4.2.2 Google Play Edition Full Dump - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364875
It looks like there is a full dump of stock Google Edition ROM out there. Apparently is not flashable onto other devices due to different partitions and other stuff I don't really understand right now. I was wondering when are we going to get an exact replica ODIN flashable rom (stock recovery, system, kernel) for those who want to use only stock firmware on our devices, and what are the chances assuming that is possible, to get OTA updates directly from Google once they're available

This is a newer version og GE on ship phones right? The one in development older?

This is the full stock firmware dump pulled out from the GE shipped phones, not the leaked one which was I belive only a system dump... anyways this one has stock boot, kernel, system, pit files... you name it. We just need an awesome Dev to make it ODIN flashable, in order to use it on the T-Mobile S4. I have been using Jamal's ROM lately which is based on the 4.2.2 leaked dump and is made for the international version I9509G, and works like a charm on my phone... though is tweaked, kernel is ausdim, and other tweaks, and obvioulsy you cannot get Google OTA updates.

This is exactly what I want to know as well. If I'm doing this, I want to go all the way and not have to futz with it again in the future. No disrespect to those who like to constantly tweak and flash their phones; I'd much rather just hit it and quit it, then enjoy the automatically updating AOSP goodness. :good::good:

i made a ROM specifically for our T-Mobile devices. ausdim's Kernel is built from Google sources with extra Samsung stuff thrown in so it's actually better...
anyway, someone will figure out how to make it Odin flashable soon enough i'm sure
thanks for the link!

I see that you extracted the the GE stock kernel from the dump and seems like is working fine... for you at least. Are you going to replace ausdim's kernel in your ROM with stock?

I second the idea behind Odin flashable fully stock gpe version. No disrespect to the developers they do amazing things and it will take one to do this anyways. I just don't want to deal with the hassle of updates I prefer ota, this would be my first phone that I haven't rooted and so I'm patiently waiting for a genius to get cracking at this :crossing fingers:

Ok i flashed you ROM and the stock GE kernel (zipped by yourself :highfive on my M919, very impressive and stable everything is working just fine... except one little thing the Wi-Fi thete, i tried rebooting , i even installed FoxFi and still nothing. I thought is not working because of the kernel so i wiped dalvik and cache, then reflashed ausdim V7... and again not working. Flashed back to GE kernel and still no go. Is it a ROM bug or just me, and how can i fix it, thetering is essential to me. Thanks, i appreciate your work and i'm sorry but this is the only place i can post, the xda system won't let me post in development for some reason.

Hey Bro, you're going to be pissed if you haven't modded the updater-script to change the two instances of "maguro" to "toroplus" b/c you'll get an error in CWM if you haven't made this modification.
Below is a link to the ROM in which I made the necessary changes to the updater-script to make the ROM flashable in CWM. The changes to the updater-script are simply changing two instances of "maguro" to "toroplus", and I've flashed the same file that I'm linking to and I'm running this ROM right now.

UPDATE:
Ok, well the version of the ROM that I made with the modified updater-script (see post above) flashed fine, but I think that maybe the OP needs to make additional changes to make data/3G work on our device. I cannot get a data connection for the life of me, and I've never had this issue before with any other build for this device. When I go into Settings>More I cannot choose between LTE/CDMA and CDMA, and when I go into Settings>About Phone it says my Baseband Version is "Unknown" and pretty much everything else says Maguro (instead of "Toroplus?). Can someone with more knowledge than I inform me what files I can copy from Toroplus AOKP 40 and replace in this ROM so that I can get data working yo? Thanks.
sorry,i posted in the wrong section
this rom is for maguro

Avoid doing that. It is more likely that the ROM is not for you. Only do it if you are 100% sure that the Dev made an oversight in the script which is much less likely than having the wrong ROM for your phone. You keep doing this and you might get a brick soon.

It's not clean - it's got TouchWiz things in it .
Oh and I agree with schukje. ICS is pretty much dead. We'll only get one more ICS AOKP build, then we're all going to the jellybeans stores .
Anyway, nice ROM. Let's hope you stick around until JB is out and bring us some of that goodness as well.

Yep very true... That's what I am waiting for, the ROM's to switch to JellyBean things to be officially released. JB to me is not out yet and how people are putting these ROM's out and claiming to be JB without AOSP having released the source is to scary for me to try on my phone so I'm avoiding anything stating it's JB. For now it's ICS for me though I am running franco's 200 ics kernel which is running pretty good.

I guess that's kinda what I meant. Pulling an installable out of this leak that could be installed on other JB roms. I know people have made apks and such for previous Android builds... but a working JB T-mo wifi calling didn't exist until this I3 leak. If it's not possible just tell me i'm an idiot and i'll forget about it. lol
It's not really good topic for this thread, but in theory it more then likely can be done. But lots of research needs to be done to get libs files and such to get it to work. Its not a simple apk any more since it is built into the settings and framework. There are threads on the matter search WiFi calling and you will find a couple
Back on subject. Why is this in the general section? downloaded and wanting to install just not 100% sure I want to with rumors of it being updated again by the source that said this would leak soon. Decisions decisions.

