(Q) 2.3.7 Roms

Hello Everybody,
Am kinda new to the development stuff on Android, so excuse me if am asking a silly questions
i wanted to ask about the 2.3.7 Roms for Desire HD, i have noticed some issues about these roms and i want some clarifications about how to fix about it
1- I can not link the contacts with facebook or twitter or any other social app.
2- When i connect the phone to the pc i got only one feature that to mount the sd card storage instead of having the normal options from 2.3.5 roms (charge only, htc sync...etc)
3-The market can not recognize my device.
4- I can not automatically restore the apps from the market after setting the rom up
5- The maps, Latitude and all location apps could not get automatic permission to access my Gmail account
That's mainly the points i had noticed so far
so if somebody can advice about how to fix about this issues i will be very thankful

May I ask what ROM are you using right now? Judging by your words, I bet you are using AOSP rom, yes?

Yeah I bet your right. It is either an AOSP rom or MIUI rom. Both will do this.
As for Google and Facebook, Google no longer supports syncing to Facebook (thank god) on its own. Install the Facebook app if you want it to sync to FB.

what is the difference among 2.3.x?

right now am using this rom

this happens for every rom i use with 2.3.7 version (it's volume is always around 100 MB)
but for the roms with 2.3.5 version and it's weight is above 300 MB everything goes fine
Does this make any sense for you?

OK your using an AOSP rom which means it is Android Open source Project. These roms use nothing made by the manufacturer. Including the drivers for the phone. There are some draw backs to it though as the open source drivers used doesn't make full use of the hardware. Think of it like a PC. Yes you can find open source drivers for your hardware but the drivers from the OEM will always be better as it is built for the device.

1. Not sure (Possibly related to a similar issue as question 4, Settings>Accounts&Sync>Add Account>Add Facebook Account
2. I believe that is a Sense only feature
3. Give it about 2-3 hours and the market will recognise you device again (Be sure to access the market from your mobile at lease once and except the T&C's).
4. Make sure the ROM you flashed has GApps installed with it and that you have linked the accounts (I.E had the prompt to sign in to google, if not the you will find the option in Settings>Accounts&Sync>Add Account>Google Account, if not then be sure to flash it after first boot of ROM (A quick search of the form will find you a copy of GApps).
5. Don't know the answer to this one either.

Okay, you are now using Absolution ROM, based from CyanogenMod 7.2RC, which is indeed an AOSP rom. As clarified by posts above, Facebook and other social app linking are Sense optimized. BUT, the syncing feature is still available in the ROM, but without automatic syncing. Either you have to manually set and link every contact in your phone, or simply merge them in the People app setting.
The HTC Sync and all the other stuffs you've mentioned before is HTC Sense exclusive.
About the market unable to recognise your phone, try to clean up the market cache/data in application setting.
Due to different framework of AOSP, the automatic app restore is disabled.
You can either clear the Google Map cache/data or uninstall and update the app to the latest version available, 6.0.2.

Nope all 2.3.7 roms are AOSP but you also have MIUI which is not AOSP

Yes sense based roms are on 2.3.5. Not alot of diff to be honest. As MIUI, a search will tell you that. Nothing personal I just don't like it.

I think this is ROM's problems, you can view this ROM's developer's post, maybe it can help you .

MIUI Is AOSP also
i think u want the facebook for htc sense to do so. if ir using aosp roms u can download an app that is called contaapp or something like that. the link that u know is just for sense roms

MIUI is not AOSP. MIUI is a closed source kang of CM. But with it being closed source it is not considered AOSP

[Q] AOKP 4.1.2 Jelly Bean v2.0

Hello Guys ,
i've dowloaded and installed this ROM and its works good but besides the known bugs i've encountered in some i didnt find on the forums :
- data toggele doesnt work so good , sometimes i need to switch to airplain mode on/off to get 3G data to work
- i cant mount USB mass storage on my PC i dont have this option when connecting the device .
how can wrk around it ?

I'm using this ROM daily too, and I can tell you just this: if you have read the whole thread in the Development section then you would know that those are the current issues that vijendrahs tries to solve, besides that he even posted that he has fixed those issues within the new updated version of this ROM, but he won't post/upload the new ROM before the "kanging issues resolve" - whatever that means.
I'm still new to the Android world, and I have my Desire for like 4months now, but his is the best JB ROM so far and I rreally appreciate his work, I would even donate some money if I could ( we have some problems with paypal in my country - still waiting for them to fix those ), but I just can't understand why someone would steal or repost the same ROM on another forum and say that it is his work/ROM ??? everybody knows that vijendrahs is the main developer for the 3 ROM's, and those are the MIUI JB ROM, the CM 10 JB ROM, and the AOKP JB ROM, so please stop those childish things...
I even considering to go into development myself, still haven't found the right amount of time for that, but as soon as I can - I will give it a shoot
If someone has some info what I have to know, or where to start, please let me know - thanks in advance

unfortunately no new kernel I tired to flash the new kernel image onto it but the Wifi module is not running so enjoy as it is
Keyboard is present this time unlike the last one...

