[Q] 64gb formatted to exfat on paranoid andriod - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm new to android, tried search, unable to solve myself
Buddy was able to get my exfat 64gb sandisk to read on my phone
I flash newest update for Paranoid and the phone and PC cannot read the card anymore. <-- Doesn't show up
I'm wondering if anyone knows how to fix?
I made a backup back to 3.55 PA so it's reading the card just fine again but it doesn't read my card on any other (AOSP?)ROM.
Paranoid Android v3.55
baseband ma7
Any help welcomed, not sure if you guys require any other info, let me know

Aosp is not compatible with exfat. It's a Microsoft patented format. Samsung has deals with Microsoft and is allowed to use it in touch wiz. However stock android cannot. You can either format it to fat32 or go back to touchwiz

But my card is working on Paranoid?? isn't it aosp?
phone can recognize my card just fine right now. same with pc
Sorry I don't know much about android

I would still try backing up the contents of your card and formatting it to fat32 and see how that does.. I had to do this with my 64 gig card as some kernels don't read exfat.. Hope it helps bud.. Good luck..

MoDaCo CyanogenMod 5.0.6 issue

Hey..
I just installed Paul's version of the cyanogen mod, which i downloaded from the MoDaCo website, but now my phone isn't working properly.
(android . modaco . com/content/htc-desire-desire-modaco-com/307607/01-may-5-0-6-test-r1-cyanogenmod-5-for-desire-online-kitchen/)
It boots just fine, but it doesn't recognize that i have a Micro-SD card and a SIM Card installed, and both my phone and my PC do not react when i plug in the USB cable. I have also tried going into recovery mode and run the .bat to get up the menu, but it just says "error: device not found"
Please help me, i am at a loss.
The nex-desire rom on here is based on cm and works just fine. Go with that instead?
I would love to try another ROM, or even just going back to factory settings, but how do i do that when my phone doesn't think that my SD card is installed and i can't connect it to my PC? :/
I have a nandroid backup image on my PC, by the way, if that helps
Boot phone into recovery and flash a different rom update .zip like the nex desire one from here.
i just don't see how i can
1. put a new ROM on my SD card when the USB connection doesn't work
2. get into recovery mode when the adb can't find my device.. i can get to the phone with the red warning triangle on it, but since adb can't find my device i cannot get the menu up
Thanks for replying, though!

To get an new ROM on SD card you can use a card reader.. This will solve half of your problem..
Sorry, I am not a tech person so I don't know how to get adb to recognize in such case..
Try to get Paul's answer in the Modaco Desire forum (you probably already tried).
Oh, one more idea, did you try to perform a factory reset from the settings/privacy menu?
Good luck.

All the stores are closed today, so i will have to wait until tomorrow to try with a card reader, since I don't own a micro-SD to SD adapter..
I tried doing a factory reset, but that just reloaded the cyanogen rom, as i expected..
Thanks for trying to help
Anyone have any other ideas while i wait for the stores to open? :>
EDIT: I just tried plugging in my old SIM Card from my old phone, and I am getting a signal on that.. is the new SIM Card toast?

NeedHelp Unbricking....

Hi
I'm not totally new to rooting but obviously messed up this time.
The bottom line is I get the splash screen and then black - nothing.
I'm pretty sure I can recover it but have no idea how.
Any help would be greatly appreciated for my 2 day old Sam Galaxy s2 (T Mob)
EDIT* I can get into clock Mod
Install Darkside Superwipe/Cache Wipe if you have any way to get them on your SD card:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1477955
then install a ROM that works from the Android Development section. If you don't have any way to get the files on your SD card, follow this guide to return back to stock with Odin:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513359
Also, I'm not sure which service you have, but you can substitute the file in step one of that guide with the one here for ICS if you have T-Mo or Telus:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1705617
Good luck and let me know if I need to clarify anything.
Thank you so very much, not just for the advice but for the speed you answered, I really appreciate it, thank you.

If the phone won't connect to USB storage simply remove the sd card if you have an adapter and plug into your PC and transfer that way.

Yes. But not all computers have readers. If you have one though, that is the best thing you can do.

If you're just worrying about pictures I use CardRecovery. It isn't perfect but it has recovered about 80% of my lost pictures. Its designed for cameras specifically but works with all sdcards
There is a recovery pro tool I've seen but it runs $200+

Before you format your SD card try this post. It works for me everytime my phone tells me I have a corrupted SD card. It might fix your issue. Good luck!

[Q] Does USB Mass Storage work on SGH-T989?

I'm currently on CM-10.1 for my SGH-T989 and trying to figure out how to get files off the device in Linux. Only way right now is to boot into recovery everytime I want to transfer a picture. MTP and PTP do not work and USB Mass Storage is gone from current ICS ROMs. I flashed AOKP yesterday thinking maybe a different ROM would help but no luck. Did CM-9.1 have UMS? Do I need to re-flash the radio if I go back to CM-9.1?
Thanks
Mass storage mode
I was losed until I read this hope it reaches you intime before u slam ur device lol.

Seems to be a link about ringtones.. did I miss something? Anyway, I'm sure I've just put my head in a noose somehow, but I flashed CM-9.1 and UMS is working. Guess I'd better go find out why I don't want it.
EDIT: Ok,found a link explaining how UMS can be bad and why it was taken out of ICS

Just add MTP support in linux. What distro do you use?

I use Multi Mount SD Card for this. I've heard others say it doesn't work for them, though, so YMMV.

I'm using Mint 13. I see 15 is out now with better MTP support supposedly; I should probably upgrade. I did add the webupd8team/unstable repo and install go-mtpfs but it only sort-of worked. a lot of directories I had pics in just didn't show any files.

Can anyone help want to install apps straight to sd

Hi
Can anyone help?, im rooted with ironrom and kernel. I want to install games etc straight to the sd card is there a way on the tab s?. Ive tried looking on the forums but cant find anything. I have done this in the past with phones.
Thanks
Mav
Apps to SD
Well I think I may help. I have solved that by problem by using the Link2sd app. The first thing you would have to do is a partition for your SD card. There are lots of tutorials about that. You would have to do it in a computer and with the SD tool wizard partition or something like that. When you do this, you have a virtual space in your SD where apps can be saved. Here is when link2sd comes. It has a free version, but in order to do this you will need to buy the premium version(I think is very cheap actually). After that is very simple.. I'm telling you this because i have done it with my own tab s. Know i have several apps in the SD and the internal memory to be fulled. I hope this helps you. Sorry if you don't understand my English I'm from a different language.