[ROM] Stock Telus T989DTLUMC4 [06.29.2013]

Hi Everyone,
I was searching through the threads looking for the official stock Telus T989DTLUMC4 firmware update. I was able to find the Odin flashable version of the update but I was not able to find one that is flashable through recovery. So, I decided to make one and share with everyone here in the community.
This is the official Telus T989DTLUMC4 firmware downloaded from the SamMobile website. I have rooted, installed busybox, zipaligned and deodexed. I am currently running it on my T989D Telus Galaxy S 2 right now and it's running great.
I don't intend to add any additional tweaks/mods to this ROM. It is meant strictly for people that want the official TLUMC4 release but don't want to have to flash via odin and reroot.
Also, if any dev's or chefs want to use this as a base for their ROM please feel free to do so, you do not need to PM me to ask for permission. However, I do ask if you choose to use this base in your ROM please give me a thanks/thumbs up in the OP.
INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS (If followed exactly as below you should not have any issues)
- You must be rooted and have TWRP 2.4.4.0 custom recovery installed
- Download and place the Infamous Cache Wipe and Infamous Super Wipe scripts from http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=2235141 on either your internal or external SD Card. This will be needed for later. Thanks to @Jamison904 @thederekjay and Team Infamous for this fantastic tool.
- Reboot into TWRP 2.4.4.0 recovery and create a nandroid backup (Always do this step before flashing any ROM)
- Go to Wipe, Advanced Wipe and select Data, System,Cache and Dalvik (then swipe to wipe)
- Press the home button and select the Infamous Super Wipe Script
- Click on add another zip file and choose Infamous Cache Wipe
- Click on add another zip file and choose TelusT989DTLUMC4RootedDeodexed.zip
- Swipe to install all 3 files
- Reboot (First boot may take approx 5mins, be patient)
- Wait 10mins after first boot and allow phone to sit (do not log into your account)
- Reboot again and setup your account
- Enjoy

I actually just downloaded the stock firmware for the Tmobile version today, was going to build a Stock, rooted, deodexed version for the TMo guys and gals as well. When it's up I guess you can give this one and the TMo one a try and see which you like best. Typically Telus has less bloat but also doesn't have wifi calling.

Do you think it would be a bad idea to do a dirty flash to upgrade from the official Telus ICS ROM to this? I installed CWM to change radios but am still running the stock ROM. Sounds like a bad idea but I thought I might as well check here

I would not recommend dirty flashing from ICS to JB. Make a backup first of your current ICS stock ROM and then do a full clean wipe and install.

I was going to suggest that as well, but needed/wanted to have yours or Jamison's permission before suggesting. :good:
No permission needed my friend...as long as no one reposts them they are free for anyone to use prior to installing a stock 4.1.2 ROM. Feel free bud!

Losing all the Baseband and Modem settings after flashing an AOSP ROM.

Good evening everyone. I recently got this phone from the Black Friday deal at Best Buy for 80$ and rooted and did all of that without much problem. I installed the Wicked ROM without any issues, and tested it out but I prefer AOSP. But when I flash Cyanogen or Bliss, I lose all of the mobile data , the baseband, here I include a screenshot. I have flashed a stock ROM once again, activated it again without any problem, but when I try to flash an AOSP ROM again I lose everything. Is there anything I can do about that? I have searched the forums and Google and found no solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Did you check to make sure that the md5 matched? Anytime I've had that happen either the md5 didn't match, or I needed to use a different kernel. My Goto kernel for AOSP ROMs has been BMS.

Thanks for the tip, tried flashing Cyanogenmod with that kernel and the same thing happens, I lose all of the settings related to the Baseband, Modem and IMEI. I checked the md5 and it matches completely. I have no idea what is happening. For now I settled into the Conquest Singulalirty ROM which provides an ASJOP look but on offical firmware. But still I would like to know how to solve this problem so if anyone has any tips that would be greatly appreciated.
Is your phone the L710T model by any chance? I had the same problem with every rom I tried EXCEPT for Gummy 3.0. For some reason Gummy 3.0 recognizes my baseband/modem but if I try Gummy 4.0 or any other AOSP rom, no baseband.
Flash universal fix

Flash the file here: http://androidforums.com/threads/mo...apn-fix-wip-cm-aosp-4-4-x.840298/#post6516416
It will modify necessary files in the system to allow you to connect. Also, dial ##72786# to reactivate after flashing. That all worked for me on my Virgin S3 running Carbon. Good luck!
The SPH-L710T is what was on sale at BestBuy for $80 (as I found out after running into a similar problem), and it's a pain in the ass. It seems that TW ROMs are the only ones that don't break the radio... and the M10 snapshot of CM11 apparently (except rotation is backwards). I'm looking for a fix as well.
It seems that all of this can be fixed by a custom kernel, but there's no AOSP/CM kernel (that I know of) that fixes both.
I wish I knew something about kernel development...

