I have searched and there are many threads regarding this problem but many have links that are dead or are not exactly my situation. Here is what I did:
I rooted the phone using the guide at theunlockr.com http://theunlockr.com/2013/02/20/how-to-root-the-htc-droid-incredible-2/
I was unable to gain root using Superuser-3.1.3 because the update firmware would fail. I downloaded CWM-SuperSU-v0.94.zip and that worked fine. Verified root with multiple applications.
Next I tried loading the Cyangenmod 7.2 ROM by copying it to the root of the SD card, going to HBOOT and loading the zip. It appeared to work fine. I rebooted the phone and that is when it hung at the htc screen.
I thought I backed up but it was late and I may have messed that up. No files to restore. I tried factory reset but no joy. I also tried going back to factory stock at this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1599767 but still no joy.
Here are the particulars of my phone:

Hey,
i have a problem with my Desire Z.
After installing CM7.1 it worked fine for about 5 days, then suddenly during the installation of an app it crushed, restarted itself and was caught in a reboot loop of nearly 40seconds.
So i reinstalled CM7.1... everything fine for 4 days... same problem, it appeared during the installation of an other app.
After that i tried to reinstall CM7.1 but no matter what i did, it always came up with the reboot loop... wipe cache, wipe data, factory reset, fix permissions... nothing did help.
So i found SuperWipe here on xda and tried it, and yep there we go, it worked again until today. The phone was a bit slow so i decided to shut it down, and then restart it, and there was it again, the bootloop.
I don't know what else i could do. So i wanted to send it back for warranty.
Now I'm searching for the right original Rom (RUU) and maybe a howto for that.
My phone:
VISION PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.84.2000 (PC1011000)
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.03.02.18_M3
eMMC-boot
Sep 8 2010,15:56:38
eMMC-Sandisk 2223MB 4554751sectors
anything else?
Thank you
Choose one you'd like:
http://www.shipped-roms.com/index.php?category=android&model=Vision
They're all stock roms and as you have S-OFF you should be able to flash them.
If RUU isn't working just flash one of the .zip roms there.
(Download the first *.zip file there, "Vision_TMOUS_1.12.531.0_Radio_12.18.60.05P_26.01.00.17_M2_144460.zip", rename it to exactly this name: PC10IMG.zip
Place it on the root of your sd-card and start the phone in h-boot, power+volume down button.... It'll check your SD card and ask if you'd like to update your phone.)
I don't know if after the flashing is done your H-Boot is also rewritten, but I believe it is.. So then you're unrooted as well.
If this bootloop behavior keeps happening, then your eMMC chip might be fried, if it's under warranty you could hand it in, after flashing a original rom. Then they'll replace the chip, or the entire motherboard.
Hi, it worked fine.
Now its:
VISION PVT ENG S-OFF
HBOOT-0.76.2000 (PC1011000)
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.01.00.17_M2
eMMC-boot

But if I start adb shell, I'm still root?
Any idea?
Greetings
Try this tutorial if you want to unroot.. then it should be back in stock conditions..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=835971
But you also might want to wait and see if the boot-loop still exists before unrooting and handing it in.
Somehow in trying to recover my phone (don't ask..I'm stupid...) I ended up with the following:
VISION PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-0.82.0008
MICROP-0425
RADIO-26.13.04.19_m
eMMC-boot

can't load ANY ROMs, stock or modded.
I've googled and tried everything, a lot of which I need to use via adb, but since my phone won't boot, can't do that.
HELP.
I'm stuck on a G1 right now...
So...you can only boot into your bootloader?

if you are at least able to get to the bootloader screen
then here is the latest RUU from t-mobile/HTC
instructions
http://www.htc.com/us/support/htc-g2-tmobile/software-updates
ruu link

I've tried the RUU and when it reboots from fastboot-usb to bootloader, it just comes back to fastboot-usb and then fails the update.

Correct. If I try to go into recovery, it goes to the htc screen and goes no further. Factory Reset does the same thing.

