[Q] need to go to stock htc one x for warrenty - HTC One X

Hi all,
I have the following problem. I have een htc one x with venom rom but sinds yesterday the touchscreen won't work anymore. I tried to reinstall and delete all but still it won't work. So I think I'll have to send it back to the factory. But now the following problem occur everytime i try to install the ruu I get an arror message Error [132] signature error.
my cid is E__11 i tried many different .....401.... but all have the same problem.
my carrier is vodafone
unlocked using the def page S-ON
Please help!
Kind regards

Get me the main version number with this fastboot command
Fastboot getvar version-main

That is 1.29.401.11

Cool !
Download this file :
http://bugsylawson.com/files/file/1...12-radio-2120413520-release-274900-signedexe/
* put the phone in the bootloader and relock the bootloader with this command
Fastboot oem lock
* keep the phone in the locked bootloader and run the 2.17.401 ruu.exe with admin rights. Right click the ruu.exe and select " run as administrator "
It will flash the phone back to stock. Stock software, kernel and recovery. If the screen works after this (maybe) you can even update via the phone update menu to 3.14 jellybean and also all the way up to 3.20 software.
* Note : make a backup of the things you want to keep. If still possible. This will wipe the phone (data, contacts)
Succes !

Thanks but now i got an new error

okey I tried it few more times and now i have a full green bar when the error [152] message pops up.
but when i try to restart the phone its stuck at the white grey htc letters and black background I thank it is the download mode.
im getting worried that my one x is died...

Okey i tried the following of user tomascus
run the RUU again but this time don't click next, instead:
Go to C:/Users/(Yournamehere)/AppData/Local/Temp
- search for "rom.zip" file
Copy it to your fastboot folder
Remember to relock your device before running an RUU! To do this from the HTC screen, type: "fastboot reboot-bootloader" and then
type 'fastboot oem lock'. To go back to the HTC logo, type: 'fastboot oem rebootRUU'
Then, on the HTC screen, use fastboot to flash the rom.zip file: "fastboot flash zip rom.zip"
This might take awhile and might fail once, but be patient and try again if it fails
After installation it most likely won't appear to do anything and in that case, type: "fastboot reboot"
my cmd looks like this.
C:\Android\fastboot>fastboot flash zip rom.zip

YEs that worked
only my touchscreen still doesn't work tho:crying:. Is there a way to check if the stock software, kernel and recovery are back to stock? I want to now for sure before I'll send it back to the factory.
Also I noticed that in the bootloader it says relocked instead of locked is this going to be a problem for warrenty?
Thanks so much so far I'm verry happy

Well no we cant make it "locked" the ruu takes care of everything. You are as stock as you can get now !
Shame your screen does not work. If its hardware related they should replace the screen/digitizer !
Good luck, i hope you will be served well

Hello again,
New day new problem
the batterie depleted last night and when i was charging my phone and restarted it it didn't came past the blackscreen with the grey htc logo.
I thought it was fixed yesterday because i could start the phone whitout any problems.
I did still had the [152] image update error. But because the phone worked and everything seemed to be on stock again i didn't paid any attention to that any more.
should i fix this first or can i just send the phone back because i assume everything is on stock anyway.
and how do i fix this
I can't go into bootloader mode but fastboot comands do still work. Iff it type fastboot reboot-bootloader it just goes to the blackscreen with grey htc letters again.

Weird indeed, try this
Fastboot erase cache
Then try to reboot again to the bootloader. Otherwise its defo a htc warranty/repair issue

when trying to reinstall the rom with cmd fastboot i get an 44 hboot version check fail.
if i remember correctly hboot was 00.95.00.000 when i could get into the bootloader

Did you install an official ota maybe to 2.17.401 ? Check the hboot if possible, or perform this command again
Fastboot getvar version-main

getvar is still 1.29.4.11
I tried 1.29.4.12, 1.29.4.11, and the ruu you gave me.
if ota means updating true phone i can not do this because the touchscreen doesnt work..
can you check hboot truew fastboot ?
and can somebody please fix my 5 min waiting lim

Can you speculate what will happen iff i send my phone to htc in his current stage? Wil they fix it or are they going to charge me?
I definatly find it a little strange. I have this phone for 10 months now and when i got it i installed the venom rom instantly without having any issues or problems 10 months later the touchscreen dies and going back to stock is verry difficult somehow....

when you unlock your phone you lose your phones warranty.. so there is a high chance you will be charged for repairing.. and did u make a full nandroid backup before installing venom rom??

