I decided to reset my Galaxy Nexus (GSM, I think!) to it's factory settings, I should also mention that I have used Wugfresh's toolkit to flash Android 4.2.2 to replace its stock image that the phone came with, I flashed it to Yakju because it took a lot of time for an OTA update, I couldn't wait that long so I flashed it!
So my phone's bootloader is unlocked and it's rooted, all using Wugfresh's toolkit.
SuperSU is installed. Busy Box was installed before resetting.
So I reset the phone to its factory settings, and then when it boots back up it asks for your google account, that's where the problem is.
It takes a lot of time to connect to my WiFi network, and when it tries to connect to my Google account it says that it can't establish a reliable connection to the server.
And the WiFi Icon on the status bar is grey, as if their is no internet connection, although if I open the browser it works just fine, and also the laptop is connected to the same network and is working fine.
Please help, I'm in Pain!
IT WORKED PEOPLE IT WORKED
I'm probably the happiest guy on earth!
here is what I have done:
You must be rooted!
1-DownloadTotal Commander and installed it
2-go to /etc/hosts, click on it and choose Edit file.
3-I had two lines
127.0.0.1 localhost
127.55.56.83 android.clients.google.com mtalk.google.com
I just added a # at the beginning of the second line to make it
#127.55.56.83 blah blah
saved the file, and rebooted my device and tried adding the google account. I don't know if it made any difference but I had my SIM card removed the whole time.

Hey guys!
So as the topic says Chrome to Phone doesn't work for me.
Everything is fine on the initial setup, but when I try to send a link or whatever I get the "Sent to phone" message... and nothing happens.
Specs in signature.
same for me...works with another gmail account on my phone but not my main one.
Nobody seems to know a fix so ive sacked it off now and use LinkPush instead.
I had a similar issue with it a week or two back. I just removed it all, clean boots each time and reinstalled it manually from the APK rather than the market. Didn't open it, rebooted and then proceeded with the setup after being logged in on the PC. Oddly, it works fine ever since.

I had the issue after flashing, wiping or other various changes.
I just cleanly remove it then I get it back from the market.
First, get the chrome extension connected then open your mobile Chrome-to-phone app and login with it.
That made it work for me
i've never had a problem with it - works fine for me - have it signed in at work and a home too
you need to go to chrome to phone - settings -disconnect phone and then follow steps to reconnect
Hello.
I recently got myself a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 7in and everything seemed to be working just fine until the system eventually prompted me to update the Samsung software. I followed the steps, the tablet downloaded the update files itself and rebooted in order to install the updates. Problem is, during the reboot/installation process the screen remained black with just 2 lines of pixels on across the screen, I though this was part of the booting process but it just stood there for more than 10 minutes so I decided to turn it back on. Everything seemed to be fine, but then an error message came up saying there could be problems with the software (i didn't pay too much attention), but after this it won't let me install any apps. After an app is done downloading a message pops up saying "unknown error code during application install -110", plus my computer (or any other computer) doesn't detect when it's plugged in via USB cable. I've tried doing several factory resets and wipes and still have the same issues. Tried installing Kies but it won't detect it either.
How can I repair the firmware without having to connect the tablet to my computer? Is there anything I can download directly to it or transfer via Bluetooth to re-install the software?
Any help will be very much appreciated
Try resetting it back to factory defaults. You can google it easily.

my friend has the same problem. did you fix the issue? if so how?
I am using the Apex Launcher but I think this is possible with stock launcher as well hopefully it helps someone. This is one way to do a factory reset is:
You will need your MSL TO DO THIS. If you don't know it put the "Factory Mode" shortcut on your home screen then skip down to the 2nd part of this post & install the msl app.
FACTORY RESET:
1) long click on the home screen
2) click on shortcut
3) select Activities
4)Scroll down to "Factory Mode" tap it then select the dropled down one. This will put a Shortcut on the Home Screen.
5) Find the Factory Mode shortcut you just made & tap it to open it.
6) Dial ##786# then on the screen that pops up
7) select "RESET"
8)enter your msl in the box that popped up then select ok then the device will reboot & when it powers backup it will be like it was from the factory & if you don't know your MSL follow the instructions below.
TO GET MSL:
1) In a browser type bit.ly/mslutility - can sideload if needed
2)install app
3) Open app & click get MSL it will most likely fail this is fine.
4) click on the factory mode shortcut you made to open it
5) dial ##3282# & put in 6 zeros-it will tell you that it's incorrect this is fine. Go back to home screen
6) Open the MSL App & click on Get MSL-this time it should give you your devices 6 digit MSL Code. Write it down. Then do step # 6 above to reset your Device.
This shortcut will allow you to put the Sprint SGT3 into DIAG MODE(##3424#) , get into the ##data#(##3282#) menu, do the factory reset ##RTN# (##786#) & most likely any other Dialer/hidden menu's for this device.
Thanks to the MSL App builder(not sure who it is so let me know please)