1.REMOVED : ANTI-SPAM, Backup, Backup_restore_confirmation, Browser,Bug_report, Cloud Service, E-MAIL, Exchange, LatinIME (Google keyboard), MiUi_HOME, Theme Manager, Voice_Dialer, Weather, Weather_Provider.
2.ADDED : ActionLuancher Pro(it was there in 19.07 but it is causing much lag so removed it), ADW_Launcher, Google TTS
one important thing is there THIS ROM DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY KEYBOARD the reason is that when i try to put them in ZIP and installed it I am getting an error showing "GoogleKeybaord stopped/ Sywpe stopped" instead I've given two separate .apk of Google_Keyboard(Gesture) and Swype(modified apk)
after installing the ROM, when you boot into it select English then skip the network and location settings (REMOVE SIM CARD TO AVOID MOBILE DATA CONNECTION as it will cost you if you are not subscribed for any data pack), Now goto file manager and install any one keyboard you like.
THE SIZE OF NEW ROM+Gapps is 179MB and the Original size was 201MB

I am using this ROM and its very very stable than any other great battery and no boot loops
further more you get realllllly coool looks...
NO WiFi BUG I DID NOTICED IT BUT IT IS BECAUSE I AM TRYING TO MODIFY SOME APPS AND LAUNCHER AND ACCIDENTALLY REMOVED A MAIN COMPONENT AND GOT STUCK WITH WiFi PROBLEM...
AFTER INSTALLING THAT THING M BACK ON STABLE ONE...
IF YOU WANNA TRY MORE MODIFIED VERSION OF THIS ROM, I'LL MAKE IT AVAIL BY THIS WEEKEND

I can't find the zip to install additional languages. Has it been abandoned or is the pack already included in the ROM itself?

which language you want this pack have Chinese, simplified Chinese and English...
EDIT: from here you can get the language you want

19.07 testing the modified ROM hope that it'll work, I will update the change log as soon as the testing finishes:angel:

Actually, on V5 for both DEFY and DEFY+ on MIUI.com you can see this: Author: DreamTeam
On the other hand, for V2 on the DEFY page it says: Author: MIUI
That's what's confusing me... I'll try it anyway, hopefully it's much better than the previous builds (which were all ports afaik...)!

OHK! m also trying to make my port with different launchers and some removal of unnecessary apps WILL POST SOOON :angel:

will your rom work on defy also, when we can expect it? I see that it has a separate miui v5 download link for defy and defy+...

Previous releases were supposed to be private.
3.7.12 is the unofficial public release.
Defy and Defy+ each have their own release, but they should be the same. They probably separated them to prevent people from asking why there's only one release for both phones.
Why are you even asking? Both versions are available, just download yours!

I ask beacuase I would like to test coolshahabaz version without unnecessary apps....

sry buddy i've DefyPlus only so i was unable to chk my ROM on it....but i am uploading that now on my dropbox will share the link ASAP.....You can give a try and let me kno about it :angel:

I tried 3.7.12 from miuiandroid and I get no sound when calling someone. I have to turn hands-free on to hear something.
The ROM is less snappy than mokee but it looks great. The no sound bug I face is quite ugly, though.

[Q] no ROM makes my xperia S works well

Hi everyone, i have a Xperia S from 2 year ago. I have bootloader unlock and i tried a lot of roms. But since a 9 months my xperia S is very lag, and freeze very often. For example if i exit of any app the icons launcher and the app menu are slow to appear. Apps like Instagram get unexpected close if i watch very image. This problems was happend with any rom that i flash. I don't know what happen.
I made a full format, format the intern storage and nothing was better. What do you recommend me? Stop to flash roms and flash the original from Sony with flashtool?

Have you tried to change the kernel?, because maybe that's the problem...
I can't help you with that because i've locked bootloader, but you can try stock based roms to try if continues working slow... I've just now using Nature Xperia and works fine.

A factory restore would definitely help you identify the issue. If it is software related, you will find out once you flash with the stock firmware. If it is still slow after you do a full stock flash, then it might be hardware related, in which case, it might simply mean that your device has had it and it is time to get a new one! You can't rule out that either...

Try an AOSP based ROM or a ROM with it's own kernel like Carbon ROM. Maybe that will help.

Yes try Android 4.3 from CM10.1 use MAKO version and not the CAF version. This is really decent rom. And make sure you move apps regularly to sd after installation
do not use and clock widgets or live wallpapers. Install ES Task manager and have shortcut in homepage so that you can kill all instantly and freesome space if reqd.

I would recommend a Android 4.4 as they have more support plus what He said about widgets and live wallpapers.

Try v5, because v6 is buggy.

No cloudy like MM ROM?

It's been almost a month since the mm has released for this device. Me being a d855 user was wondering that why there aren't any debloated, zip aligned and all those kinda feature added ROMs based on stock available yet. I mean when lollipop repressed we had hundreds of stock based ROMs which were much faster than the crappy slow stock by LG directly.
If there exists so and if I failed to see it, please let Me know.
If there are any specific reasons why not, please share as answer to this query.

Yes I agree there are not vast amounts like on lollipop but I think more are in the pipeline after all it's only been about a month since the update .

copy to sdcard, go to recovery and wipe everything at least 3 times before flashing the version 1.6. don't wipe dalvik cache after installation, boot the system do the basic config. reboot to recovery and flash the update don't wipe anything.

yes, didn't find anything major, just one or two bad translations under settings

can you give me some feedback? like did it meet you expectations? whats the battery life for you?(you have at least 24h of use since flash righ?)

Battery life is good for me.. Wifi always on and browsing internet.. Listen music 2h at 6% it's sot 4h 14min.. Usage on battery 19h 29min... Not bad:good: and i am heavy user. This rom is speedy and smooth
