Safe to delete? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

So I came across this directory /storage/emulated/0, and it seems to be a copy of my system that I have under the internal sd directory...
thing is it takes up 2gb. what exactly is the emulated/0 directory and if i already have this all under internal sd is it safe to delete?
some more research and I found the answer... for anyone else wondering.

never seen this before as all my other phone were HTC and had a different folder structure.

It's en emulated mount of the SD Card.
You can't really delete it the mount, bu deleting the files in it will delete them from your SD Card.
It says 2GB of disk usage, but it's the same 2GB of disk space you are using on your Internal SD Card. It's not a different 2GB.
In other words, don't mess with it.

[Q] Where on the SD Card does app2sd put programs?

I'm just wondering what path apps2sd puts files in.
I found online it puts them on mount point /system/sd/ but where on the SD do they actually go?
Are you talking about using the OS to move them to the sdcard (on the partition where everything else is)? Or are you talking about moving them to the 2nd partition (ext2/ext3/ext4 formatting)? Because those are the only places they'd get put. If it's the first one I mentioned, they go to the .android_secure folder
I haven't partitioned my SD card. But using the adds2sd it moves a large portion of the data to the SD card to save space. But I could never figure out where.
So .android_secure. Got it.

Sony SOLA - file storage

Missing the discussion on the phone SONY Sola ..
I have a 32GB phone memory card.
Example - install the game Real Racing 2 or Navigon navigation. Maps are downloaded via wifi, but stored in the internal phone memory (8Gb), but I need to make these files stored on a memory card (32GB), because the phone memory (8Gb) is already full.
It is a 100% solution to this problem?
Sorry for my English (Google translate)
Whats with APP2SD? I dont know if your device can do it but search for it or ask a SOLA User
App2SD memory card does not only displays the phone's internal memory.
Have you tried moving them from settings?
Settings /applications /manage applications click game in the list and click move to SD card
Yes it is a solution to free phone memory. Resource heavy games are quite large. Also you could move other media files in phone memory to the sdcard, just check using file manager if any songs/videos are in the phone. Also, apps such as whatsapp keep messaging history and are better off in your sdcard.

That is very strange. What class is your memory card? Should be written on it or the packaging it came with.

The card is Kingston 32GB Class 10. That is not the problem. This problem has even tablet SONY.
Files from the games (Gameloft) stores only in the internal memory.
try moving de game data from the internal memory to sd
Actually, that is exactly the problem, your phone (and most Sony for that matter) support upto class 4. Your SD Card is too powerful.

I have the same problem. The internal storage is divided into the internal storage and "sdcard". The real sdcard is namned ext_card and you can't really save app data there, because the phone (and the apps) think that the "sdcard" folder is your real SD. Stupid decision of Sony...

Ah.
Now that's just messed up.

It is indeed messed up
I have been looking around a bit, and found some suggestions involving changing the vlob.fstab file to mount the external_sd as "sdcard" and visa versa. Effectively swapping the microsd card and the internal storage. However, this seems like a rather dirty trick, and effectively makes the internal storage less usefull.
An ideal solution would be the have a firmware that uses the entire 8gb internal memory as "phone memory", and that mounts the external sd card as "sdcard".
I have no idea if this is poosible however...

Editing vlob.fstab to solve this problem even Galaxy W.
It's the Sola Sony root? Root "oneclick" ?

This one is definitely going to need new firmware to fix. Hope Sony don't sit on their behinds.

It maybe the same file editing "voldfstab" as the Samsung device? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088474
I've modified vold.fstab from Xperia Sola to mount SD card as sdcard and internal phone memory as ext_card. Archive http://download.hellshare.com/sdswap-zip/7773277/ contains original vold.fstab.bak and modified vold.fstab.new. Rename particular file to vold.fstab and use directions from link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1088474. You should move aplication back to phone from internal memory (if there is any) and copy data from internal memory to SD card before you change vold.fstab.
i'm using directory bind
it's bind the dir in sdcard with dir in ext_card
i found in this forum..search it

Not enough space on SD card error.

I downloaded Talking Santa for the kids but it won't let me play it. A screen keeps popping up that there is not enough space on my SC card but I have 50 gigs of free space. My knowledge is very limited but I unmounted and mounted again and that didn't do anything. I'm also getting this error when I try to move an app to my SD card using app 2 sd.
The app seems to have extra files it needs to download when you open it. It looks like it is trying to put those files on the internal storage. Try deleting some files off your internal SD not external.
This phone does a stupid thing where the internal memory is split into two partitions: Internal and SD card. Apks go to internal and data to SD card. But SD card is really just another subsection of your internal memory! Nothing actually goes to your external removable SD card when you move apps to the "SD card". This is a problem that I know no solution to. Any help?
Haven't had an issue with apps not going to SD. I have noticed that it does leave the empty folder behind on my internal SD.

[Q] beanstalk 4.3 question

Hi, I recently installed beanstalk 4.3 on my S3 and noted that my internal memory is almost full but I can't figure out what is taking up all the space. I'm including a screenshot, are there any scripts or hacks to swap the internal and SD memory for this ROM?
thanks
Use a file explorer and look at the internal storage and see if there is a folder called 0. If this here than it is most likely the issue and you will need to update your recovery and clean out the 0 folder.

I cleaned up the 0 folder but noticed that on my internal memory root folder I have an external_sd and extsdcard folders (which have everything I have on my actual external sd card) in addition to the storage folder which contains my actual sd card (sdcard1) as well as the sdcard0 and emulated folder. I think this is what's using up all the memory (maybe?) any idea why all these folders were created? can I just erase the external_sd and extsdcard folders since all that data is in my actual sd card or are they bound?
sorry for all the questions but I dont want to mess anything up

No don't delete those folders. Those are linked to your SD card should have nothing to do with your internal memory. Nor sure what's going on with your internal memory though. You may want to try saving your 0 folder to a pc then deleting it entirely(the 0 folder). If that doesn't work then maybe go back to stock.

Deleted files from SD card but empty space the same

Hi
I have the Galaxy tab S 10.5 SM-T800 with stock rom
and when I delete files from EXTERNAL SD Card the space doesn't get affected by the deletion, I did that from both samsung stock file manager or from Samsung videos app of course because the device is not rooted
I've tried that for many times and still the same space (deleted files more than 2 GB)
I've tried also hooking the EXTERNAL SD Card to the PC using a card reader and removed couple of large files and the empty space increased perfectly but not from the Tab itself
I think you may be deleting stuff from the internal sdcard and not external.

Excuse me? I'm not following
I'm deleting from SD Card (The external SD Card) not the internal memory
As I stated I tried this from both the tab, and attaching the SD Card to a reader and plug into the PC
The external sd card is called something like ext_sd on the tab s. The internal storage is called sdcard.
Make sure you are deleting from the correct directory.