Error code: ERR_PROXY_CONNECTION_FAILED
Running Nexus 7 2013 (2nd Gen) WiFi, kitkat, unlocked,
Wifi shows strong connection, detailed error message,
Unable to connect to the proxy server, A proxy server is a server that acts as an intermediary between your device and other servers.
Your system is configured to use a proxy, but Google Chrome cannot connect to it. All my other wifi devices, phones and laptop connect OK.
If you use a proxy server...
Check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. (end of error mssg)
This is beyond me, I was using wugfresh to root, got it unlocked but never got it to root, while doing so, there are two kitkat os options, and when I finally tried the second one, this happened. All else works fine, just this wifi connection error, I reset wugfresh to the first kitkat os version and tried rooting again but no change in proxy error. Not blaming wugfresh, just explaining what I was doing. Googled for a solution but they all refer to Chrome on a PC, I cannot find proxy setting info on the Nexus 7 2013 wifi.
I've tried all the obvious, shut off and restart, plus, wiped and factory restore to original.
Hey guys just fot this tablet Monday, unrooted fresh out the box, it will download apps for a bit them get hung up and stop downloading and eventually show this error. Ive googled it and tried all the tricks that include clearing data im gp app/gp services/ framework. Unlinked my google account, rebooted etc.
2 strange things i noticed.
- my htc m8 on the same nerwork has never had these issues
-I haven't had this happen at my work network
I returned my tab S from Monday, now the new one does it too. I have a brand new Asus RT-AC68U beast of a wifi router. It briefly downloaded some apps once i took down the firewall, then errored out again...
I dunno what else to do i want to keep this tablet I hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance!
perhaps this workaround can help you:
on your pc you can install the chrome browser extension APK Downloader , then when you go to play store, you have an extra button download apk next to the app (all on pc in chrome browser) , once you downloaded the apk you can copy it to the tablet and install it.
Make sure that once you have copied the apk to your device you have enabled "unknown sources" in the settings or else it won't allow you to manually install an apk.
Whenever I have encountered an issue like this in the past I have Odin flashed the device to the latest stock firmware and then during the set up process, made sure that every minute detail entered is correct (or bypass google account installation and wifi connection and install them after the device start up).
Hmm thanks for the suggestions guys. Come to find out my m8 has this issue now so it must be router related somehow...
I too took down firewall of router, saved new settings, rebooted router, turned router off for 5 mins, turned it back on. Restarted lg g3 and then it worked for me. No more Error 495!
Hi all,
I got a strange problem after I upgraded - it started to show that I don't have any SIM and, therefore, no reception or mobile internet. The weirdest thing - the first few seconds after reset/restart it shows full 4g, but then reception triangle gets blank and missing SIM icon appears. And funny thing - the connection is active in this short period - I received a text with Viber access code. An impression was that network is fine before something loads and blocks it.
So, I tried to flash back the Stock Room with December patch, which I flashed to my Stock Retail Rom September patch (BL unlocked, rooted) before sideloading soaks. RDS failed on the third step as, I guess, it checks what you flash on to what. I shrugged and decided to flash custom Rom to be able then to flash 7,1 stock. I downloaded both ROM and gapps, flashed TWRP and booted to recovery. TWRP on it's first launch asked something and started to mount something, preparing for normal work. However, after it finished, it rebooted again and booted into stock recovery. Well, here I clicked everything I could, I mounted System (don't ask)), few other venues and, finally, erase userdata. It asked data only or personalized content as well - I chose the later. In the logs it said userdata, cache and something to do with carrier was deleted.
I clicked restart and it loaded into bootlaoder again. Hm, checked the logs and it said bootmethod in UKG was set as BL (fastboot reason). Restarted again. The phone said it was being encrypted and when finished - started normally. The setup menu asked for the language and the network triangle was full and showed 4G. I selected the language, setup WiFi and triangle disappeared. I put in my email address to setup Google account and froze - I have 2-step verification. So I inputted my password and restarted the phone in a hope to get the text while the connection is active. This time phone booted normally and ****ing miracle!!!! the network is back!
No idea what helped it, but if you have this trouble - maybe it will help you.