My phone is S.ON and unlocked by def website. the phone is relocked now so I should not have any warrenty problems when stock. Yes i did a full nandroid backup and kept it save on my computer that crashed in december.

Oh that is sad! Your phone has a RELOCKED bootloader.. Htc people will see that relocked and then you will have to pay for your repairs! It doesn't matter that your phone is s-on, your phones warranty is gone.. Htc people see for LOCKED status in your bootloader for warranty. RELOCKED/UNLOCKED bootloader=warranty void

F me... That's stupid because it's not my fauld the touchscreen broke down.. It just doesn't respond anymore and that has nothing to do with a rom change or whatever i used this rom for more then 10 months without any problems. The rom problems started when i wanted to go back to stock...
This is a hardware problem not a software problem or am i seeing this wrong?
Mr.. hoffs what do you have to say about this?

hi!
I have htc one x tegra 3. I have a few problem with it.
My main problem now, i don't can use fastboot rebootruu option.
Code:
(bootloader) Save data from original MSC...
(bootloader) Save data from SIF...
(bootloader) Update partition data to SIF partition
(bootloader) Update partition data from original MSC...

And it just give me black screen. After i need hold power button for reboot.
But anyway i have problem, with fastboot, if i want relock my phone or unlock again, or flash boot.img, or recovery. Most of time i get some error. I try to flash from android, and win8. From pc and notebook. I need do same command for 2-3 times.

You can't downgrade from 3.20 to 3.14 !!! And there is no RUU. if you want to go to stock you have to restore a nandroid backup via a custom recovery.
Unlock the bootloader :
Fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin
Flash a recovery :
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Flash a boot.img :
Fastboot flash boot boot.img

I want to do this many times, but sometimes work, sometiomes not. I always get error for fastboot commands.
Then you should check your drivers, and be sure that you are in Fastboot..
Check yor conectivity:
fastboot devices
Only use the original HTC usb cable, only use a 2.0 usb port directly connected. Not via hubs or anything.
It can always be hardware related at the end, but lets try to rule that out !

ah yeah sorry that was on page 1 already. so the bootloader is unlocked ? yes the error is normal. is the phone still booting into OS And try to flash a recovery now
another strange thing, if i turn my phone on, with usb connected everithing looks ok
Code:
battery-voltage: 3730mV
but if i disconnect the usb and turn the phone on, it say, battery to low to flash.
Then you have to run the battery script
https://www.dropbox.com/s/aaah8gqz8j024xz/Batt script.bat
Phone in the bootloader and run the script from the fastboot folder with admin rights.
It will continuously reboot the phone and charge it little by little
When it hits 3800mV you flash again

Don't work, the phone don't reboot. If i try reboot it with fastboot reboot-bootlader, or from bootloader or with this script, it just turn off, and i need turn it on by hand.
Yesterday i can use the script, but today not.
yesterday when i finaly can turn on the phone and boot into android, i charge it, around 60% than i go to bed, and i also need to charge my primary phone, so i disconnect hox from charger, and turn it off. Now it say in bootloader baterry low for flash, funny...
Anyway i order a htc one x+ battery from ebay, so i need a few day, and i can test with new battery...
But i try to search some solution until i get the new battery.
edit:
btw my goal now, i just want to make it workable, and sell it. Thats why, i want relock, and install stock rom.
Or i just install THIS rom with custom recovery, or android revolution hd....

