Rom Installation - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Help
I have a rogers Note 2 with twrp recovery, and flashed many different roms in the past.
yesterday i tried to flash http://rootzwiki.com/topic/40138-rom422-jdq39e715-official-uxylon-beta/
and it boot looped then corrupted my sd card.
eventually i had to restore my phone to factory via odin.
i then rooted again and tried the official PA rom, boot loop again
then i triedXenonHD rom, boot loop again.
the only rom that installed correctly is clean rom.
but i really wanted to go to 4.2.2
any one have any ideas

Wipe dalvik and cache after flashing it and reflash your modem.
Card corrupted when it is formatted to exfat you will need to use fat32 format.
You can still fix your corrupted sd without losing your data by doing steps from link below.

Did you do an actual full wipe? Internal, FDR, 3x each!!! Before you perform the install.
One other question did you update your TWRP recovery lately? Many possibilities it can be!

Yes i tried a full wipe, although usually i don't need to do that.
and I am on the most recent version of TWRP. I even tried downgrading TWRP.
So far it looks like i can't install 4.2.2 roms.

Wondering what actually causing that problem for you?? I'm not sure if there's some special instructions to flash a CM 10.1 Rom. I don't use em' so I wouldn't know. Had them all b4!
I like everything to work when u need it to, plus I'm a big S-pen user:thumbup:

Ya instructions are all relatively the same and I've never had any problems before.
although I've noticed TWRP is acting weird. it doesn't show the filesystem properly. I have to navigate to /data/media/ to get to the internal sd.
I wish Clockwork had an official release for the rogers not 2

But here's the 2.4 TWRP:

Edit: just so you know 2.5, was when it got changed over to the new look, and how things work in the recovery! So 2.5 and above are particularly the same. Fyi

[Q] CWM Recovery on i317M

Hi,
I'm having issues installing CWM Recovery on my Rooted GN2. It's the Canadian variant, SGH-I317M.
It does go through the process of flashing the recovery, but never gets to saying PASS in ODIN. When I try to get into the Recovery, it still has the stock Samsung Recovery. It does, however trip the flash counter.
I'm followiing the instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1988785
This is what I get after flashing in ODIN.
Maybe a bad download? Have you checked to see if it installed? I dont usually recommend this but koush's Rom Manager supports our device now, you can use the app to flash it if your already rooted:thumbup:
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using Tapatalk 2
In your screen shot it shows the f-reset box checked I believe it should be unchecked.

Thanks,
I've been following that thread, and it doesn't work. It will trip the flash counter, but doesn't actually install the recovery. It appears that I'm not the only one having this issue after the most recent OTA update...

Then try flashing cwm ...just a hunch

I'm also having problems after the OTA update. Before OTA update, I was able to flash CWM without problems. Following exact same procedure as before when it was working. Only variable that changed is the OTA update.

I was able to install CWM by following this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=36201055&postcount=54
But I'm starting to think that it may have been my fault the whole time...
While doing the 3 button combo to try to boot into Recovery, I was using Vol-DOWN, instead of Vol-UP. So I was going into download mode. I'm going to try flashing the CWM through ODIN again and see if I was just an idiot the whole time.
***EDIT***
It looks like I was just an idiot the whole time...

I thought of cleanROM but it is pretty stock. I feel if im going to flash any rom i might as well go with something modded and tweaked rather then stock, while keeping most of the note 2 and s-pen features. If i start finding them being a little buggy or draining my battery or anything, ill settle with cleanROM and just flash some custom mods.
i flashed my CWM through MobileODIN. worked like a charm. then i ran into issues with backing up to extSD, which ended up working after i formatted it but i took way longer then onto internal SD.
i know its off topic for this thread..Any suggestions or thoughts on the JEDI X9 and SKYNOTE roms will be great guys. Im all backed up and ready to flash pretty quick here.
I guess you have custom ROM. You must root and rename recovery restore files before you boot to android or stock recovery will be restored.

