[Q] There is some froyo patch convert rom from GSM to CDMA? - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Exist a patch to convert froyo's roms from GSM to CDMA?, I'm been looking in goolge and can't find it, if doesn't exist can tell how to build it. I been using michael007 method (patch) and doesn't works.

Well, if you want to port ROMs, your best shot it using a porting guide, like this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1908008
You will need a base froyo ROM that already works on the cdma Desire.
But something as simple as a patch doesn't exist.

[Q]Roms

So, since AlphaRev is comming soon(-ish) I would like to get some information about roms. Or some suggestions.
I'm looking for a non-sense rom, that is fast (preferably Gingerbread).
Also; If I install CM7 (GB) will I have to install any custom kernels for overclocking?
Thank you for your help :]
No, CM7 comes with a kernel that supports overclocking by default.
ROM List here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1029318
Thanks for that info.
Concerning your list, I'm looking for some input from other users
Can't really help you there, because the only AOSP (Non - Sense) ROM I have used till date is CM7, both stable and nightlies. Personally, I am very satisfied with it, and would whole heartedly recommend it, but, ROM choice is a personal thing.

What is the main advantage of nightlies over the stable one?
Sent from my HTC Wildfire using XDA Premium App
Nightlies integrate many changes, developed over time. They are kind of "unofficial / beta builds", so there's no official support for bugs on those. Thus, nightlies may give new features, but may also have the potential for introducing new bugs.
One example: The nightlies use Android 2.3.4 since quite a while back, but all stable versions are still on 2.3.3. The next stable version will obviously incorporate 2.3.4
Thank you
Guess I'll go for the stable cm7 once AlphaRevX comes.

Cool. If you're interested, you could use this as a project to learn development yourself
I actually don't know where to start with a sense ROM. I can compile AOSP from source, but not sure how you get the proprietory files into a sense ROM and get it compatible.
I couldn't even if I wanted to.
Thunderbold = CDMA!?
So i think its really comlicated to port this to an GSM device!?
(sorry if im wrong )

Well you could use dsixda porting tools to extract the kernel etc from a base rom. This may do the whole job or perhaps part of it.
And there is always CDMA Desire.

Hmmm...
Wonder if we could take that ROM, change the updater-script to match our mounting points....then we just need a kernel....
Which we have one kernel already made. Not sure if it would work though.
If anyone would help set up a build environment that would work for our kernels and roms then I will gladly help and start learning.

I think we'd need a stock CM9 based kernel though. If I understand correctly.

Well, it shouldn't take too long. It may be possible to build a CM9 Kernel for our phones using parts of the stock kernel that we have access to.
Once the JB source is released, an S3 port might actually be viable. Otherwise it's essentially just flashing a gnex image and praying something/anything works.

a CM9 kernel shouldn't be needed, just a modded kernel for our specific phone from what i believe.
We know this, but it's more of an experiment. Also, it helps work out anything we may need to do early on with the modules and drivers

Why not take this ROM, change the updater-script for our mount points, remove the flashing of the boot.img, flash ROM then flash the kernel Roman release?
Think that would work?

It could, in theory. But we would need to work on the modules for anything to work. Could you post our mount points?
why does it have to be a cm9 kernel?
to be completely honest, as soon as we get a cm9 alpha, we will see some worth while stuff! but until then. TouchWiz it iz. We will have team kang's AOKP in no time im sure. i cant wait to see wuts to come. especially since this phone is at all the major carriers and they are all basically exactly the same! should be epic.

yea i think once one of the other major carriers (or ares) get cm9 then we will see some awesome stuff for everyones phone!
I think that the only thing that makes them different is the radios in the phone

MIUI v5/v6 4.4.x Porting Help

Can someone explain in fair ease how to port MIUI v5 or V6 onto a AOSP Based ROM, like ShinyROM/CM11/OmniROM? Preferably in a GITHub format so Updates to MIUI and these bases update the whole package? Been fiddling with porting it and had no success and the official MIUI porting team instructions seem to not apply/im not grasping it as much as I should
Thanks in advance!
Bump?
Would be great to have a port of Miui 4.4, but seems that a people are not interested. A my friend tried to port but without success. I think that this is possible, but need help.
please port it if someone ever helps you. would be much appreciated!
Anyone have tried this guide? http://yummydroid.blogspot.it/2014/04/guidehow-to-port-different-roms-to-your.html

I tried that first to be honest, but not from the guide directly, just guessing what might work, i know MIUI has init.d things that seperate it from AOSP
PS: Are you the same guy i saw over on MIUI forum?? (I'm XeoShion there)

[Q] Sensei Kernel download

I would like to to download the sensei kernel but since the download is no longer valid I can't.
So I want to ask if some of you guys have an old download, and want to upload the file and link it?
Thanks in advance
yeah i wanted to ask that too, but maybe it is dead (no longer supported or compatible)
The savior has arrived.

I actually had no idea the Find 7 HAD a custom kernel.. If you don't mind my ignorance, could someone tell me with what ROMs it is compatible with and if it also works on the 7a? Thanks!!
I think its compatible to 5.0.2 roms not sure with 5.1.1 tho.
has issues with wifi etc2
I haven't tried it with lollipop but it worked perfectly in AOSP (4.4.4) ROMS. P.S: My friend had made this kernel. It was posted on XDA & OPPO Forums but since not many people thanked him it was discontinued.

yeah. works on 4.4 up to 5.0.2 aosp roms
but I wish he continued tho. oneplus one kernel is 90% identical to find 7/7s. wish more devs could make kernels and roms to this device but the lack of interest is low
Guys this kernel is alive. It back up and rolling after a long time.
