[Q] Galaxy s3 won't power up - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello all. Thanks for reading. I just flashed the Pardous rom. The flash was aborted for an error. I keyed back to restore my nandroid and my screen went blank. Now I cannot power up...or go into recovery, or reset. The phone seems dead...any suggestions?

Where did you find this rom? And you have a Sprint SGS3 sph-L710?

Can you enter Download Mode for Odin?
Phone off; Press Vol Down + Home Button at the same time then power on.
If so use the latest 4.2.1 One click exe flash. Brings it back to complete stock no root.
Remember, after the flash with the .exe one click you must
= Boot into recovery and clear both caches (not sure if dalvik is listed in stock recovery.)
= A factory reset.
Otherwise it will just get stuck at the Samsung Logo.

Willing to bet you flashed this..... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2142430 which is a international rom.... Pretty much you hard bricked you phone. If you have a Sprint GS3, Stupidity wins again.
Sent from underwater.

I was hoping he would reply but he hasn't. I figured as much that he flashed an International rom.

Copy this to an empty microSD card using dd or its WIndows equivalent (copying it as a file will not suffice, guides for using dd are everywhere):
http://www.mediafire.com/download/231uhy6l80jx74n/debrick_sph_l710.img.xz
I recovered my Sprint Galaxy S3 from an international ROM flash using this - the previous owner tried installing the Omega ROM, which I didn't know about until I peeked at the internal storage. Anyway, just turn it on with the card inserted, it should get you into download mode. Remember to take the card out after it boots! Then you should be able to flash a stock ROM with Odin or Heimdall.

Ok, I just had a friend do this today. What is dd? Trying to bring his phone back from the dead.

Okay so if you can get into recovery, then you should just flash any ROM from the development section of these forums.

You flashed a different phones rom. Which means the scripts and the radios and everything is off. Don't flash anything that doesn't have a T989 flashable thing oon it. You got lucly. Most people have a full brick. Be careful next time. And go to the Developers section. Download a stock 2.3.6 or Juggernaut v.4.1 and flash in this order
1. Place file on root of sdcard
2. Reboot recovery and wipe data/cache/dalvik cahce (found under advanced)
3. Flash the rom you desire
4. Reboot.
5. Let it sit for a good 10 minutes

Answered you in the other thread you posted as well ...
IF you can get to download mode, find the Stock ODIN flash for t989, and follow the directions, ODIN does not care how full your SD card is ...
Then just odin. Find a stock one that has an Odin Rom next to he title and flasheed that.
1. Go into download mode, turn off unplugged. Then hold volume up and down and then plug in usb chord.
2. Open up odin 1.85
3. Click the pda part and browse foot your rom.
4.click start and be patient don't touch anything

Yes and NO ...
the term flash or flashing means writing new files to the phone ...
ODIN is pretty much a Samsung factory tool, it will overwrite anything that is on the phone with what you are trying to flash ..
Flashing from CWM recovery is a "Softer" way of doing it, it may or may not wipe, it may or may not replace corrupt files, depending on where and what they are ...
IF you are having major trouble with your phone, and can still get into download mode ODIN is the cleaner way to flash it back to stock, but, read read read read till you understand what you are doing, then read it again ....

[Q] I tried to install a rom, stuck on boot animation, bootloader crashes

I decided to install Cyanogen Mod on my Nexus. I already rooted it and downloaded rom manager + titanium back-up. I watched a tutorial on how to download and install roms using rom manager and everything seemed to go as planned and Cyanogen 9 was installed. The phone automatically rebooted and the boot animation the Cyanogen started. But after a half hour I realized it was stuck. So I tried to go into recovery mode to restore my backup (of the stock) but when I went there, the phone automatically turn off. It's not when I click, it's just after a certain period. It even turned off while restoring. To make things worse, when I turn it on now, it's stuck on the Google logo with the unlocked slot at the bottom. I hope you guys can help me because I'm starting to freak out.
Addidional info:
Additional info
I did not delete evreything when I flashed
GSM version
rom was downloaded from rom manager
I backed up my stock rom
I did google but everything leads to bootloader which is broken

1.Don't panic
2. Try to go on bootloader then reset factory or fastboot then from pc flash recovery
3. Try to get back recovery then factory reset and flash backup

was it a nexus? maybe/probably not, but if it was, you should have used fastboot. it's officially supported by GOOGLE. if you want to flash a factory image, they tell you to use fastboot. why would we use anything else? a leak? that the community barely really knows anything about?
i'd rather use Heimdall!! (not sure i9250 is supported though.)

Odin flashable stock ROM?

After playing around wth ROMs I've got bootloop (although should not - just factory reset and cache/dalvik wipe).
Now I need odin flashable stock (preferably) ROM. I tried to find it here and no luck.
Can some1 help me? Canadian or AT&T version should work
POWER OFF PHONE....... Once it’s turned off, press volume up + power button + home button simultaneously and keep them pressed until you see the recovery mode...
Now clear cache, and dalvik cache....then do a factory reset within this menu. Once done reboot....This helps when bootloops occur...try this before using odin..its worked for me and many others...

