Hi my t-999 is getting a no sim error when i have my sim in and i dont know how to fix it.
EDIT: Also my micro sd wont mount
Sounds like the SIM/MicroSD reader has failed or become disconnected.
See the rectangle in the lower left, that is the connector:

Warranty it, place an insurance replacement request, or take it apart and check it is was disconnected, if so reconnect it, if not replace that part.
Before you do all that, if you were rooted and modded, Odin flash the Stock firmware and try again.
Also try different SIM and sd cards, just to be sure. Go to a T-Mobile store if you don't have any of your own.

No way to know for sure without physical inspection.
If I had to guess I'd say the cable connecting the screen may have come loose.

Yeah. Was about to think that cable too. Gotta wait till i get opening kit and report after!
Okay, after disassembling and investigating i found the problem.
When i press this part of the phone with finger(red circle), it starts to flicker and bug like in the video above..
What this cable actually does, and how i could fix it..? Is it connecting to screen? Didnt found good guide to disassemble more so didnt do it.
Do i need to replace whole piece of phone.. (rounded with cyan color)?
without the back cover it works way better than with it.

Should i just order this?

Or hmm. I just check is the cable connected properly. Need to disassemble whole phone. sigh.
I think the SIM tray on my GSM Galaxy Nexus has taken a ****. Today, my data connection just dropped for no reason, showing no bars, just an outline. I figured my SIM card had slipped or some software bug, so I removed and reinserted my SIM and rebooted, but still nothing. I've messed with the SIM several times and flashed CM10.1 clean, still nothing. Tried flashing a backup, and again, still nothing. So I'm pretty sure it's a HARDWARE issue rather than a software issue.
So I swapped SIMs with my friend, her SIM wouldn't work either, but mine worked perfectly fine in her phone.
Is there anything I've missed? Can the T-Mobile store check my SIM slot to ensure that is indeed the issue?
Thanks in advance for the help....
Anyone have a suggestion?

my simslot wasn't working anymore so i brought it to the dutch samsung service center they did 27 days to return it not fixed. i have placed a little piece of magazine cover between the outside of my simslot and the sim it self and now it is working just fine. and i have learned a lesson try to repair it yourself first before sending it to samsung.

It's nothing. Blank spaces where in later models new ports may be added to the housing. If you look below the battery there are 3 more. 2 next to the micro sim and 1 next to the sd card. I may be wrong but that's what they appear to be to me.

Thanks, Cougar
In my opinion, i had assume its a water mark sticker for water damage. im not sure though.

The small hole on the opposite side of the flash. That's the water damage sticker. In the little hole.
This is the only part, the entire ribbon cable connecting the buttons and either the sim or SD card slot(not sure which is which) to the motherboard, that is not shown in any guides I've found on how to replace it.

It looks to me like you might have to fish the whole thing through the opening for the card slot but I just wanted to double check. Anyone?
Never mind. I was right. You gotta peel back the foam tape on back back to reveal the SD card slot, which turns out as you can see connected to another part, some sensor in the front I guess related to the front cam. You gotta carefully pry it upwards as it's glued down. thin razor blade. Idk, at this point I barely know what I'm looking at lol. This phone is the worst to dig into. Get yourself some near sighted glasses or something. Recently learned this phone has the worst score for repair ability. I do confirm this. Good luck if you're planning on replacing anything in here.
So i dropped my zenfone 2 today. From what i read on internet it seems my lower power board got damaged is it it?
Phone is charging but quick charge isn't working.
Is there a way to fix it by myself?
Thanks in advance.
Edit: So i actually managed to bring sound and vibration back to life, but cant get sim and sd back to work, i can see a little crack on part of power board in plastic where u need to put the "tape" in. Could it be that due to this crack pins working for micro sd and sim arent working? Should i buy new power board to check it?
Edit 2: it also fixed quick charge.
how'd you fix your sound? I dropped mine and lost all sound earpiece and speakers
A connector came loose and the daughter board stopped working.
Reattach it, there are two connections that it can be.