Hi, need some help

Ive been reading this section of the forum for 2 nights now. read various threads and none the wiser.
Ive unlocked my htc one x using the windroid htc one app which worked fine, but installing a rom was not as easy. now < i admit, i dived in and installed a ROM without seeing what else it needs to work ( am used to flashing nexus roms) and now its stuck at the HTC screen. Now i've tried various ways to rectify the proplem. uisng various roms, flashing boot.img before flashing the rom, no go. tried older roms, no go.
I know the hboot needs updating, but without a cid id then i cant find a matching firmware.zip.
Ive tried to do a RUU boot by locking the bootloader but get this:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Minimal ADB and Fastboot>fastboot flash zip rom.zip

OKAY [ 19.444s]
writing 'zip'...

thanks for your help that got the phone back to booting properly
I flashed it and it worked. I got myself back to the latest update. Now i tried various roms again as i'm one for experimenting but some of the newest ones dont seem to want to work.
ones i've tried>
Android_Revolution_HD-One_X_33.1
HTC_One_X_-_MaximusHD_21.0.0
OneX The Next Chapter! v1.2
but none of them worked for me.
So i went lower with
cm-10.1.3-endeavoru which worked
then updated to
cm-10.2.0-endeavoru and flashed the boot.img for it to work.
Now for the other roms, what am i missing? is it the firmware.zip? hboot level?
Am bowing down to Thant, and hoping he can tell a mere minion what he's doing wrong
I don't think you updated far enough ! Post the outcome of :

cyanogenmod stable rom not recognising sim, and not being recognised by htc sync
Hi i just unlocked and rooted my phone. one of the first things i did after having rooted it was go into rom-manager and download the highest rated cyanogen mod stable rom...expecting it to reboot itself and do the update automatically once id downloaded the file i was suprised when nothing happened...so i put it into recovery mode myself and searched the phone's storage for the rom file...it was infact two files, one the rom, the other gapps...i installed both of them and rebooted the phone...at first i was left on cyanogenmod bootloop...after a few restarts, and factory resets, i eventually got past the cyanogen mod intro wheel, to its actual introduction *asking me to choose a language*, as soon i choose my language i get notification asking me to insert my simcard (it already is, OF COURSE...), as i go through the rest of the setup there is no network coverage or internet..so i cant simply download rom-manager and try another flash..it also wont come up as a recognised device on my macbook...ive downloaded another flash of cyanogenmod on my laptop along with a new gapps, but im utterly lost about what to do now...i cant even put them on the phone....
wud love any help

the reason i'm so frustrated is aside from the supposedly stable build of cyanogen mod i downloaded in rommanager not working, the rom doesnt recognise my sim, i dont have access to the internet, so i cant simply download a new rom to flash straight from rom manager...as well as this the wifi doesn't seem to work on this flash...and to make matters worse it's not being recognised by the drivers...i'm using htc sync manager..when i plug in the phone it will open htc sync manager but wont show that a phone is paired to my macbook
...when u say manually can i do this directly from my phone or do i need to connect it to a computer?
You must connect it to PC..And then go to fastboot and flash boot.img file..Then you will have signal, wifi etc..

its not being recognised as a device since i flashed the *cyanogen mod stable rom*...i plugged it to my computer though, and put it into fastboot and it says FASTBOOT USB...the options it gives me from here are
HBOOT
REBOOT
REBOOT BOOTLOADER
POWER DOWN
Here is guide how to use ADB on macbook:

And then you can use fastboot commands..

Then it might be easier to flash the 3.14.401 firmware to upgrade the hboot to 1.39. Then you can flash any rom you want, and there is also a ruu for that. Sorry i have no time to explain now (heading home from work)
Look for the firmware placeholder thread, read the instructions and download the 3.14.401 firmware.zip from there.

i already had the ota 3.14.401 and got the firmware.zip from there.
its installed fine and i now can put most roms onto it.
:victory: thank you Mr Hofs
So i get this right in my head. The phones firmware.zip needed updated so it would update hboot and other things.
Now to flash roms is the procedure to flash the boot.img contained inside first then install the rom <----which is they way ive being doing it

Boot Loop/No Recovery

Hey all
I tried to flash over a Google Edition Rom from Cyanogen Mod by following a guide and now I am stuck on a google boot loop. Ive tried to enter recovery but it just leads me back to the google boot loop and the same happens when I try to choose factory reset. Ive tried to flash back to cyanogen and I get this error FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail) I have also tried to flash back to a sense rom and get this error FAILED (remote: 24 parsing android-info fail). So how can I either get my recovery working or getting back to Cyanogen.
Also I changed my model ID when following the guide... So Im guessing that has something to do with it but I am unsure how to change my model ID back without having access to recovery.
Heres what I got from the getvar command

Hey dude why do you keep mirroring Santod's files? Just link him to the OP. The way you're doing this kind of makes it look like you made this. No credits or anything given to the dev.