Buddy, I know what bootloop is and how to get rid of it I tried this yesterday night couple of times - it doesn't work.
Now, I cannot mount internal sdcard as USB device. in advanced I'm choosing this option, but nothing happens. I do not have (yet) external microsdxc card (ordered a day before).
So, the only way for me to fix that is to find odin flashable ROM. Have some1 saw it somewhere?

The thing is - I CAN get to CWM, but due to lack of space (well, to be completely honest with ya - my stupidy) I deleted good CWM flashable ROM (Jedi 3.2) which was working for me to give a space for the new one (Jedi 3.3). I broke my personal rule #1 - all the times have a chance to reflash back thus to have a copy of good working ROM on sdcard. Now I'm stuck:
- in CWM I can flash smth, but there's no good ROM on sdcard
- I tried to to hook up the phone as USB storage. It was working for me on my previous Captivate w/o any hiccups and I was thinkng it will do the job on Note2. As I can see - not really: I'm selecting "USB Storage", but nothing happends. I tried linux and windows PCs, different cables and ports (front and back ones), I installed Samsung drivers on windows machines - nothing. That mean I cannot put anything on sdcard.
- the most funny thing - an hour before that I bought Sandisk 64GB microsdxc card on ebay to be able to keep ROMs on my phone. But for now I don't have one to put firmware on it to be able to flash it.
- I checked download mode - I can get there as well. Looks the only way for me to alive my phone.
Again, thanks a lot, guys, really appreciate your help I'll download this tonight and will flash. I'll keep you posted with results.
BTW, I think it's a good idea for some1 like me stuck in bootloop to be able to get these ROMs from "[REF] Your one-stop shop for the Note II (Kernels, Roms, Guides, Modems, Etc.)" topic. I think I have to PM moderators to ask them to do so.

Hey guys,
I've been flashing ROMS for years and this is my first real issue.
I tried to upgrade from an earlier version of CM10 to the newest one. After I flashed GAPPS this caused the phone to get stuck on reboot so I went back to CWM recovery.
ALL MY DOWNLOADED FILES WERE GONE IN CWM. Including all the roms I had, and my NANDROID backup (which I would have just reflashed right there).
I tried to Odin back to stock and it passes but gets stuck on the Samsung boot logo every time.
I've tried to scour threads on XDA and on Google. The closest thing I found was a thread where it mentioned I'd need Tmobile Bootchain commands but I can't find those either.
All help is greatly appreciated.
Have you tried to Odin using a different computer.. or redownload Odin and the files needed
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Odin the stock firmware you mean from a different comp? I don't think that is the issue since Odin shows that the flash was successful. The phone reboots itself and it gets passed the Samsung Galaxy S3 screen to the Tmobile Android 4g boot animation.
Additionally, people in the Verizon S3 forum are describing my issue exactly here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1840030)

I can't get into stock recovery man, or any kind of recovery.Holding vol up + home + power hangs permanently after the SGS 3 boot screen, nothing happens.
Go to Doc's stickie and I think it is in the 2nd post, there is an Odin flashable version of TWRP (maybe a copy of CWR but since I don't use it I'm not sure).
Flash that and let it "try" and reboot. It won't but you can do the key combo to get into TWRP recovery and either flash a ROM, Restore or at the very least Factory Reset, which would be my first choice.
Somewhere back there in your efforts, I think you may have erased your internal and if that is where your backups were kept then that might be why they are gone. Just a thought though.
In odin, uncheck auto reboot. Flash the recovery tar in pda spot. When it says pass, pull the battery and boot into recovery with volume up, home, and power. Release the power button when u feel the vibrate. Then thank mrmako777 for teaching me this tonight

Yes.... I have flashed the stock ROM 4 to 5 times. It flashes successfully, reboots, and sticks on the Samsung Logo screen. Tried to reboot into recovery, and as long as I am holding the 3 buttons for recovery, it goes into a boot loop (like it tries to go to recovery, it isn't there, and reboots).

I feel so stupid. I didn't release power while trying to get into recovery. Although I have another problem now, and the searches online don't look good.
My Baseband and IMEI is showing as "Unknown"... Also the phone is very laggy.
EDIT
On this thread I started out by saying that I think I clicked Re-partition, but I actually think I accidentally clicked Nand Erase All... I can get to download mode and recovery mode, but my phone shows Baseband and IMEI of unknown. Any help?
More information:
When going to stock recovery I see a few instances of:
Failed to mount /data (Invalid Argument).
EDIT -
When booting phone I have no internal memory (16Gig).

Of course this would happen today, where warranty replacement will take 2 days to get to me.
I already installed and ran (barely) Triangle Away, and got the counter reset so I am good there for warranty. I am begging the community for two things.
If someone knows a "true dev" that may be able to help me, I would sincerely ask that you point them to this thread and see what they can do. I will be monitoring this thread VERY CLOSELY until I say otherwise (in this thread).
Can someone point me in a direction to hard brick my phone???
here is the pit and when you go into recovery you have to factory reset or it stays bricked http://db.tt/gKSxQKWJ
go into odin and place the stock rom in pda then place the pit on the top where it says pit and make sure to click repartition.then when done take the battery out boot into recovery then factory reset and it should work.
