AOSP browser from ICS on N7 ?

Does anyone think it would be possible to install the default browser from ICS? The jelly bean browser is lacking the very useful and important "read" function that I loved do much.
I tried to copy the browser from my evo lte, but it only crashes.

I flashed the AOKP JB build 1 rom, and it has the stock browser in it.

Did you change to the proper permissions? Did you disable the browser sync app?

Yes. Yes. I got the jb browser running just fine. But it lacks the very important "read" function, which reformats a page for easy, uncluttered reading. That's why I'm looking to install the version from ics.

man....I can't for the life of me picture that...guess I must whip out the Gnex and look....I prolly been overlooking a very useful feature haven't I?

Thing is,.I've NEVER.seen that. Ever. Anywhere.
only thing even close that I've seen is pressing menu> dance for offline reading. i have never seen what is described there at all.
Is that a feature built into a certain OEMs included browser? Cuz it's certainly not on my gnex on stock aosp.
Maybe I'll need to go back to ics again just to make sure i am not losing my mind lol. Which i probably am.....

Hmmm, well I know it's on my htc evo 4g lte, so maybe it's only htc phones?

Correct, that is a functionality within the sense browser. Not the stock ICS browser.

Is HTC violating the GPL by not releasing the source for their modified browser? Or is that source available somewhere?

No flash in browsers

I used to be able to open flash pages in opera and uc browser but now they do not work. Anyone having this problem?

We no longer have flash on our phones. Thank apple.
They even pulled it from the play store! Ive got a copy I can give you, but cant get it till later. Maybe someone else can help w that? Check themes and apps section too btw.

I downloaded flash however it still doesn't load flash pages correctly what gives??

Apple has been pressuring everyone to ditch flash for years. From what ive heard Jobs HATED Adobe which is why no apple product ever supported flash. If its not Apple tech or built specifically for and around apple, this is what they would do. Iphones dominance early on is what helped them succeed in killing flash.
If apple doesn't like something they will go to extremes to destroy it. They have to protect their one good idea per decade somehow I suppose!

It's there a way to keep flash on my phone. It's not updated but some people say it works fine.

I use boat browser from the android market, and still have flash. make sure you check
Flash plugin always on

Ya i checked settings and tried both user interfaces. I'm not that much of a noob. I tried 4 browsers. It works after installing the apk file i found online. I was really pissed off. The flash installer from Google play doesn't work. Search Google for flash player apk.

ASUS Supernote 3.1.0 from PadFone 2

This is the supernote 3.1 from Asus PadFone 2
I was able to get this app working on our phone.
I only tested on my wife's and my nexus 4. But I would imagine that it also works on other Jellybean devices as well.

Seems to work great. Just missing page navigation buttons when in a notepad. Works great on my Xoom too running 4.0.4. Syncs well between the two. An ability to add remember needs would make this my top notepad/to do list but will have to stick with catch (functions nowhere near the same but can set reminders).
This is very much like the snote app on s3 and note, but with better sync.

I do not recall Supernote have any widget. But if it does, I will look into getting it port as well.

Use Density Changer change the DPI from 320 (stock) to 300 and reboot. You will see the soft keys from vertical too.

It's working on my i747 with aokp 4.2! Pretty nice app, thanks for the upload!

Handwriting to text conversion
Hi, my friend has this on his Padfone 2. I downloaded this as well. We see that this is the same version 3.1.0.9.0.
However, everything is the same except for one feature. He has this button just left of the Trashcan button, that is for conversion of handwriting to text. It works pretty well. In the Settings menu, he has one extra option to select what language for 'Recognition Language', referring to the handwriting feature.
Do you see this option? I'm thinking the app knows that it's not being used on an Asus and disables this? I'm using Samsung Galaxy S3.

Here's hoping this solves my need for a Penultimate replacement on Android so I feel more comfortable ditching my iPad.

[FREE - YMMV] Next launcher 3d - free $16 app

Do the following:
- Download the next launcher 3d LITE version from play store
- Go to Next Launcher preferences
- Scroll all the way down to About Full Version
- Click on Activate
- Enter nextlauncher3d in account, appoftheday in code
- Done!
Some have reported that it is still activating after the original post date.
Don't forget to hit thanks.

As asked before, is this a trial or something? Why is it free today? Does the dev know about this, or is this some loophole bug that was found? Kinda seems suspicious...
EDIT: Didn't read the whole post I guess. The code is "appoftheday" so that seems a little less suspicious lol.

Where is the preferences menu ?

worked for me....but its still the lite version. the full version still doesnt show as "purchased" so not to sure what all this activated. and if i uninstall it will i lose "all access" to features and just have a basic lite version again?

It won't show purchased on Google play. You have to do a backup of the apk.

dragonfly1113, is your Note 3 -- on which this exploit works -- running stock Android version 4.4.2, 4.4.4, or some other version? I am wondering if \/erizon fixed this in 4.4.4, because this isn't working on my Note 3 with stock 4.4.4.
