I think this is the right section for this... But my pictures aren't showing up in my gallery app. They're still on my phone as I can see them in my sd card in root explorer. It was working fine when I was on codename android 3.2 and I changed to rasbean jelly and they were gone. I reverted back to CNA and they showed up for a minute, but now they're gone again. Has anyone experienced this? Any input on how to fix it would really be appreciated.
Look at the Thread under this one. ( seriously )

I know. I panicked and made a new one without thinking. Right after I posted I knew I shouldn't have and then saw it. Sorry. Mod can close this if you want.
i flashed the 4.2 camera earlier. i took one picture, it gave me a error, after it froze, it said that it couldnt access the gallery. after a restart, i went to the camera, cant access it says cant cannect to camera. this is for the new 4.2 camera, and i have the stock camera as well....dont know if this is or was an issue to begin with. but it says the same thing for it as well. cant connect. it also duplicated my gallery. any help is appreciated

When opening the camera, I set the scene mode to Action. Doesn't freeze for me anymore.
If you have a custom recovery menu, try wiping cache and dalvik, then "fix permissions". That fixed my issues when opening camera.
It did not duplicate your gallery. It just gave you another one. One is your old 4.1 gallery, the new one is the 4.2 gallery. If you use the new gallery, you shouldn't have any of the issues. I didn't have to set to action, either, as the other guy suggested.

Well yhe cache n dalvik wipe n i foxed permissions and everything seems to work...is this some thing i should do everytime i flash?

I don't do it every time - only when the app doesn't work as expected. I don't think it would hurt to do it every time if you want to.
Well the camera locked up on me again. Earlier when i took a sphere picture it worked. Then i tried taking a regular photo of my daughter and same issue earleir...couldnt access the gallery and now xamera will not connect. could this just be a bug? Should i....and how would i get this camera off my phone?

I'm only using the 4.2 camera and gallery for the sphere photos. For normal photos I'm still using the stock camera.
Try downloading the camera from my dropbox link. The first zip I tried flashing had problems. This one has been perfect so far.
If it doesn't work for you, I'd use Root Explorer (or something similar) and delete GalleryGoogle.apk and GmsCore.apk from /system/app. That's all I think my flashable zip installs. I'm not sure what the one you installed had in it.
Yeah im not to sure. Ill look back at the folder when i get to my comp. Ill get the zip from ur link though thanks

I honestly don't think the 4.2 camera is ready to be a daily driver for somebody who takes pictures on a normal basis. Just grab the gallery2.apk from the original zip of the ROM you're using and put it in system/app to get your good old camera back if that's what you're wanting.

this was leaked a while ago..it does work 100%, photosphere and everything.. but in order to take a picture without it freezing up during auto-focus, you have to set the scene to "Action".

I have had zero issues with "freezing up" whatsoever. Perhaps that was before we had a proper AOKP build. But now everything works. Though after flashing this, I have 2 camera and 2 gallery apps. lol
Using a file explorer remove gallery2.apk from your system/app folder, reboot good to go!!

This is a noob question, but does this work like the stock Gallery/Camera combo where you can see your Picasa folders? When I was rooted and using a stock Rom I would always upload immediately to Picasa and delete from SD/phone and still be able to see my pics in the folder. Since I switched to JellyBam Rom, I no longer see anything from Picasa, although I can still upload pics to Picasa. I flashed GAPPS 4.1.2, and everything works on the apps, except for the Picasa/Gallery thing. Any help in figuring this out would be greatly appreciated.

Idk but every time I went from stock builds Picasa broke unless the dev rebuilds it in. But answer your question no it does not.

This is correct! Thanks for the heads up on the AT&T SGS III. However since "Action" scene is required to be able to use without freezing users should also note that "Action" scene does not have Flash functionality. (No Pictures in the dark). "Auto" mode still freezing up when Auto-Focusing. I'd say if you want the camera to play with Photosphere and never take pictures in the dark then this APK is for you.
That's is working with no problem on JB 4.1 TW base. And the good part : it not replace the TW camera!

Will flash on Task 4.2.1 right now. Will post results in a few.

Anyone on AOKP rom got this work successfully with saving to SD card? Also will this delete the default camera/gallery app on the AOKP rom?

I don't know about saving to SD. It doesn't delete your gallery it adds another one beside your original.

About the 2 gallery's/2 cameras: In your app drawer after flashing the first one is stock, second one is photosphere. Just go to the app info and disable the stocks.

I've been running this for about 3 weeks and I have never had to set the scene to anything in order for it to work I just leave it on Auto. It just worked 100% straight outa flashing.
Also, because of this I have working flash as well.

No, it's not unstable. You did something wrong, or your ROM is interfering.
Is anyone having issues with trying to load pictures from your gallery onto instagram? Where you try and upload it but the picture comes out black.. When I use the camera on the app itself it seems to work fine, but when I upload from gallery it is black. Seems to be like this on all Roms... So I assuming its the update on instagram? Any insight is appreciated.

I heard over in a development thread they said to use the stock camera instead of the "advanced instagram" camera. But after upgrading to 4.3 it went away completely, but I still use stock camera anyways.
I was having the same problem after upgrading to a ROM with JB 4.3. It went away when I updated to the next most recent nightly. Maybe it's a problem with some of the early 4.3 builds? Try upgrading to the newest nightly or downgrading to the most stable 4.2
Its not they all break for some reason. I'm sure its because of the 3.4 kernel. 3rd party camera apps seem to break. Don't know why or how. That's why use the stock camera.

hey guys, i just found an easy work around.
all you got to do is choose your image from the gallery, apply one of the instagram filters, hit next, then go back and choose the normal filter. it should work out well
Here's what fixed it for me:
1) Open Instagram
2) Go to Options
3) Go to Advanced Features
4) Uncheck "Use High-Quality Photo Processing"
Had the same problem with AOKP on Xperia V - changing that setting fixed it
I dont know if im the only one struggling with this issue but whenever I use a 4.3 Rom and access my gallery, it reboots every time. Its pretty annoying, but I really want to use 4.3. Does anyone know how to fix this issue????

I asked this same question in a different post. Remove ALL MP4 files, and the reboots stop. Unfortunately, we gotta wait for support, or use a replacement gallery that does support MP4 on 4.3... I have yet to find one.
Full system reboot? That's some interesting exception handling!
@tribalartgod Try my rom, its pure cm 10.2 compiled with linaro and I have no gallery issues at all, this is a pic I took with focal and attached via my gallery

I'll give it a go tomorrow. The issue isn't the gallery itself. That works just fine. The issue comes along when you have MP4 files that the gallery tries to read. I have no clue why most ROMs do this...But I will certainly give yours a go and see what's up.
Thanks for this, btw.
