Hey guys, before i get told to use the search function (again..) i have spent near on 10 solid hours trying to get my phone going again but with no luck.
Alright, I rooted my phone and carried out a backup of the stock rom but being a noob it ended up being corrupt. So i rooted the phone and installed Cyanogen mod. all was sweet until my phone plan ran out and I needed to unlock my sim card from the vodafone network. which i found out was only doable through the stock rom.
My phones detials:
Model: HTC one X
CID: VODAP021
Main version: 3.14.862.27
Hboot: 1.36
Security is currently on.
The issue i have come across is that i cant find a stock RUU or even nandroid backup of this particular rom. So my questions are:
1.Can i unlock myself from the network without the stock rom?
2.Does anyone have a copy of the stock rom for my phone?
3.If no rom is found, what steps can i take to remove the network lock?
Thanks all.
I'm currently on CM 10.2 Android 4.2.2 and can tell you that you cannot unlock network. I've just arrived in the UK and have been unable to unlock my network with the unlock code provided by Vodafone. I'll let you know if I find a way around this!
I've actually just flashed an older ICS stock ROM and relocked my phone but the Network Unlock still does not work!
Bump
I had the same problem but using cyanogenmod 10.2 (Android 4.3) I was able to unlock my network lock with a key provided by vodafone heres my thread
Well for unlocking the hTC One X i think that our device's should be S-OFF but we can't do that..Only go to your operator center and ask them..
For stock ROM search in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
The only one available is the 2.17 but thats offline. Sneaky sent the poster a PM ... only chance is that he gets a response, or if somebody else comes a long with the same main.

Hello people.
An android newbie here. I have beem doing quite a bit of reading on this forum, but this is my first time posting. I have looked around all over the place and I have reached a point where I am confused of how to go about the task I am wanting to accomplish. Here goes:
I bought a desire HD on vodafone last week, it had 1.75.161.2 firmware on it. I stumbled across these forums and decided to flash a custom ROM (Leedroid). I was successful a this task, but now i have a charging problem with my phone. If i understand correctly, my warranty is void with a custom ROM, so I would like to know how i could get back to my stock Vodafone ROM (1.75.161.2), also with the branded vodafone logo that used to appear before i flashed to custom ROM.
Again, sorry if there is stuff about this posted elsewhere, I have been reading, but i am really confused.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
You have to run a RUU if you want to return to stock.
I don't have any links to official RUUs atm, but check the threads in the android developement section. There should be one with vodafone branding

I have installed a Vodafone branded RUU, I have also found a Vodafone backup which I have tried. I get the branding back, but I cannot get any updates OTA. I'm now on 1.39.161.1. There clearly is a 1.75 update on Vodafone, I used to be on it and my friends are on it.
Any help for me to receive these OTA updates?
Regards
I think 1.75 was pulled by HTC at the same time as the 1.72 update, due to some major bugs.

Vodafone website states 1.75 is the latest. Last week I had 1.75 I don't think 1.75 was pulled. 1.72 was definitely pulled.

Anothe DHD noob question here. I bought a DHD off eBay and I know it is locked to Vodafone, but I'm not sure if it's branded. If I don't get the Vodafone logo when I switch it on does that mean it's not branded?
Check the firmwareversion. If it's like 1.32.405.3 it's unbranded. The important part is .405. That means that it's unbranded.

It's 1.72.405.3
So it's unbranded but I need to downgrade in order to root and S-OFF etc?
Yes, you need to downgrade it to 1.32. But you don't need to create a gold card

Hi, I've the same problem, I need to get back to voda 1.75
First of all, did you used hboot S-OFF or radio S-OFF ?? Because if you used hboot you won't be able to recover the original boot to S-ON and your phone will be out of warranty regardless of the ROM it has installed.
As I understand it, if you've flashed the 1.39 branded RUU back to the phone that should've give you the stock vodafone recovery wich is what is needed in order to get Voda Branded OTA updates, am I right?
So I don't get why aren't you receiving the 1.75 OTA, do you have superCID?
Anyone knows if there is a 1.75 Voda RUU available somewhere to flash manually?