That is exactly the one that I have, the 80$ Best Buy from Black Friday. Yeah, I tried what metalhead131 said and it did not work. Hmmm, M10 snapshot worked for you? I will try it out them to see how it goes. In what way did it break the rotation? It does not rotate or is it inaccurate? It is a pain in the ass that we have so many ROMS available but we can't use them. I have been using the Conquest Singularity by Moon Knight. The one that is here in XDA is kinda of outdated but if you Google it you will find his blog with the latest update. He created an AOSP looking ROM but it is TW underneath. That combined with Gravity Box has satisfied me for now, but I hate no being able to flash AOSP ROMS. I know nothing about kernel development, but if someone wants to help with this I can provide anything they need in order to fix this problem with this T version of the phone.
I will try to take the kernel of the M10 and flash it with another ROM to see if the rotation works. I will update as soon as I do that.

Yeah, the radio worked with the M10 snapshot. I was able to get the latest version of ParanoidAndroid to work with the M10 snapshot kernel as well.
When I say rotation is broken I mean when you hold it sideways, it rotates the wrong way, so it's upside down.

Excellent. Thanks for the good news! That doesn't bother me that much, so I will do that with the Bliss ROM that I wanted to install. I will keep investigating and trying things to see if we can fix the rotation issue. I will keep the thread updated.
Semi-Fix for the rotation issue on the M10 kernel.
After checking some apps out, I found one that worked well for the rotation problem using AOSP ROMS on the troublesome SPH-L710T. The app is called Adaptive Rotation Lock and is available for free on the Play Store. What it does is that a little button pops up everytime you rotate your phone, and if you don't click that button the screen will not rotate. So once you put your phone horizontallly, click on the button that pops up to allow the phone to rotate upside-down, then rotate the phone so it is not upside-down anymore, but do not click the button, so it stays in the correct rotation. It is a little cumbersome, but it beats always being upside down while using the phone horizontally! I think this is a good option while we find out how to fix this issue in the kernel.

Greeting kdude63. Thanks to your tips I was able to test many roms and as you settled on Paranoid Android. The only problem I have right now is that intermittently point I lose cell coverage for like 2 minutes, but then I get it back. Does that happen on your phone?
I have also tried many kernels to see if I find another one that works but no go. I am still using the M10 boot.img. Have you found another one that works?
And thanks for helping out with the ODIN tar for this phone! It makes me feel a lot more safe when I am experimenting.

I don't currently use PA or CM as my daily driver, so I don't know. (I don't like dealing with the rotation issues)
I was testing some other kernels earlier, none of them worked before I got careless and accidentally flashed an i9300 kernel, so I can't use my phone for the time being.

Yep, I flashed it normally. Using Philz I got the Wicked 8 zip file and a couple of the addons that are available without any problems but since I don't like the Touchwiz UI too much I am currently running Conquest. Maybe try the full Wicked 8 zip? I did not try the barebones, but I can confirm that Wicked 8 works on the T model. It has the rotation issue but a couple of post ago I described how to get around that. Let me know if it works!

I'm glad! At least we can use Touchwiz based ROMs while we can find a way to create a kernel that is completely compatible with the T model. Is your rotation working correctly?

Yes rotation is working and with the next few updates on CM side they will be fully working on the T model cause CM already updated a fix for the T model
I got spooked when the baseband disappeared and rotation was not working. Went back to stock. Of course you also seem to need the special 2.7 twrp in order to mount system. But the price was right.

this is not an odin file. it is a rom flashable in twrp. if you want complete stock rom odin the tar.md5 file. it is exactly the same with exception to what i have mentioned in OP. again this rom is not for the everyday user. it can be used for that if you wish. but in all truthfulness it is meant to be used by rom developers. it is nothing more then a base to start from in creating a custom rom of your own to keep for yourself or share with the community.
Dude your a beast we appreciate everything you do for us on this phone, xda would be an even better place if more people like you were on each device on XDA.

Yesterday I flashed stock EPG2. One thing I noticed: Bluetooth was an option for tethering! Yay.
Then I went through a round of debloating -- probably too aggressively, as I started experiencing major lag and reboots. So today I wiped partitions and then flashed this devbase. The devbase actually sounds attractive: very close to stock except already rooted and no KNOX.
But there's no Bluetooth in the options for tethering now, just USB. Any thoughts as to why?
@OvrDriVE, please consider releasing the same (rooted/deodexed/stock/knox free) for the 915T -- build PG2:
http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/download/84528/N915TUVS2DPG2_N915TTMB2DPG2_TMB/
I can upload the stock image to androidfilehost if it will help.

lol, i'm still lurkin around somewhere.
I know this is a dev base, but whatever you removed or tweaked is great. All I had to do was remove the two stuff and some stray Sammy stuff I never use. It is more snappy than stock and doesn't lag on texting and such like it was. Thanks.
Hi guys, i installed stock pg2 in my phone, but in languages have only 7 languages, somebody know how i can install more languages? I try morelocale2, and other to try portuguese brazil, but, translate partial only... Thanks!
what's the difference between dev base vs regular? As a normal user could I use this?
