[Q] [mySENSEv RC 3.5, stock rom] 1 line message preview bug - HTC One V

I'm not sure is it in this ROM or also bug in stock one...
In messaging app > settings > message preview, when I choose 1 line, he show me messages with 1 line preview only a short period of time... Next time I get in, it is 2 line preview but still 1 line in settings...
Some kind of bug or... Is there a cure? It's not a big thing but it is irritating...

Contact pictures
Hey there, just saw couple days ago, my stock sms app doesn't showing contact pictures any more. Anyone have similar "problem"? Cure? o/ (rom msensev rc3.5)

try clearing cache/data for the app. corrupted settings/data for the app may be the issue. as far as i know there is no bug. and it could be related to you flashing the fix app. which needs to establish its own settings and not use the data/cache from the old app. so clear thosr things and readd. should work fine.

[Q] Does your SGS2 force close when selecting a contact from Google Search??

Exactly that.
Does your SGS2 force close when selecting a contact from Google Search??
1. Tap the search button that launches the Google Search where you can pull up apps, contacts, local businesses, etc
2. Begin typing the name of one of your contacts until they show up at the top of the list.
3. Select the contact and it should bring you to the Touchwiz contacts app and attempt to present the contact.
Does it pull the contact up for you or force close?? It did this to me on EaglesBlood and now it's doing it on Juggernaut. I'm curious to see if anyone else is having this problem or if I need to take a close look at my possibly corrupt data.
Edit: Wow after all that googling I did I just figured out it's happening on one contact. Kinda feel dumb for making this thread but I'll still post and let you guys know how I fixed it.
Edit #2: Again with my epic feeling of DOH. Clearing data out of the contacts app seemed to fix it. When I did that it didn't delete my contacts like I thought it might, but the problem is fixed.
Mod feel free to delete this thread.
Why delete this thread? Somebody may have this problem later and won't figure it out. Maybe this thread will help them.
I seen to still be having this problem.. Not sure why. I'm gonna keep trying to pin down the issue..

Did you ask in Juggs thread? I see you're running his rom.
Still having the problem. It has happened on both EaglesBlood and Juggernaut. I posted on Juggernaut about the force close. I do remember reading in a ROM thread about someone to fixed the contacts force close.. I wonder if this was what they were refering to?
Logcat below. Begins from the second I touch the contact from the list of Google Voice search bar.
No issue for me. Running Juggernaut v2.0 with Synergy kernel.
Did you do a full wipe when you installed the new ROM?
Also, have you tried fixing permissions?
Yes I always do a full wipe before flashing and I just tried fixing permissions.. still happening.

[Q] about MIUI WIP ROM: version 2.0??

question: version 2.0 of what??
The ROM.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
Is there a download link? the one on the actual post says it isn't working. Also, am I suppose to install 2.0 then install the latest version right?
Not to jump in on the MIUI questions, but I have one as well...
I rely a lot on Go SMS because of its individual notification settings for different contacts. In the previous version of this rom, though, the stock messaging app was overriding Go SMS's settings no matter if it was selected as the default messaging app. Anybody else have this problem and can offer a solution?

I haven't tried it with GO SMS, but to get TabletTalk to work I had to disable MMS Priority in the MIUI messaging settings. If you haven't tried that already, I suggest trying that.
I know it's not a definite fix, but I figured an idea is better than nothing

I'm actually not on MIUI at the moment, but the next time I flash it (probably soon), I'll let you know if that works. Thanks for the tip!

I tried this ROM out today as well and did not flash to 2.0 first.
I only made sure to factory rest/wipe cache/dalvik and then format system, data, cache and sdcard.
After that, I flashed from external sdcard the latest version of the ROM and had no issues (aside from the usual needing to reboot the phone once to restore data connectivity).
I hope this helps :fingers-crossed:
Might as well ask another general MIUI question....lol.
Most other ROM's handle Google Voice integration pretty well. For example, when I place a phone call, my call log shows the person's actual number, not the random number Google used to make the integration work.
With MIUI, though, my call log shows that random number instead. Anybody happen to know why that's to case, and if there's a way around it?
Thanks!

[Q] Default app issues

Hi there.
I thought my only issue with the Note 2 was the driver issues some are experiencing. Now that I avoid it by plugging into my Win7 machine, rather than my Vista machine, that problem is no more.
But recently another issue I thought was minor is really starting to aggravate me now. For some reason, ever since Jelly Bean came around (even on my G-Nexus) I have had issues with default apps saving.
For example, when browsing either using Chrome or the stock Internet browser, I select an IMdB link and a pop up window appears asking what default app I would like to address these link types. I select the IMdB app, and ALWAYS.....then a window pops up showing how to clear defaults which I have to hit: OK. So all in all, I have to hit 3 or 4 more buttons after selecting a link.
The next time I select an IMdB link, I have to do the process all over again......meaning Android is not saving my selected default apps. I thought it might be app specific, but this issue is happening with nearly any default I select. It also doesn't have to be a reboot that wipes my choices......it just never remembers. Same with YouTube, and other apps I choose for defaults.....they don't stick.
The only defaults that work are some non-Google/system based app to app default choices. By this I mean, in ES File Explorer, if I select a default video player, image viewer, text viewer, or audio player they stick. Meaning, if I pick an image while in ES, QuickPic automatically opens. A video, MXPlayer opens etc.
The issue only seems to happen with system or google apps, but is consistent. This problem is getting very annoying, and my google searches over the last couple days have yielded me nothing helpful.
My question is this, has anyone seen this before, and if so do they have a possible workaround or solution they could suggest? Thank you much, in advance.
I have the same issue and started a thread for it... I didn't get any answers