Hi.
Looks like we're stuck in the same boat! I have reflashed the original radio and the original hboot. Also put my cid to stock (VODAP001), and turned radio s-on. Reflashed clockworkmod recovery to original stock recovery, got the phone back to 100% the way it was when I took it out of the box, yet still I cannot get the OTA update to 1.75.161.2
I'm on 1.39.161.1, stock Vodafone UK firmware. I followed a guide off another forum (german forum) nd thanks to Google translator I managed to follow the steps. But still stuck at the OTA issue.
yep, so it seems.
Could you post the link to that thread on the german forum?
Thanks

Hi guys,
Sorry to dig this one up but I've hit a bit of a snag with my phone and could do with some assistance.
I got the phone originally with a Vodafone ROM and decided to debrand it to a plain HTC ROM - 1.72 using a de-brand pack I got from Fonefunshop. It appears that based on the fact the phone still has a Vodafone serial number but a HTC ROM I cannot receive OTA updates (I want Gingerbread ) then I need to revert back to stock. Ironically Vodafone released 2.3 earlier than HTC which was annoying to say the least.
I've been hunting round for the stock Vodafone RUU for 1.36 but I don't know if I can downgrade for starters, nor can I find any Vodafone RUU files anywhere including on here nor on Stock-ROM's.
Can anyone give me some help with this?
When I bought my phone from Vodafone on contract in November it came unbranded and unlocked. Nothing to do with Vodafone at all, apart from the CID. So if you just flash back to the stock 1.32 ROM and change the CID to the Vodafone one which I think is VODA_0001 (Dont quote me on that, its off the top of my head but there is a thread here somewhere that has it in), then make your phone S-on to get the updates.
That way you will be completely stock.
I'm in the same boat too
Flashed the non-branded software when I got the phone last year. Now I can't get the OTA update to 2.3.
Does anyone have a link the the stock 1.32 ROM and also a guide on how to change the CID and to make the phone S-on to get the updates?
Thanks
Lee

Please can you tell me where you found the Vodafone branded RUU. I really need it and haven't been able to find it anywhere. Thanks
Just unlocked my bootloader and flashed clockwork recovery - pretty easy.
I have a Vodafone UK provided device that has vodafone's CID.
My Firmware version is 1.26 currently.
If i wanted to put Android Revolution 3.0.0 on the device it is suggested i need to upgrade the firmware?
When i look at the firmware page it says its only supported by certain CID numbers and when i check mine it says none
Can i still put it on or do i risk bricking?
Since you're CID is not listed, my guess is that it will either not install, give bootloop or brick.
Keep reading and let people develop some more.

My HTC One X is on Vodafone too. I unlocked it etc from the guides on XDA and HTCDEV.
I've been using the ARHD ROMS for a few days now, they're better than what Vodafone provided. Today I flashed the ARHD 3 ROM. First I did the 3 boot image via fastboot then flashed the ROM via recovery, I always wipe cache and dalvik cache between ARHD ROMs and so far it's working fine. No brick here...
If you've got this far I reckon you can fastboot flash the boot image and upgrade to ARHD 3 no problem at all - go for it I say...
linkisoc - with your phone on the arhd rom and unlocked from HTCdev, are you able to change the CID?
I'll confess I never even considered the CID. It's not something I'd come across before with several android phones all rooted / flashed etc. I've been doing this since the Google Nexus one, Nexus S, Samsung Galaxy Nexus and now the One X... checking the CID never occured to me...I'll google it now though and see if I've just been very lucky !
i've never changed it either - always managed to get unbranded sets this far but was far too keen for this phone and got it from vodafone on release day, complete with all their crap and slow OTA releases. I asked in another post about the difference between htcdev unlock and an eventual S-OFF and apparently they're different.
Hi Everyone,
Basically I had a htc desire hd fully rooted on 3UK never had an issue.... until I got my upgrade to HTC One X , meaning my dad was then given the DHD he unlocked it with a code so he could use Vodafone, all was well until recently it started dropping signal restarted it all was well then again no signal ie '' your sim doesn't allow connection to this network'' (or something like that)
It was running ginger sense or something cant remember..... I can get into boot loader, recovery etc but i have tried to flash various roms but nothing, I also flashed a radio to match the ril still nothing wont boot at all now.
This is the info off the phone:-
CID:H3G_001

