Is grand good?

Hey friends
I just wanna knw...
For me grand is a awesome smart phone but there are very few development, just few roms, mods and just some great developers like balli, chotu and few more( sorry I forgot names) there even I a low end phone like galaxy mini (galaxy pop) and micromax canvas 2 ( mmx a110) has a lots of custom roms and mods and alot of developers interested.
I have both smart phones too and there are many roms like cm7 cm10 cm10.1, miui4,miui5, lewa os,pca and many other
So why our sweet and be loved smart phone grand has very slow development???

For me Custom roms is just extra advantage .... but I would be very very happy even if there wasn't any custom rom for my beloved grand.
Who cares if there any custom rom available or not ....
stock rom is the best .... if u know how to make 100% use of it.

Yes it's true stock rom is best. But still XDA is all about development.
I think balli is the lone active developer in our forum. More over Grand is in low activity devices. I think somehow it's true.

bro you should be happy that we have few but very good dev's
we got our own section in xda
there are hundreds of devices that are waiting to get rooted after years
micromax a110 have many roms cause all Chinese phones are almost same, where roms are easy to port
but for grand devs have to make too many changes work harder, even when porting s2 rom like cm10.x
so be happy with happy with what you get rather regretting for nothing
when you're at some good place people will not ask what rom you're using but device , brand
what will be your choice a piece of just sh*t on cherry top of it or cake????

Broadcomm CPU and the lack of its sources rather than Qualcomm or Tegra
My Qualcomm based LGP500 had lots of development and is still getting CM10.1 Jenkins builds which have almost everything except a2dp fixed

Bro I also my grand thats why I choose it and I think a good smartphone must has lots of development,
M not talking about stock or custom roms only its about all development
And as I said m using galaxy mini tooo this small smartphone also has tooooooooo many roms mods scripts and many more development and getting new ones day by day.
Even my galaxy mini got a last update of 2.3.6 from Samsung but I used android 4+ based roms like cm 10.1 miui 4, paradroid etc in my love galaxy mini more thn 1 year ago
BDW balli is really a cool developer for grand

Best phone
galaxy grand is the premium segment phone supporting all the features of android. other phones like micromax or other china based phones did not support various sensors and supports only basic 2-3 sensors such as light sensor and proximity sensor.
i have used other android based devices of non branded companies. even also samsung s duos irritate me some times when it works slow or get hanged.
so far there is no single issue in galaxy grand to irritate.
it is enough for me to root the phone as 4.1.2 (currently using 4.2.2) is much stable and sufficient amount of ram is free for user.

Its a new phone ... give some tym for development ...

M also happy with what we got but the question is about the development bro,
It's a cool smartphone phone and most of the grand user love it

Can we get duak sim function on CM for our galaxy grand?
I think due to lack of dual sim capability on CM, most of the users of SGG avoid to use cm.
Atleast in my case, I am waiting for that feature in cm.

but happy with the performance of these ROMs developed by our Gr8 devs... i can sacrifice one sim for the performance.

You can sacrifice but not everyone can do this.
Specialy in those case who uses one sim for work and other sim for home use.

You guys can just flash ROMs for some minutes to just give the damn logcat
As soon as I get my hands on a PC with Odin, gonna flash 4.2.2 and then this ROM

kitkat is in very unstable developing phase right now and i think cm10.2 better option for us now as it is in more or less stable right now.
so first cm 10.2 then cm11 for us.

Waiting for cm 10.2 for our Grand ...

You are right.. Yesterday I saw kitkat running (cm 11) on galaxy s3..Which is a preview version.... Samsung galaxy phones are one step ahead because the features that came in kitkat are already embedded in android 4.2.2. For example transparent notification bar.,contacts search etc.. Waiting for your cm 10. 2

Is the proximity sensor ok ??
Hi there !
I installed this rom on my phone and noticed that it may be the proximity sensor which is leading to reboot.. because the sensor jumps in right where we answer an incoming call ( phone reboots at that time) and again when we make an outgoing call ( again.. the phone reboots at that point).. so is there any method to disable the proximity sensor so that I can test it ?? .. just an opinion because I felt that it might be the reason..

i download cm 10.2 for galaxy grand from xda dovelopers site and flash it properly through cwm recovery. after booting SYSTUM UI always stopping …means popup window appers and say ” SYSTUM UI STOPPED WORKING “…

Why Samsung won't give update to Android kitkat as I am still attached to 4.1.2 and it's irritating not being able to install new apps even canvas are giving update for low end devices what's with Samsung

Actually Samsung has released 4.2 JB but s Samsung has not updated to 4.4 its coz Samsung only targets New and flagship mobiles for updates..So we lag behind and finally dropped of from list...It's not that they can't give they can but they won't...Its Samsung Rules..

Know any other broadcom based android that has been updated to 4.4?? Even the newer grand neo wid bcm23550 comes wid 4.2 ... Blame broadcom not sammy

Name a canvas wid 4.3 ... Mtk6589 hasnt received even 4.3 yet

if u have rooted ur phone u can flash cm11 based roms it is based on kitkat 4.4 n its far more better in terms of performance n battery life as compared to stock roms

There is No Custom ROM based on 4.3 Jelly bean and present custom ROM doesnt support it to my knowledge...

I have a Gear Fit, and it works fine on my Cyanogenmod 11, I have installed the Gear Fit Manager app, my own real app, not the fake. If you want that apk I can give you.

Hi Guys, I am trying to port the Blekota N4 Rom to our S3 Neo
When I finish I will be back
I am now in exam period so it will take time
But just leting you know, that the Blekota N4 will maybe be ported to our S3 Neo

Thank you too I hope I will have testers for this rom, its very difficult to this because this rom is 4.4.4 and we have the 4.4.2 I will give my best and hope its going to work for us. Right now at the moment I am porting it to our s3 neo wich is going to take some time, because I am in exam period till the 13.07 after that date I will really work on it!

When I was trying to port ditto note 4 ROM I found out that I wasn't able to do that because from gsmarena the only differenze seem the RAM but if you do some researchs you find out that the soc is completly different and while the galaxy s3 has an exynos processor, the galaxy s3 neo has got a Qualcomm snapdragon 400 processor. The only similar thing is the screen. I think that It would be more easy to port rom from galaxy s5 mini or galaxy grand 2 that has the same soc, the msm8226. Anyhow this doesn't mean that ypu won't be able to port this rom. I hope you successfully port the rom; good look :good:

Yes I know we need the codes wich samsumng will never release but yes I know I will try it, this porting will take some time because the rom is very very big I have a lot of work to do with this rom I will try it if not, than I will try to port some other rom to our s3 neo

So I am trying to port this rom for our s3 neo but the problem is it is always crashing on s3 neo boot up screen I am solving this problem and I hope I can fix it

you must change a lot of lib files and files to make it boot cuz its a totaly diffrent procesor and gpu

Yes haha I know a lot of because its a different gpu :/ but I just want to boot it up and than I will start to fix the bugs but I will try now to replace a lot of lib files from stock and than I will hope to boot it up

So after many testing of replacing files and many more I cant get the s3 neo to boot up I changed so many files and just nothing I cant boot the device I searched in internet and many more but still nothing the s3 and s3 neo are different devices in many things so the ram gpu cpu and many more is different and this is why I cant get the device to boot it up I really tried but nothing
Please dont be angry, if you want, you can remove all your thanks, but I really tried to port it

It has to be 4.4.2 version and its very easy to port it because you have just to replace boot.img and thats it but we have till now on every 4.4.2 a grand 2 ported rom

No no dude. Its just alright. You did your best but failed. I am not angry etc. You can try to port something else. Good luck