[Q] twrp problems

when im in twrp it seems as it freezes up nothing works any idea
More details! What are you doing in twrp when it freezes? Flashing? Wiping? Just sitting looking at the device in recovery? Provide as many details as possible about the the issue.

note i317m cant read sim after unlock

I bought a note i317m off craiglist and he had flashed a verizon rom on a rogers (i think) canadian phone.
I went back to 4.1.1 and performed the free unlock. It read my sim fine, i made calls, connected to LTE, etc.
I flashed a 4.2.2 rom and now i cant get it to read any sim i put in to it (all the sims work and some were active)
imei under phone info matches the sticker
Can anyone recommend a way to completely restore this phone. Format the entire sd and start fresh?
Ok from that model# that shows sounds like someone or who ever you got it from, flashed a Verizon Rom on there?? Because that's there model#for there GN2.
Team win is the custom recovery, call TWRP!
Next you can just Odin back to stock and hopefully you'll b good to go.
But I think you should start here for your info!! A lot of your questions will b answered there...

You'll just have to wipe your internal STORAGE. But just back up anything that you'll like to keep. If you use Odin back to stock then, there will be nothing on your phone!! Afterwards

Yes you do it thru recovery! If that's the one that you want to use(Rom) then no need to re flash anything.. but you will have to set it back up again. But I do recommend TWRP it's a lil easier to use to me personally! But I'm say use what your use to using! Then there's no problems lol.
Don't forget to grab (back up)what you want off the phone b4 you do this wipe:what:. Because your going to lose everything. I've just done this recently, meaning cleaning out my phone completely!

[Q] Please HELP Note 2 sprint L900 black screen after samsung logo

So I rooted my Sprint Note 2 using ODIN and everyone's great post. Then I broke my screen and had to do an insurance claim. I then rooted my new phone using the same method -CF-Auto-Root-t0ltespr-t0ltespr-sphl900.tar found out the next day that my headphone jack on the refurbished POS assurance sent me was bad. So I attempted to flash a stock rom (like everyone I could find) so I could have Sprint service center fix it. But now my phone will flash the samsung note 2 screen and then go black. I guess my question is does it matter which stock rom I load? can someone explain the letters and numbers after each file MC2,MA7,PAM LJ1 and so on, which one should I be looking for and what is my next move? I just need to get back to stock rom and a working phone so I can go up there and get mad at someone long enough to get a new phone. I know I'm a noob and there are post that have detailed explanations on flashing stock roms but I have read everyone I could find relating to the l900 which I have come to think is Sprints NOTE II but I am lost and extremely frustrated just want a working phone again. If this helps when my phone was working I was running Macs Allstar ROM shout-out because it is pretty sweet and I remeber it was once on 4.1.2 but the state its in now I dont know please give me a suggestion.
So you were on Macks Rom All Star before you tried to flash the stock rom? If thats the case then you were on MA7 or possibly MC2. Which stock rom did u try to flash? Also can u get into custom recovery still?

Stock recovery or custom? Just making sure you can get into either Twrp or Cwm recovery before you flash billiards stock recovery Rom MC2. Its under Sprint Note 2 Android development. Download it. Verify Md5 and place on your external sd card. Go into recovery, wipe cache, dalvik, n factory reset each 3 times ( on twrp) Install rom. After its done installing hit reboot system. Might ask you if you want to fix root permissions. Hit yes and let its do its thing and it will boot up to stock rom and ready to turn in to sprint with no trace of root or modding.

yes that just stayed on screen tried using Odin and flash the file you had circled on pick and got same result but now im thinking maybe I should have wiped system three times before flashing odin file? I will just wait until you recommend my next move.

You were trying the MC2 one right? Your baseband is LJ1 so could be why you were getting stuck. I would try the LJC version and see if it boots up for you. Make sure your verifying md5 of the file so you know its a good download.
Edit: charge your phone also to make sure you have enough juice in case you have to try again.

Have you tried using Odin to return to fully stock? Then re root it flash Rom of choice, too if problem still persist...
Before doing above did you try a internal storage wipe b4 your install? To get rid of all old days from previous Rom!!