If anyone can post me a link to an original 3UK RUU that will work or even advise why with the 2 RUU I have tried comes up error 135
Please help thanks in advance
Most likely he used an ime unlock code, which lets him use different carriers. Your phone is not rooted. S-on. Trying to flash roms on a phone that is not rooted and I believe - but not sure, trying to flash radios- would not work since it's still s-on.
Sent from a dream.
Cheers for the response yes the phone is rooted has been for almost 1yr lost count how many roms I have had on it etc.
Thinking of starting again as at a dead end been spending most of the day looking for RUU but all links are dead :crying:
If anyone has an RUU 3UK please send me a link or even a working guide if your rooted but S-ON again most guides are for USA Ace etc not UK Desire HD so keeps failing
cheers
As far as I know, this version works doesn't it?
I'm on Three.
Gonna flash to go back to stock.

Right there this second have found a RUU which worked and brought the DHD back to life as if it just came out the box.
However back to square one... no service it just OTA to 2.3.3, with a 3 sim it does'nt say limited service or anything and when going into settings abut phone etc the APN seems correct but nothing?? Wifi works.
Funny thing is if I put in a Vodafone sim which it was unlocked to use it shows blank at the APN settings page.
I will try the AAhk kit or whatever its called as I can actually get into the phone now.
matthew33 can you let me know your baseband etc if your on 3uk so I can match and hopefully fix this stupid issue Thanks :good:

Dear all,
I really need some serious help here. I have a HTC One X (International version) purchased from the UK and I am presently in India. The phone is rooted and here are the vital stats:
Hboot: 1.12
CID: HTC_001
Android: 4.0.4
HTC Sense: 4.1
Software: Renovate
HTC SDk API: 4.23
HTC Extension version: HTCExtension_403_1_GA_20
Kernel version: [email protected] #33 SMP PREEMPT
Radio/Baseband: 2.1204.135.20
Build: 2.17.401.2
So, the issue is that i receive no network...no service. The SIM card is working fine and I tried different cards with the same result. I get a decent signal in areas with a strong signal but receive NO signal in areas with a relatively weak signal (not all that weak, my iPhone works just fine). I guess it must be something to do with radio/baseband. I tried to flash some other radios (for India) but nothing helps. Some one advised to use a stable ROM with a newer baseband but for doing so, I need to upgrade my hboot, which refuses to move from the current 1.12 (to 1.39 as advised by mike of ADR in his thread). FYI, when I flash a new hboot, the cmd prompt remains at 'sending file' for a really long time without any response.
Any help will be greatly appreciated! I am willing to use any ROM to get my phone working properly!
Regards,
Aviram
PS: I've researched and researched before asking this question. My research paid off in a way that I am not a NOOB anymore!

UPDATE:
Managed to update the hboot to 1.39 and installed a new rom ARHD 18 (Jellybean) with a new baseband: 5.1204.162.29 but the network problem still persists. As I said, I receive a signal where the coverage is very strong but get zero signal where the coverage is relatively weak.
The same SIM works in an iPhone 5 and an S3 where as a different operator's SIM that works with the S3 gives me the same problem in my One X.
Go back to full stock,if the problem won't go away you have to 2 options, or a hardware default or you need a new simcard . I had it replaced once and never had any problems anymore

Thanks for your response. Replacing the SIM card doesn't help as I have already tried different SIM cards. I'll try and figure out on how to go back to full stock. I haven't been able to find the correct RUU (isn't that what is needed?) for my device.

