Is there anyway to change my statusbar background ? I remember i could do this some time ago but i can't remember the ROM i was doing it on or if it was a mod.
I did searched the forum but i could only find transparent statusbar guides not replacing the background with an image.
Thanks!

I already searched the web and xda and can't find a thread which explains how to change them.
I want to change the color and maybe the style of my status bar icons.i read about different methods.
I don't really want to use a different rom, with go launcher ex i've got everything perfect except the status bar icons.
I read that the icons arw saved in framework-res.apk. but i can't find any sets of these file to change it out.
I have a stock rooted s2 with android 2.3.6
Thanks for your help

Go to you SystemUi.apk (in system/app folder), copy it to your PC.
Open it with rar or with zip7.
You will get acess to the res/drawable-hdpi folder.
Unrar or unzip this folder to your desktop. In it are all the icons that you wanna change... change them as you like... Put the folder back on the apk using the same rar or zip7.
Now - finally - you will have to resign the apk again (search how, 1st time it´s hard to get it right).
Push it back to the phone, backup the original as systemui.bak, and write this one over it.
Install it, reboot.... enjoy
Thanks me 10x if I helped .

Edit:
I meant to ask if you tried UOT kitchen??
http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
Its easy to use but if you get stuck just ask.
Even simpler, use the theme kitchen.
http://uot.dakra.lt/
You can even use it for odexed (stock) roms.
Thank you guys.
I will try the online tool.
I would like to press the thanks button but can't find the thanks button in the app and even in browser

There is actually an app called NinjaMorph that you can get from the play store, its what I used for my S2 to changed some icons and you can do it all on your phone, the app will unzip then zip the apk automatically, all you have to do is pick the PNG your replacing the old one with, make sure you got the new PNG in your phones SD card that's all.

Hi There everyone ...
i am new to this community , liked it alot ... i am using DHD with ARHD 6.3.1 ...
i was searching for some mods, , , found many .... but i can't get to a few ... are they yet not available for 6.3.1 ? or i can't find them .... please help me ...
1) Transparent Notification Bar
2) Transparent Quick Settings
3) 3d Tilting on Home Screen Settings ....
ANY ONE ?????!!!
stock ARHD doesnt have any of that, try flashing the custom skins
BlueHD, HoneyHD, Code RED, etc most of the skins will have the mods for transparent notification bar and these come with the RCMIX options in the settings menu where you can enable 3d tilt.
if u dont like any of the skins go to
http://uot.dakra.lt/kitchen/
and make ur own, u can get the necessary files from ARHD page for the themes cooking.

Next time, try Google search if you aren't comfortable with xda search.
Literally the first link when I searched for "status bar png systemUI.apk"
Please read the entire thread before you do anything. The instructions in the OP are flawed.

With the new roms this is not an option as it is no longer a png file file a combo of color codes thoughout the systemui and framework res. It took me 3 months to find all the changes to redirect it to a png

I'm not sure I understand your post. You mean I have to change .xml files to apply a transparent status bar ? That is not a problem with ZipThemer, right ?

What I mean depending on your rom is that you will have to adjust the color codes. Your issues is that the main place one of these changes needs to be made are in a place tat cant be adjusted with zip themer.

You would have to decompile the both Framework-res apk and the systemui.apk and make about 15 xml edits to redirect it to an image and then remove a few places. Then recompile the apks and then flash them. This would have to be done for each rom you flash.
What are you trying to do over all?

4.2.2 stock with some mods (beats louder, a custom battery in status bar, a new locking...)
I agree that I have no idea why CM doesn't add this in their most recent ROM's, making the statusbar transparent is such an improvement to the UI immediately
Does anyone have any clue how to change the transparency of the statusbar on 4.2.2?
I have tried without success with uot kitchen. I donno what i did wrong cos it caused me boot loops. I used to do this on CM7.2 without any issues..
I looking to make the status bar more transparent than is now, so i can see through it (very helpfull and cool)
Thank you!
Install Xposed framework , then add the GravityBox module. It will give you transparency settings for the status bar.

I've tested it. It does not work on 4.2.2 roms.
Thank you soooo much Chromium!!!
Not only it worked, but i could do so many other things, like adding a specific background image to it!
Thank you very much!
Now that I've managed to root my M9, is there a way to change the look of the status bar and navigation bar (icons)?
Do I need to be S-OFF?
I have done something similar on a previous (Sony) phone using Xposed. is Xposed compatible with the m9?
Thanks
PS. I'm using Stock Marshmallow rom
Change the theme... I think some themes change those too..

I've tried themes but they only change the nav bar icons.
Thanks
Xposed is running fine here, but I haven't used it for changing status or navigation bar.
Why not try substratum?