Hmmmm. Thats not the news I wanted to hear lol. Ive managed to work around my problem a little by installing Default App Manager Pro and then installing Opera mobile and setting it as default browser app. I get far fewer pop ups and at least the imdb page on Opera is close to the app. As well, if I search something and it goes to a YouTube link it first goes to the browser page but as soon as I touch the video to play it, the YouTube app opens. Not perfect but far better than being asked to set defaults EVERY time I search the internet, then having my defaults ignored and asked again.....and again.

Is using that app the only solution for this?
I got my wife a Note 2 yesterday, and each time we've rebooted it, it forgets what we chose for the default app, going back to the stock launcher, and no longer using SwiftKey by default.
Each and every time... re-selecting the things she wants... Quite aggravating.
I never had this issue on my S3
I'm wondering if you have installed custom roms or mods. If so, have you tried going to recovery manager and running :fix permissions:? My thinking is that maybe it's trying to write to a read only file and failing silently. Thus the next time it reads default apps, there are no defined preferences.
I don't know for sure that's even the case, but it would make sense logically on any system.

Right now, it's happening to be on a brand new vanilla Note 2
Is rooting my phone and nuking the default .apk's the only option to fix this problem?
Hate to bump an old thread, but I'm having the exact same issue. Every time I reboot all of my default apps disappear and I have to choose them again. They seem to last for the entire session. Stock rom but rooted.

Same here....6 week old Note 2, not rooted. It is saving virtually no default programs...not the launcher, the browser, not documents. Seems that if there are more than one app that COULD open a file, Note 2 will ask for the preferred app, regardless of whether a default had been previously saved / set or not.
Bummer. I did try using a "Default App Manager", went through the process of setting my selected defaults...made absolutely no difference at all!
Judi
If you are on a custom ROM I do not know what to tell you. If you are on stock each time you install or uninstall an app that will perform an action when you click on something the Note will ask if you want to do it once or always. So if you install a new browser and you click on a link it will ask which browser you want to use. If you then uninstall a browser the next time you click on a link you will be asked again. If you are being asked more than that then there is a problem somewhere. If a factory reset does not work and you are still under warranty I would call and find out if that is something that is covered. I wish I knew off hand which app keeps track of your defaults then you could just clear that app and see if that helps.
This is happening on my stock galaxy s4 for t-mobile.. app defaults are not saving. I think it's a broader problem than just the note 2.
Wondering if anyone has found a solution or made any progress????

Changes Made in the Gallery App Do not Apply

Hey XDA,
I have a problem regarding the gallery app on the LG G4. I recently discovered that when I try to edit a picture, I can add all the filters, crop an Image and fine tune the colors but once I hit the check mark to save/apply these changes, the phone returns to the gallery without any changes to the original picture.
This is not the "unable to save changes" error, I do not get any message from the system at all (though the first time I tried to edit a picture, the app froze and displayed an empty pop up. I was forced to close it from the app overview then. Ever since, I see such a white pop up blink for a split-second when entering edit mode, though no text is displayed. I am not sure if this is relevant).
Anyway, I only found this post on reddit dealing with the same error, but since it is archived, one cannot reply there. I would be really thankful if you could point me into the direction of a fix for this.
Best,
morw
It could be a bug in the software a sort of compatibility issue download for the latest version of the apk or wait for anothr version or try using another apk...

Got the same.. "Use another app" is not a solution. I want to use the builtin app as did it in G3..

Question Favorites Flashing when opening Phone App

Since the latest update, when I open the phone app for the first time (or after it shuts down from timeout), a few of my favorites seem to "flash". If this doesn't make sense, I'll try to post attach a video later tonight. Can anyone tell me why this is and how to disable it?
Instructions to reproduce: Click favorites on phone app so it is first to display on reopening. Force close phone app. Open phone app.
So, after playing with this more, I found out that this only happens when I'm signed in to my Duo account. The contacts that flash don't seem to coincide with those who have Duo access, especially since one of the accounts that flash is a landline only account.
So far, I haven't been able to find a fix or a way to disable this. It is super annoying when I'm used to just opening the phone app and clicking on a favorite, only to have it fail because the favorite flashed and didn't capture the touch input.
I agree this is due to Duo....havent looked into it, but yeah its a bit annoying IMHO too!
Seems to be solved in the latest update of the dialer app (I received it this morning): 76.0.431816759
