[Q] Very Loud In-Call Volume - Please Help! - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hello everyone,
I've been a member of XDA for many years, but since I don't post much, I have to ask my question here, so I apologize in advance.
I am currently using the AOSP ROM - 4.2.2][OFFICIAL] LiquidSmooth v2.8 - d2spr - 07|01|13. Great ROM, I love it. But since the v2.7 build, the in-call volume has been SO LOUD. And trying the fix of maxing out the in-volume, then turning it all the way back down doesn't help either. I did a full wipe yesterday when I upgraded to v2.8, but unfortunately the issue continued. All of the other previous versions of this ROM never had this issue, so I can't figure out why all of a sudden with the last two, it's starting now?? I know this isn't a new issue with AOSP ROMs, and I've had this issue sometimes on other ROMs in the past, and the volume up/down fix worked, but like I said, I can't figure out why it started up again all of a sudden.
ANY HELP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. Thank you in advance!
PS - And yes, I have searched that specific ROM thread, and other threads, and the Internet as well. Never found anyone with my exact issue of it happening later on in the same ROM.

Have you tried something like Volume Control from the market?

Hi, thank you for your reply and suggestion, but yes, I have, & that didn't do anything. It didn't/couldn't lower the in call volume lower than the system default.
Do you have any other suggestions please?

they switched kernels and then back again and that seemed to rectify their problem

i have a rhodium with windows mobile 6.1 stock rom.
Does anyone know how i can change the volume of the microphone for telephone calls?
I have the strange problem that people complain that they can't hear me very loud. When i reflash (hard reset doen't work all the time) the microphone volume is ok again.
Can someone please help me with this problem?
no one has any idea how to resolve this issue?

Does your ROM have a setting for automatic gain control? That adjusts the mike based on ambient noise. On some of my former phones I've had to turn it off or the device lowers the mike sensitivity.
hi, thanks for the reply,
When that option is turned off i can't be heard at all.
i'v got same problem whit my phone when i flashed nand cm7 on it.
is'nt it related to the rom?
is it possible that the flashing changes the other settings of radio or ...
the microphone is working but volume is low and i have to yelling on it to talk with people!

Most volume issues are related to the rom.
Flashing the rom can change the radio, but may not. It will tell you what gets changed if you watch the screen during the flashing.
Microphones do fail. If all roms are having the same issue then you probably have a hardware issue.
Flash back to stock. Then if you are not having issues try asking for help in the thread for the rom you want to flash. If you are still having issues then it is 99% chance that it is a hardware issue.

This.
My gf's phone (completely different device) had a similar issue, and it was definitely not software. I looked, the mic port was clogged with whoknowswhat. Took a pin and carefully picked the stuff out. Mic works great now

[Q] No haptic feedback ("vibrate on touch") in Galaxy Nexus

Hi everyone,
I've looked for a solution all over the net, but seems like no one had this problem before (guess i'm a special girl...):
The vibrate feedback when touching the screen just stopped working, in spite of the settings under "settings -> sounds -> vibrate on touch".
It started after an update to AOKP rom - milestone 5 (based on ICS 4.0.4) + Franco kernel nightly r151, but effects all the other roms. Maybe one untouched system file damaged.
I've tried everything: restore from previous nandroid backup, another rom (CM9), another kernel, another launcher, I even wiped everything and flashed new and clean rom-stock from google developers' page. And yet - no vibrate feedback.
The wired thing is that the haptic feedback is working in few specific applications, like the build-in ICS keyboard and the dialer Dialer-One, so it probably not some hardware failure.
All this time there are five softkeys that still have haptic feedback: the buttons of the nav-bar, the button that opens the applications drawer and the google-search widget.
I've tried using "KickBack" instead, but it's too aggressive and very uncomfortable.
PLEASE, PLEASE - Help me!
Same thing happened to me. I had the exact same setup and the haptic feedback went away after I flashed the kernel. Since I've had lots of issues when trying custom kernels, I just restored a nandroid and went back to the kernel included with aokp.

Restore fixed my issue, so I'm not sure exactly what to tell you.

I've seen some ppl's msgs that even simple reboot fixed their vibrate problem.
Didn't work for me, unfortunately
Some kernels have haptic adjustment, see pic for kernel does.
I'm running Franco 152 and mines fine.
I know trinity kernels lower it

I'm also using Franco kernel, but I don't think this is the problem because i've tried some other kernels and none of them fixed my haptic.
Hi TaliKa
I've just had this problem myself but it happens long after I flashed aokp m5 + franco r152 (too) so I'm not exactly sure what caused it. However after I went to clear my cache and dalvik cache, everything seems fine again.