If the main version is correct in your OP ? Then you need this ruu

Thanks again for your quick response Mr Hofs. How do I check if the main version is correct in my OP (what is an OP?)? My build number reads '3.14.401.31 CL128187 release-keys'; does this confirm that the RUU file that you directed me to should work fine with my phone and take it back to stock?
As you probably know, the factory phone came with ICS where as this RUU looks like a JB one. I am assuming that this is the latest and the greatest official RUU.
Really appreciate your help.

Update:
Successfully applied the stock RUU as you suggested Mr.Hofs. The problem still persists. I tried using a couple of other SIM cards too, but face the same problem. I get a normal signal in an area with very strong signal coverage.
Edit :
Nice that the ruu worked.
So you are on full stock jellybean now....could be hardware related, but i really should test it with a new simcard from your provider. I dont know about the costs of a simcard. I asked for a new one back in the day and got it for free ....

Yeah thanks to you for pointing me to the correct RUU! As I said, the problem hasn't been solved but I've learnt so much about Android!
I tried at least three SIMs including a different one for my carrier as well as ones for other carriers...same issue So don't really think getting another SIM will help.
Another question. My bootloader now says 'relocked'...and I am back to stock JB now...will the HTC service center entertain me if I go to them? (They sent me away the last time i went there because I was on a custom ROM and an unlocked bootloader...but 'relocked' clearly indicates that it was unlocked in the past!)
Yes and we cant do anything about the relocked bootloader, this is as stock as you can get.
Good evening all,
I am very new to all of this so please be bear with me. I have searched through the forum extensively but haven't been able to find a solution to my problem.
I have an HTC One X (Endeavoru / Tegra 3) which is currently network locked to T-Mobile UK.
I have followed various guides on XDA carefully and successfully unlocked the bootloader using HTCDev code & adb/fastboot, rooted my phone and installed Cyanogenmod 12.0. It is all working perfectly and I'm very happy with the results.
My problem is I want to put in an O2 Sim Card and my phone is locked to T-Mobile UK. I purchased an unlock code for £9.99 (officialunlockcodes.com) and popped in my O2 Sim but after inputting the code into my phone, it said that the unlock was NOT successful and I still get the same message (Network / Perso Lock).
So my first question is, is the fact that my phone is running a custom ROM & unlocked/rooted preventing the unlock code from working?
My second question is a about reverting back to original HTC settings/software in order to unlock the network.
I read on a forum that someone else had issues using an unlock code on a custom ROM with unlocked bootloader. He reverted back to stock ROM and locked the bootloader and it worked for him. He then reinstalled the custom ROM and it was all fine. I have tried (and failed) to do the same but I cannot find any stock ROM or a Nandroid backup that is compatible with my phone.
The version is 3.16.110.6 and the CID is tmob005. Htboot version is 1.39.
I used TWRP Recovery & this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-...avoru-t3022358 for updating to the new storage layout for HTC One X Endeavoru and this one http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-...-12-0-t2976389 for my installation of Cyanogenmod 12.0. (both great resources!)
When I unlocked the bootloader & rooted my phone, I used ClockworkMod as the recovery tool and I did take a back up. However, I foolishly wiped my SD card & storage before I updated to the new storage layout (and changed to TWRP recovery tool) when I was installing Cyanogenmod 12.0 a few days later so as far as I'm aware, I can't simply restore my original ROM.
Does anyone have any ideas? Ideally, all I want to do is unlock the carrier/network and continue using my phone as it is with Cyanogenmod 12.0 but if I need to revert back to stock ROM to unlock the network, I'm prepared to do that. I just don't know how as I've searched through the collections and archives here and can't find a stock ROM or Nandroid backup that's compatible. I may be getting myself very confused on this as I don't really understand CID so I hope I've not missed anything obvious.
I've also tried achieving S-OFF with firewater & rumrunner but it fails and from what I can tell through various threads and research, S-OFF isn't possible yet for my model of HTC One X.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much Amber

Hi.
I have HTC One X (Endeavoru / htc_europe).
It is S-OFF and supercid 11111111.
Is it possible to remove the operator's SIM lock?
If yes - please advise or give links and I will read them.
I was not able to find a working way to do it.
Hope someone could help.
