Bricked Optimus G - Sprint LG Optimus G

Got a new Sprint Optimus G on Craigslist, and against my better judgement due to my previous experience of successfully unlocking/rooting Android devices, I did not completely read the directions for doing so. After I had it rooted and used FreeGee.apk, I did not backup the items from the FreeGee menu. The phone is now just sitting tight at the LG logo. Any advice?

Flash back to stock if you can get into download mode

Like foxsdaddy said, you'll probably need to Lgnpst back to stock if you can get it back to download mode...

There are a bunch of other threads on here that detail how to go about fixing boot errors, if that link doesn't help, keep searching! Theres a bunch of good information on here about it.

[Q] No Service after using Odin to install XWKDD insecure

I followed external instructions titled "How to Root Samsung Galaxy S2 easily" (sorry, can't link) to attempt to root my brand new Epic Touch on Sprint in the US. And while everything seemed to work, the phone now has No Service. Just a big old circle with a slash through it, no matter how many times I reboot or how long the battery is out of the phone.
I am fairly inexperienced with rooting phones... I've flashed a few roms to an old Droid X, but that's about it. I'd love if someone more advanced would advise me on the right steps here so I can avoid bricking this further. I'd like to come out of this unexpected situation with a successful root, but beggars can't be choosers; I'd be happy to just undo this and get the phone back to working order.
Thank you!

Warning to all nitro users

There is a guide out there. A horribly wrong guide. A guide that will permanently hard brick your P930 with NO CHANCE of ever getting it back. EVER. This guide is located at http://www.androidauthority.com/lg-nitro-hd-clockworkmod-cwm-recovery-48447/ and you MUST AVOID IT. This guide is also the first one that shows up when you search "Install Clockworkmod Recovery on LG Nitro HD". A word of warning to fellow users, DON'T FOLLOW IT.
Source: I followed it and screwed up my phone; sent it off to LG and they're probably gonna ship it back in a couple of days . So yeah.
All of the comments for the guide also complain about how it destroyed people's phones, so let's all contact them and get them to take it down.

@androidauth
That guide is the wrong way to do the old method....which is the problem...

Not that I'm encourage anyone to follow the manual CWM recovery update instructions posted on Android Authority, but just for sharing and information purposes the recovery partition on the LG Nitro HD is located on mmcblk0p13, not on mmcblk0p6. Also, for those who installed the ICS leak, CMW recovery does not work.
Here's a link to a posting from repherb listing the valid partitions used on the LG Nitro HD for each of the file image types.

New info
Turns out they have posted a second guide with the correct information (mm....0p13), but it hasn't even reached the front page of google search, so right now the aforementioned site is probably the most dangerous website for P930 users wanting to install CWM.
This is why they need to delete their old article, or, holy-****-here's-a-thought, they could simply redirect from the ****ed up guide URL to the new, correct one.

Now that this guide is deleted, many people will go to the other links under there, which also do the mm0p6 method.

Return to Stock - Without USB?

Hi folks. First post here and a bit of a weird one, I’m hoping some of you with more experience in rooting etc can point me in the right direction. I’ve got a GSM Galaxy Nexus which I previously rooted to get updates as I was stuck with some horrible build that had to go through Samsung and my carrier to update.
Now my USB port is faulty and I want to get it serviced under warranty but I don’t want them blaming the root access and trying to squirm out of it. I’m actually running a stock ROM of ICS so I don't need to change that - but I still have CWM installed along with its custom recovery mode(?), Superuser and the bootloader is unlocked.
Can anybody give me some suggestions on how I could undo this, preferably limiting my use of USB or eschewing it all together? It’s so unstable I’m really afraid of bricking the device. I want to just make it look as stock as possible so things go smoothly with the service or replacement.
I found suggestions in some threads for using 'Mobile ODIN'. Can anyone tell me if this would help? Thanks!
I've read on here multiple times that they will repair it even if rooted...maybe someone can confirm.
I think there is a apps on the market called adb wireless... May be it can help you!

Just get a stock ROM zip and you can use glados app to lock the boot loader when rooted then flash the stock fw after wiping system the stock system will wipe the custom recovery on boot enjoy

[Q] How to set it back and start over?

I have a ls970 that I rooted last year and tried to install a custom rom but never got that to work. I'm sure it's rooted because I did get my wifi tether to work. I can't even get into the boot menu anymore. I'm thinking the best thing to do is set it back with a factory rom and start over. I don't know a lot about rooting but every phone I get I come here do some reading and root the phones. But this one was a pain and I don't think its 100% right. I did try running a factory rom from my pc to the phone but they failed in the past. Any one feel like helping me one this

Can't post direct link but go to the irc, #lg-optimus-g channel, and there will be a link to lgnpst in the 'motd'. Read directions, follow it, will unroot and set to stock. Or read this thread... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2443185
That thread will set your phone back to 'out of the box' aka completely stock, to the point you need to go in to settings and activate

Thank you, I will try it this weekend and let you know if it works. What would be the best root method for this phone now? All I want is to get a ROM that has wifi tether working and something that can force the phone to roam when I have crappy service. Oh and to take out the sprint junk. Im not looking to get crazy and OC it.
Thanks again

[Q] Some Questions about Rooting and Unrooting the LG G3 32GB device.

Hello,
First sorry for that thread. I'm be a stranger to LG devices and I' m confused and not sure that I pick the right ansers from each threat.
Device: LG G3, 32 GB, V10F-TUR-XX
I' m really very new to LG's rooting process. Before I' used HTC and Samsung devices. I rooted and made a lot of things with my Samsung Note 2. Now give it away and purchased me the LG G3.
LG Rooting procedures are confusing and scaring me .
I' ll be very appreciated if someone could answer the questions below.
So far I see there are many rooting tools for the device. Which one is the proper one for my device. How do I know to choose the right one. I hope the device specs I mentioned above are enough.
What are exactly the differences between the rooting tools.
Are there locking mechanisms of the Kernel like on Samsung. Is it possible to lose the EFS partition like on Samsung devices.
Are there some codes like Samsung's KNOX.
Am I able to go back to the unrooted state.
Thanks in advance

You may want to ask the moderators to move this to Q&A before you get flamed.
There is a root tripper.
I'd check out Purple Drake. It should work for all variants. I/O root may work for your variant though.
There is an EFS backup tool, I suggest you use it.
You can unroot if necessary. Or just flash the appropriate tot/dll files.

Not a problem. This is my first LG device as well. I've just had the time to read through everything. Thought it'd be best before I start messing with stuff

This is my second LG. Before I used LG Optimus but was not in the rooting business. I let my Note 3 untouched . I started rooting Samsung devices with my Note 2. So far I see rooting Samsung devices is much easier than the LG devices.
By the way thank you again. But I still not feeling ready to root my LG G3

No No. Rooting will be fine I think.
I only worry about to unroot the device to its original state.
This is important for me to get newer versions of the device's software. (Android's nwer versions like 4.5 or greater).
Thanx.
