. I have rooted it and all was fine. i removed some stock apps and before installing recovery and backing up the phone i did factory reset. Now the phone shows asus logo then shows android logo with progress bar and few seconds later it reboots and does it again and again. I want to flash a custom rom so i started the phone in fastboot with power/volume buttons. All the screen shows is "Fastboot!!!" at the top of the screen and asus logo somewhere in the middle. I flashed suggested twrp with "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" from the cmd and it looked ok. When I rebooted the phone it went straight into the loop again. When I start it in fastboot mode there is no menu or anything else to start the recovery. What do I need to do to open it. Please help. Thanks.
This is the one V forum so I don't know what you can flash, but when your phone restarts (boot loop) you must have flashed a wrong kernel. To reboot into recovery connect the pad to the pc and type in cmd "adb reboot recovery" then just flash the right kernel, you have to find that on your own, check the thread of the rom you are trying to use

just get the img file from teamwin site and make sure you get the right one then flash it via fastboot

have you tried hitting volume up? I believe if you have no flashable files in stoage older versions of cwm will show a blank screen.