Hey guys,
i have big problem right now. I just got my Desire HD back from the HTC service guys with Android Version 2.3.5 and a software Version at around 3.?.?.
Now I tried to get root on my phone by using AAHK from here:
http://www.2shared.com/file/FaZdYXtC/aahk-07052012.html
I was following this tutorial, which is in German (sorry guys):
http://www.brutzelstube.de/2011/root-fur-das-htc-desire-hd-mit-dem-advanced-hack-kit/
after the Kit tried to downgrade my phone, the phone stucked at that HBOOT, which shows the following:
Ace PVT SHIP S-ON RL
HBOOT-0.85.0024
MicroP-0438
Radio-26.09.04.11_M2
eMMC-boot
Apr 12 2011,00:55:45
Then I have these options:
Fastboot
Recovery
Factory Reset
Simlock
Image CRC
I wasnt able to navigate by using the volume up/down keys. Nothing worked.
So, somewhere on the web I read that I should start the phone (vol down + power) with no sd card in it.
Alright, now i can navigate in HBOOT.
If i try to start the phone normally, it stucks at the HTC Logo. Even after 15 Minutes waiting, nothing happened.
Any ideas?
I would be even happy just to get back to stuck htc rom.
I´d really appreciate any help!
thx guys,
meevil

Your sdcard is corrupted. Besides, why are you using a version of the kit that is not the lastest that it is in attn1's site? Don't risk the phone by using a youtube tutorial, just read and do it yourself.
Besides, if you are stuck and you have read the effen manual you would haven seen that there's an IRC support channel. :good:

the thing is that the downgrade failed first check the md5sum of the ROM downloaded by the AAHK under the name of "PD98IMG" it should be "69af684168bfd6b9f34fc138e160b4d5" in my case i've an arabic based rom with android 2.3.3 then if you checked the rom is valid you can postt it on the root of an new SD card, since yours is "i think" is broken and flash it using hboot, or you can download an stock 2.3.3 RUU and flash the rom using your PC then you can root your DHD using AAHK "use latest version and make sure to understand every bit of it" take it easy, it happened to me and i managed to get just fine.... wish you the best
My phone is stuck in a bootloop, the only way to stop it is to take the battery out. I recently unlocked via HTC's official unlock, downgraded 2.3.4 to 2.3.3 to s-off, which I did with Revolution, but now the phone can't access CWM. I can't seem to do anything with fastboot since it wont recognize my device on the computer (I am assuming its because I can't allow debugging since I can't change my settings).
Is there anything I can do to access CWM? I've been at this for hours, I'm pretty new to this.
Thanks,

Flash a newer radio.
sent from my paranoid android
You need to get a newer radio zip on the root of your SD card renamed to PG32IMG.zip and boot into your bootloader (hold Vol-Down + Power when your phone is off). This should also let you get back into your recovery (an option on the bootloader). If not you may have flashed over CWM.
ICS radio 1.09.01.0320 from the development forum with some instructions.
solved
Thanks for the help. I just needed to use another sdk card, something must have been wrong with it. I was able to flash recovery no problem.
Thanks.
How do I label 'solved'?
Hi guys,
two days already I am trying to flash a custom ROM to my HTC Desire HD.
First I managed to unlock the bootloader using the Easy Ace Root Tool and installed ClockworkMod.
Then I tried flashing JellyTime 4.2 R11 and it got stuck at the HTC logo screen. I tried all kinds of suggestions from the forums about wiping / formatting via ClockworkMod but with no success.
Afterwards I used a second phone to put the Download Android Revolution HD 7.3 ROM on the SD card and flash it. This one went fine through the installation wizard but when I was back to ClockworkMod recovery mode I got: "Can't open /cache/recovery/log" "Can't open /cache/recovery/last_log". Then I selected reboot and it was hanging on the HTC logo again... I was waiting for a minute before I took the battery out... After this I tried "format /cache" from the CWM but didn't help either.
Then I tried using a RUU utility in fastbood mode to flash an official HTC ROM: RUU_Ace_Sense30_S_HTC_WWE_3.12.405.1_Radio_12.65.60.29_26.14.04.28_M_release_225512_signed.
It reached a particular point saying that the update failed.
I thought I cannot install the official ROM because I have unlocked the bootloader, so I locked it again using the htc fastboot utility. This didn't help either and the RUU failed again.
Here is what the bootloader currently shows:

I am at a point when I am ultimately confused and I don't know how much time I have (in terms of battery I mean )
So I have just a couple of shots before this turns into a beautiful piece of aluminium brick.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
Pesho

Fixed it.. Had to flash the boot.img using the fastboot utility.