Not my intention at all. 99.8% of the stuff on that site is not made by me. I do it to make it easier on my self when trying to help others, so i dont have to search all over for links. I also do it as a backup of sorts. I have seen file sharing sites go down (some permanetly), xda members leave or close threads or not maintain them once they move to a new phone or what ever. Then these critical files are lost, or a massive time consuming manhunt insues to find them. It also provides one easy organized place to find the files you need .And just to be clear, the no boot img file you are refering to was not made by santod. It was one i edited my self by pulling the boot img from a firmware zip file. Just because he did it, dosent mean someone else cant do the same. Im not here for credit, im here to help people and to get help. I give santod and any other dev whos files i mirror full credit. If its that big of a freakin deal, i will just shut the site down. I have done the same thing with several other phones i have had, and have never had an issue from anyone like i have had here in the vzw one forums.
Well on several phones I've owned it was rude to mirror devs files without their permission or without them requesting it. It is one thing for the dev to ask for a mirror and someone mirror the file for them. All the links in his op work and they aren't hard to find at all. So other than having a site for your own personal reasons there doesn't seem to be a very good reason to have mirrors of every file that has been posted to this forum.
Well your opinion is yours. I dont see what its hurting. Its not like im mirroring roms or anything. File a complaint with xda if you think its against the rules in some way. Untill they kick me off xda, you can find me here helping others in the best way i can.

I'm not at all saying you can't help people but how much more difficult would it be to link back to the op where you got the file from? As far as I know all the links are working.

HTC Desire 816w SoftHard Brick s-on tampered relocked costly repear

How did this happen, i dont know but phone is bricked while someone tired to put new RoM on it.
Authorized HTC service asked for 150$ to repear phone by replacing motherboard. I found it strange since phone is entering recovery, and i am trying to see if I can bring it back to life. So far, not good.
I tryed to flash RUU (exe file) from ofical htcdev site, phone resets (gray htc logo appear) and its stuck at "sending 0/6". And before flash RUU did not see active version on phone (showed only version that should be updatet on phone) I have suspicion that this phone is made for Asia market but i cant fine RUU other then Europe.
Before I tired this with "Unlocked" and then i relocked it and tried with "Relocked"
Now I am trying to find out how to make "SD gold card" and see if i can flash some new ROM with it. but I am very new at this so I need some time. Is it posible this phone is Hard Bricked with bad root?

Thank you for any help!
If you can get into recovery I think you can get back to a working phone.
1) I would flash twrp if you don't have it already installed. Put a copy of twrp backup of a previous stock ROM for your 816 version on a SD card. Either by USB if you can or remove the SD from phone and do it manually @ your PC(you may need to mountsd card when you're done).
2) In twrp go to the restore menu and make sure you can see the backup you want to restore.
3) Do an advanced wipe dalvik cache, system, cache, data and internal storage. You can even format data if you want.
4) Restore twrp backup.
Hopefully you have a working phone at this point and can follow steps to upgrade via RUU then OTA.
Thanks for replay!
I tired downloading twrp.img and do
fastboot flash recovery twrp.img

Im not even sure if i can flash custom recovery if phone is S-on and relocked? No one in my contry cant fix this phone. They just dont know i gues.. How can it be hard bricked if i can enter recovery mode?
Update on trying
I downloaded rom from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-816/general/ruu-htc-desire-816-a5chl-ruu-file-t2920254 changed name to 0P9CDIAG.zip and updated it over sd card. There was loading and checking, when it was finished I reboted phone. Now phone just enters recovery mode (you dont need to hold buttons anymore), and now "RUU" from offical htcdev says "signiture error" and its not stuck at "sending 0/6"
Also i got ***Security Warning*** now below "relocked"
Im not sure if this is a good or bad thing
I believe that you used the wrong ruu. You need an a5_dug ruu. You used the virgin mobile desire ruu.
Sent from my HTC One_M8 using XDA Free mobile app
If you have access to a reliable and fast internet connection and a credit card, there are websites that update your phone via internet for a price, much cheaper than motherboard change