Thanks guys, but as I wrote in the first msg, those actions didn't help.
Is there any pro here who can offer a profound solution that I didn't tried before?
Which system file responsible for the haptic feedback?
Guess I'll have to stuck without haptic feedback...

How can I adjust the haptic feedback feature in Trinity kernel?

just wanted to say...exactly the same thing happened to me (started with aokp milestone 5 and vibration gone afterwards...)
im trying several things to get it back...i use it alot (at work and most of the time..its on vibrate)
hopefully we'll find a solution
Yeah this just happened to me too. It was working fine for awhile on AOKP and then all of a sudden it stopped. No idea what happened exactly. I tried whiping everything and restoring CM9 but that didn't work either. I thought maybe hardware but the phone vibrated on boot so it isn't that. Hopefully we find a fix...

unfortunately I didn't get any solution yet. Realy depressing.
I promise to update about any progress, and hope you'll both do the same...
Just don't give up! it isn't hardware thing, so there must be solution somewhere.

im starting to believe its a hardware issue (well at least for me) i mean i dont even get a vibration upon booting or turning off the phone...and i even went back to full stock...same thing
maybe it might have been some software issue that led to the overburning of the motor(doubt that though)
what is weird though is that the same scenario happened to us so im lost...
maybe i should start talking to samsung for my replacement
meanwhile...im very open to suggestions that might help my case
hope we find something soon...u guys, does it vibrate at all?when u turn on ur phone?turn off? unlock ?

Yes, it vibrates at boot and also when using application with it's own vibrate settings, like "dialer one" for example.
Did you try using KickBack just to check the hardware?
if it's some hardware issue, maybe you can apply to your warranty supplier about that, just flash stock rom and relock your device before.

Good to know. I went ahead and flashed the base image and it restored vibration, then I rooted and flashed AOKP again. It worked for about that day and then this morning when I woke up the vibration is gone again. I'm almost positive it's AOKP's software. I'll test another ROM (Android Revolution) for a day and see if it happens again.

call volume in liquidsmooth rom

To start off I apologize for posting this here instead of the development thread. I don't have 10 posts so I am unable to do it. I recently flashed Liquid smooth ROM onto my S3 only issue I have aside from voice not working which I can tolerate but in call volume is rather quiet and can't be adjusted what so ever. The issue was mentioned in the development thread but wasn't responded to at all. If anyone can help me it would be appreciated

Have you tried going into settings => Advanced => Sound => and check off extra gain in voice calls?

Yes the call volume is not adjustable what so ever. I tried lowering all the volumes then back up but nothing.
Was running it today and noticed that as well. I'll see if I can find anything about it.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I talked to the Dev and he said it's a common problem with d2.
I believe the latest CM10.1 nightly just fixed this. Give the dev some time to incorporate all the audio fixes from CM10.1 into his ROM.

Low In Call Volume

I have this problem of low in call volume with cm11. Any clues on how to fix this? thanks!

I was having the exact same problem. I ended up going back to stock and haven't regretted it. Rooted, of course. But the enhanced camera/volume functionalities were sorely missed in CM.
Sorry, I know this doesn't exactly answer your question. Just a suggestion.

Volume Control is bugging on my OP3

Hey guys,
atm I'm facing towards a problem like on the screenshots
<---https://goo.gl/photos/UQXesg48QwZLZTyy5--->
I'm not sure how this could happen but i think this is from an xposed module. Someone maybe know what i have to modify to put it right. Atm my minimum volume is 14%. Can't lower the volume from that point.
I tried formatting userdata, system or better said, I clean flashed my phone but this changed nothing actually.

If you're on Open Beta 8 it's a feature of the ROM. I'm not sure why its the case but many people are reporting this, only way to get to vibrate is silent mode.

You can be right, since I'm not sure when this issue started. At OOS3.2.7 i tuned my volume with some xposed modules and after that I flashed the CB3.5.5. Maybe its because I'm using the beta. Can you refer me some points where ppl reporting this? I haven't found anything yet on xda or on the oneplus forums. At the moment I'm using your suggested way for turning the phone into vibrate. Sometimes I want to silent my phone completely and have to go into settings to turn the lever to silent. In some cases really annoying.
kind regards
