You can use Playerpro from the play store, it has volume skip track controls. And i also map the music buttons to lmt launcher.

Tried it kind of annoying to always have to turn it on. Also no option to do just a single long press is kind of annoying.

I have already purchased poweramp long ago and like the app. Just wish this wasn't such a difficult mod to create.

Have you tried the ViperOne ROM? I haven't missed Trickdroid at all after flashing it. This feature is integrated into the ROM. Lots more customization in Viper.
i have any it was a good rom, but i prefer trickdroid.
10$ to whoever can do this in an Google Edition ROM without using tweakbox/xposed...

I use the free version of Mixzing. I like the music identification, album art pull, and tag editing features. I don't use the recommendation feature, but I hear it's pretty good.
I use Poweramp and I love it
I am on wicked Rom. I was wondering what I can do to get the ability to skip music with volume keys. I had this with cm7 on a g2x. I want to keep the current Rom.
Any apps or mods for this? Thanks

Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Just checked poweramp settings and can't find the actual setting for some reason but I know it's there because all I have to donis hold volume up/down to change a song

im using miui too..and its work great..ttpod is the answer
gonna try TTPod . thx for the feedbacks and answers
i think it's not usable (i've got an apple ipod touch first gen) why are you want to use it?
TTpod's shake control works, also this, but I find it annoying because you have to have the medium shake setting for it to not trigger in pocket while walking. And you hve to take it out and shake heavily to change track. I rather use the long pressing volume up button.
HI!
is any way to make a mod with skip songs with volume key feature? i would like hear a yes! lol
I miss that feature!

If you are using the samsung headsets which came with note 2 then you can press the button below the volume button twice to skip/shuffle to the next song.

As the title says, how come there aren't any lock screen controls for the stock music player?
Sent from my SGH-I317M using xda app-developers app
On the lockscreen, you can only have the icon of the stock music player.
Use WidgetLocker for example to have more possibilities.
This annoys me as well. I dont like having to unlock the phone just skip tracks

If you don't have a lock pattern/password/pin you should be able to drag down the notification bar and access the controls there (I'm assuming the stock player has controls there, most 3rd party ones do)
