Transparent Nav Bar and Status Bar - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I've searched a bunch and found some threads in the S3 section, but I'm not sure they apply for 4.2.2: is there a way to get a transparent or semi-transparent status bar and nav bar? I'm running MMuzzy's French Vanilla ROM, which is fairly close to stock configuration.
Do I have to edit systemUI and tweak the color?
Any help would be appreciated.

try paranoid android for this..or any rom with hybrid properties...i have no idea regarding editing..!!!

Thanks for the advice. I was planning on stay with the ROM I have since it's rock solid stable. I was just wondering if there was another way?

Try Hologlass theme for cm10 based Roms, I'm using that on PA and love it.

+1
Also don't want to change ROM just for this mod, so I just got rid of it altogether(it's completely transparent now! LOL) and get to enjoy the full 4.65" screen, using pie:

https://picasaweb.google.com/m/zoom...07331394&viewportWidth=320&viewportHeight=416

I thought there was a way to decompile systemui and can the color/transparency code, but maybe I'm wrong?

I built the framework-res and SystemUI akp's to work with Black Ice build 26.26.
The background I did not changed to blue in evilisto's thread because I felt it did not look good with this rom.

and
Win7StockRecent.zip to remove mod
AOKP Milestone 4 - Untested
Win7Recent-M4.zip to apply mod
and

This version should have the blue background

that looks awesome, any chance for an aokp version?

I'm on aokp b28 any chance of getting this for that? Also how does this differ from using from control in aokp and setting the horizontal recent?
When it is AOKP b29 version compatible then I will try it out. I'd really like to try this out.

Guys, I've successfuly ported this to build 29 for my theme, and it will be incorporated into future builds of my Elegance theme.
You guys are all running an older version of this,
You should update the size and spacing for the galaxy nexus to remove the black bar at the bottom of the screenshots
I applied the xml edits so i could keep this in my theme and it worked fine, except the status bar has a white background now. Hmm...i dunno.
This mod is great! And can i just say your soft keys and wallpaper are insane!!!!!!!!! Download link please?
Can I get the NAV buttons from the first post please?

I'm liking this theme... Thank. Keep up the good work
Wow very nice appdroid, theme looks great!! Gonna have to give it a try. Just wondering if you have any different battery mods like digital battery? I change the density to 190 and small battery icons get too small for me to read easily... If so I'll give this a try, I'm on seanz ucle2 4.2e-11.

Flashed on Sky ICS 4.2E-10. No notification bar or wallpaper. Everything else seems to be ok.
Can u flash Mohan's 15 mod toggles that's in Skyrocket form and flash this on top of that! I think that will fix the problem!

in the Toolbox, on the same screen that's in your picture, click on the pencil in the top right corner to manually edit build.prop file. Scroll all the way towards the bottom and change ro.sf.lcd_density value to 320.
Thanks netbuzz! That's a life saver...

You should try Paranoid Android. It's CM10 but with the ability to adjust the DPI on a per app basis.
Oh-I used Paranoid Android! Loved it too, I just like flashing too much to stay on one rom too long...plus I really like the modified softkeys from the cm10 preview build and don't know if they'll work on pa

Ha, I know that feeling! "Hmm... this ROM is totally bug free.. better flash a different one!" If you do go back to PA I'd be willing to bet the soft keys mod would work since it's CM10 with extra bacon.
Haha! Right? I'll be keeping the .zip of the softkeys mod on my sd just in case....

[Q] What roms have a sideways battery in the status bar?

I'm looking for a new rom, preferably 4.2.2 but I want to be able to have a sideways battery similar to miui but without all the bugs that miui has. Just looking for a stable rom, that I can run as a daily. I just really like the iphone style status bar

You can run an AOSP ROM and put a theme in there that is iPhone-ish. Go to the Themes & Apps section and look at the stickie by Mark Manning. In there I have a link to the Mega Theme Chooser thread. I know there is an iPhone theme in there.
Most AOSP ROMs have battery customizations anyways. I'm not using a iPhone theme but a Theme Chooser theme Matte+.

I knew this was going to be an answer but there is not that many themes I actually like. I have found carbon ROM now and am running simplex theme. Its decent but I wish there was white instead of red accents in it. Here's my set up now.... Loving the transparency settings in carbon
^ im running the same thing wondering where you got the theme ?

Install ROM Toolbox from the PlayStore. Go to Statusbar icons and flash the battery style you like. Nandroid first as it may cause issues.

It's all java now, no images are used in KitKat anymore. I know cm has then defined in colors and arrays xml's. Not sure about AOKP.

Not sure, many Themers like myself are not happy about it. Not one battery mod for KitKat yet so I'm guessing no.

Using Xposed you can get an app called gravity box which allows you to change it to a couple different things. I use just the text option in gravity box as seen in the status bar