Step forward, 2 steps back
So, i tryed to "install zip" BinDroid_Desire816_DualSIM_V2.0.0 with CWM. It goes throu, but at the restart, phone is still stuck (nothing happens)
Now i fould CWM backup here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2772771 and while restoring i got problem

Can't mount /data!
Any help with this? Thanks!
Thanks everyone for help, i managed to install BinDroid with TWRP recovery (from there i formated internal memory)!
It was fun doing something new
Thanks!

[SOLVED] Need some help update my phone from 5.0.1 to 6.0

Hi.
first off i have to say im completely new to this, and been googling all day for how to update my phone from 5.0.1 to 6.0 as it doesnt get it automatic but cant find what i feel is the right way for me. so i feel pretty stuck
this far i figure i most likely have an asian modell of m8, would like to upgrade it so i later on will get automatic updates (if it will ever be more coming for this one )
so as a noob i need some help on how to solve this issue

you can update it using RUU.zip
however you have s-off device which is heavily modified ( supercid, dev ed or t mobile mid and Asian firmware )
so if you want t update the current firmware then
downoad this RUU
https://mega.nz/#!nQUTEQgS!705whK7tyPvtUgUQwLenweGTJepoHQDeBgsiHhrYVlQ
and follow this instruction to flash it
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=64926626&postcount=6
start from "2. Download htc_fastboot.exe" all the steps and files before this step is not for you
p.s backup your files before flashing as the RUU will wipe your internal storage
that didnt work to well, tryed several times (even with different usb ports, same result)

that's because your mid is 0P6B13000 and cid supercid
the right mid for this firmware is 0P6B63000 and cid HTC__622
you have tow options
1- flash the developer edition marshmallow firmware and RRU.exe
2-change the MID to 0P6B63000 and flash the asian firmware/RUU again
your choice and i think both options are valid for you
option 1
flash this firmware https://mega.nz/#!iZJHDKZK!wKL6TkHz8u5eXA6HfhUfgPDdfeTcCZMxygc9Mm_GGg8
then reboot to bootloader and run this RUU.exe from your pc as a normal app http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-one-m8/news/
direct link for the RUU.exe
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...2.1540.4.exe?_ga=1.5739063.5870829.1473114560
option 2
change the mid to 0P6B63000
reboot to twrp ( flash it if you don't yet ) and connect your device to pc
type this 4 commands in cmd window ( press enter after each command )
adb shell
Code:
echo -ne '\x30\x00\x50\x00\x36\x00\x42\x00\x36\x00\x33\x00\x30\x00\x30\x00\x30' | dd of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p5 bs=1 seek=16384
the above command is very sensitive and long command just copy and paste it not write it your self
exit
adb reboot bootloader
then flash the firmware again and followed by the RUU
source for change mid https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2708581
your mid command isn't available in this thread i edited a close one to be valid for 0P6B63000 ( i'm not an expert )
and i recommend you to choose option 1 ( any way it's your choice following my own command or use the most trusted option 1 )

thanks a lot for your time struggeling with my noobyness, would not have get this done right without you.
atleast now i know what to do next time i buy a new phone on ebay

no worry you are on complete stock state anytime you will make a factory reset it will just wipe the user data
but no need for that now as it already wiped everything on the device :good:
Good to know
Guess this thread can me marked as SOLVED! :good:

If you like, you can do that yourself, by going to the top post and editing the thread title to add [SOLVED].
The mods don't go around looking for threads to mark as solved.

Looks like you already answered this question yourself based on the thread you started here: https://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-m8/help/help-to-change-radio-basebands-htc-one-t3582804
Please try to avoid bouncing around to different threads. Or at a minimum, if you answer your own question, go back and post what the solution was, so folks don't waste time trying to help you with a question which was already self answered.
noted edited this to solved
well, can atleast say that the rom worked on my phone....(but did not solve the problem in my other thread.)
