Question about flashing and backup... - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey guys,
I'm new to galaxy Note II. I was wondering if I could get a firmware with blue icons and without any AT&T crapware. Maybe a 4.2 version if possible. What is the best clean firmware which is closest to the generic android with blue icons. I prefer no mods or change in icons. On-buttons would be nice though.
Also how can I backup this rom completely so I can go back to the AT&T's firmware when I'm done with my contract. Any help would be appreciated .
Thank you,
SnowTauren

sg2 is it possible????

Hi guys,
i was wondering if its possible to flash my galaxy nexus to samsung galaxy s2 rom.
what i want is the exact gs2 rom(same launcher, contacts etc. but the official gs2 software) on my nexus device.
is there a way to do that? maybe with odin , to flash the nexus with sg2 kernel and rom ?
please help
Now now lets play nice, simpley telling the guy he needs a touch wiz rom or theme would be plenty, I think I saw a couple of these around in the dev area and theme areas. Touchwiz is the keyword as that's the style your after.

I really cannot understand such requests, if I really want touchwiz then i would sell my nexus and buy a GS2 or wait for GS3.
I am coming from an sgs, on the sgs the first thing I did was rooting, flashing cwm and then flashed a rom, after that I installed launcher pro to get rid of touchwiz, later I switched to cm7.
Now finally I have a nexus and for sure I will never go back to bloatware loaded device, my next device will be again a nexus.
Who in their right mind would want TouchWiz instead of a beautiful stock Android 4 experience?

It's called free will. Some people want things you don't, get over it.

Your absolutely right and its part of the fun of android all the freedom you get to do pretty much what ever you want. My view on miui is the same, I'm not a fan but its cool to have the option.

There's devs working on a few ports already, very early progress tho. I'm sure there's going to be more ports from others down the road. You can follow the progress here....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1535715
Android is all about options. It's a open source operating system people can do whatever they want. It's not like if a developer wants to invest his or her time into porting touchwiz would ruin your day.

While I think options are good for Android I have to agree about why would you get a Galaxy Nexus if you want TouchWiz? I say this because its very similar spec wise to the SGS2 and I'm sure the SGS3 will blow it out of the water. Unless you are just using it until the SGS3 comes out. Either way there is no need to call this guy/girl names because Android is all about options.
first I wanna clear things out, he didn't ask for just touchwiz launcher, he asked for a full gs2 rom, its a different story if he asked just for the launcher, that's the reason why I said he should better get a gs2 or wait for gs3.

[Q] Status Bar Question

Hi all, new ROOT android user here. I am running Juggernaut 5.0 (2.3.6) with the kernel it came with, and LB7 Blaze radio. I love Juggernaut and all that, but I was wondering if anyone knew an easy way to get the status bar icons for 4G and the status bar, and maybe a new clock, similar to the image that I attached. I am sorry for being a noob, just not too good with this yet. Any help will be greatly appreciated.
I just want something different. I love the look of ICS versus the functionality of GB roms on this device. ICS roms are still ports and have major bugs. I just want something stable with a nice look. If anyone knows how to or would take the time to explain if I can make the icons look like that then that would be great and much appreciated.
Thank you in advance guys
I suggest you download rom toolbox and upgrade to pro. There are a bunch of icons that you can change to your liking. It never really worked for my phone but it could just be the rom I was on.

Thank you for the reply. I did get rom toolbox pro awhile back and none of those icons are decent. I am just wondering if there is a way to do it that doesn't cost an arm and a leg to work around and do it

There are a few good themes for jugs in the themes and apps section. They're not gonna look like the att ics, but qasimzia has a nice stock blue ics theme....

If you can't find a premade theme to your liking and you're feeling adventurous, you can learn how to use adb and some basic theming to make it look exactly as you want. You can pm me if you're interested and I'll walk you through it.

As per this sticky http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1736474 I'd say no.
The euro s3 also has a quad core, while we have a dual core so I doubt there are enough similarities to cross roms.
I'm currently on a captivate patiently waiting to upgrade to an s3, so I've been doing some reading.

I am sorry, how can i move this post to General questions section.
You'll have to get the mods to move it.

Looking for CM10 ROM

Noob question. Just got and rooted an ATT Note 2, coming from a GS3. I'm looking for a ROM comparable to Root box or Liquid Smooth for the Note 2, but have been unsuccessful. Mainly interested in the ROM control features that allow tweaking of the LED and status bar as well as screen shots and recovery boot in the power menu. I've looked here but cannot find one. I apologize in advance, being new to the rooting/rom community, but you've got to start somewhere. Thanks in advance.
I believe JellyBeer has all of the above, but I don't use all of those features.
Just flash and try it

On a side note-do you know of any others?

Compatible Custom roms Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105

I rooted my phone and found very few roms were available for my phone (UK Galaxy Note 2 LTE GT-N7105) I ventured over to AT&T Galaxy Note 2 Android Development forum to find more custom roms. After asking around found couple so far which I have tested myself as follows:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1986893 This is my favourite and developer is very helpful, highly recommended.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2114833 Works with TWRP and not CWM. Tried and tested by myself.

I'm too nervous to try AT&T roms on the HK phone. I bricked my Note 1 twice using wrong roms.
Not sure how reliable this is, but is says here that AT&T AND TMobile roms will work.
Anyone ready to try? From what I have read, the hardware is the same, it's just a couple things like the modem and kernel you have to remember about.
In fact, there is a ROM in the TMobile section that I am looking at right now, and the Dev says his ROM will work.... Read it here
I now use the RootBox ROM... Man its GREAT! haha i love the Tablet UI and customisation thats avaliable

What is with the HK Note II being treated differently?
I keep reading people saying that you can't flash the stock firmware to the Note II LTE if it's a HK one. Why not? it's still a GT-N7105.
What's different about it??
(I have one and want to know!)
i don't know, but my HK version is so picky about custom Roms. The only one that I can find so far that will run on it so far is Paranoid JB.
What happens when you try other ROMs?
And are you sure it's a N7105?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2
The phone flickers on the Samsung screen and then blacks and never finishes loading. I either have to reload stock or the Paranoid to use it.
But you have another N7105 that works fine?
Can you provide some more details, at the moment it's just another anecdotal "Doesn't work"
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk 2
No. I just have one.
