I have a galaxy s3 and a valid unlock code from tmobile. The problem is when I enter the unlock code in, it says "sim unlock network unsucessful"
I called T-Mobile and they told me to try again after 24 hours, but it still does not work. Could it be because I am on a custom rom (AOKP MR1) ?
I am in India and am trying to use the phone on a local carrier here, such as aircel. What should I do? Thanks
Yup. You need to do it from the stock TW dialer.

I tried to unlock my phone with the code provided by cellunlocker.net and no luck.
Method 1: when I insert my t mobile card, it doesn't ask for an unlock code( it should cuz this is a non art sim card right?)
Method 2: after punch in #7465625*638*(my unlock code)#. Nothing happens. (It should say something like unlock successful or not right?)
Heck even I can't check the lock status of my phone. I type in *#7465625# and didn't bring up anything.
Method 3: i type in #7465625*638*# and wait for it to ask the unlock code. It did nothing. Didnt ask for anything.
How can I enter my code if my phone doesn't ask for it. And it locked cuz i can't use t mobile sim.when I inserted t mobile sum it says no sim card.
Plz help. Any ideas or advice would be greatly appreciated.
My phone is att i747. 4.0.4. Baseband i747uclh9.

I used the following on my S2, when I did, I am pretty sure I saw an option for the S3 as well. Might be worth a shot.

Also, are you on a stock or custom ROM? I've read that that can be a variable as well.

Thanks for the response. My phone is running stock ICS.
THe thing that bugs me most is that it doesn't prompt the network unlock screen, hence I can't enter my code.
The link you sent me apparently works for the att s2 sadly.

I wouldn't even waste my time with cellunlocker.net I bought an unlock code from them tried ALL the methods they gave you in the email and they didn't work I eventually took it to a cell repair guy locally and he unlocked it for me for 15 bucks and it was a factory unlock like it would be sim free

I think I will root and put a rom only phone and try the unlock code again. Otherwise I am now having a paperweight.

What I meant was....in the app itself, AFTER I downloaded it from the Play Store, there is a tab to select the S3....inside the app. Did you actually download it and look at it? Just checking.

Doing a NAndroid and I am going to try this. What sucks is I don't know anyone with a micro sim from Tmobile here at work

Didn't work, would not/could not save EFS folder from step 1.
I've run into the same issue here only I got my unlock code straight from ATT. SGSunlocker won't save the efs (even though it's in the save location it doesn't register as being saved) so it won't go to step 2. The unlock code entry sequence you mentioned doesn't work either (that's what ATT gave as well).
Haven't tried a tmobile sim yet though, just got the code yesterday.

I recently wrangled a network unlock code out of Telus. I've never network un-locked a phone before.
I read something on cellunlocker.net while checking out their site that the Note II must be on factory firmware for their codes to work.
Does this sound correct? or is it crazy talk? Does this apply to the code from Telus? (they're all the same codes no?)
If I flash back to stock to enter the code then flash back to 4.2 it should stay unlocked... correct?
The telus rep was useless beyond getting me the actual code.
I'm nervous because I've heard you only have so many kicks at the can before your totally locked out.

The required files aren't present on AOSP ROMs, and might have been removed from modded TouchWiz ones.

Dude the note 2 is so easy to unlock. U don't need a code or to pay for it either. Google it it works

Hi i have an unlocked galaxy s3 sgh-i747m telus phone it was unlocked i was using on fido i updated to 4.3 was working fine reflashed to 4.1.2 got bored with that and went back to 4.3 my s3 is not rooted i lost my unlock i took it into a cell phone shop paid $40 to unlock it the guy at the store tried there on the spot program to unlock the phone which should have taken 5mins he came back and said something about the phone being on 4.3 he couldnt use there program to unlock it so he would have to get it unlocked another way idk what he did it toom avout 40 mins he didnt give me the unlock code but the phone is unlocked when i go to my settings and click on scan for network operators it brings up telus bell fido and wind does that mean maybe my phone will now work with a wind mobile sim card?
You'll have to try and insert a T-Mobile SIM and find out if you need to enter a unlock code. If not its unlocked

I got an unlock code for Galaxy S3 from TMO. I enter it and it didn't work. It said "network unlock request unsuccessful". I tried it for a couple times, wifi on, different carriers, the code still no good. Called TMO again and they said the code is correct verifying the IMEI. Anyone experience this? (It's on CM 10.2).
They also said my phone most likely permanently LOCKED the sim carrier!!! I was like WTF. I don't even know there's such thing. How is it possible the sim carrier being permanently locked.Now I'm stuck cuz they can only generate one code per IMEI (according to the rep). If I buy an unlock code online, will it work?
If you do too many unsuccessful attempts to unlock the sim then it can permanently lock it.. And did you try it with CM? With the s3 it would only work with touchwiz, try it with that

In the GENERAL section for our T999 there is a thread by "mrgodai" named "Sim Unlock".. I just did it last night and it worked. You WILL have to downgrade to 4.1.1 (I used the root66 4.1.1) via ODIN.. Then you follow the OPs instructions, then once it shows SUCCESSFUL you can go back to your backed up nandroid to whatever ROM.. I'm using CM11 4.4.2

If the phone was properly unlocked in the first instance, it would be impossible to lock it back again as the unlocking process should survive any firmware upgrade. I'm somewhat puzzled by your question. Could you please clarify? The only way to test if it is still locked would be to put a non-standard SIM inside (i.e. any non AT&T sim). If it requests an unlock code, then it means it was not unlocked at first.

Before flashing it was working 100% without att Sim but now NO

Did you buy a code? If you did, the unlock code would not have changed as long as the imei did not change.
If it was unlocked when you received the phone, you'll have to buy another unlock code.
I'm surprised it became locked after it was bricked. I didn't think this would happen.
Are there any firmware for unlocked sgh-i747.

If you are on a stock ROM that is 4.3 or higher, you must buy a code.
