Allright, I've been searching for days and I have tried so many solutions
So after I lost wifi on my HTC one X because it just said "error" I read that I needed a new kernel, so I had to root it
I unlocked bootloader perfectly fine and installed clockworkrecoverymod and it was all great, everything functioned great and I hadn't screwed anything up
I put the ViperX ROM on my phone and I flashed it, afterwards I flashed the boot.img with bootloader through my PC that was in that ROM
I started it up, it booted perfectly I was freaking happy, but then my touch screen didn't work anymore but my side buttons and stuff were still working, I was freaking out and I tried restoring my backup with the clockwork thing, and that seemed to work but now it's in a bootloop.
I extracted the original signed_boot.img from my phone's software's RUU and I flashed that, but still no success
before I flashed that signed_boot.img, I also tried going the viperX again and it worked again but still no touchscreen, and I found online that my touchscreen software was too updated for this version or something so I had to downgrade it and I tried to but it didn't work
Also worth mentioning maybe: I tried flashing the signed_system.img from the RUU too but it said the heap was too small? don't know if this is relevant
I hope someone can help me

Go into the recovery and to the sub menu "mounts & storage" then mount the sdcard as a usb diskdrive .....
copy the viper 3.7.4 to it and install as usual

To be honest, I remember I already tried that
When I go into the recovery from the bootloader menu, it just gives a picture of my phone with a red triangle and exclamation mark next to it
I tried this before though, and then it just gave an error about it not being able to access my SD card
Then you have the stock recovery. You need to flash a custom one !!!!

I did that, and I was able to get into my SD card and I put the viperx there and I did everything correctly
but when I try to install the .zip from viper it gets to about 6% when it is checking for filesystem errors, gets a black screen and the phone reboots to the bootloop
Redownload. Maybe a bad download

As mindfreak62 stated this is indeed an issue rooted in some unpublished hardware revision to the WFS. There are a handful of users with the issue and it is presently under investigation here. There is currently no solution that will allow you to run a custom recovery and many ROMs have the same issue. Your best bet presently is to stick with stock firmware until the issue is resolved. You can get back to this state by flashing your device with an RUU.

What is your hboot version? It certainly has strong impact to it. Did you have any JB ROM before?
Watch out your battery, too!

You must have had AOSP ROM! For Sense ROMs you must upgrade HBOOT (read OP in mwilky's thread)!
What is your cid (if you know it)? Or, try fastboot getvar version-main, to check it. This will indicate which RUU/nandroid you should get, if you want to upgrade.
Thank you! Ill get to it tonight
I am not able to update HBOOT

Lock the bootloader, its needed before running the ruu and its needed for the firmware flash.

S-ON doesn't have anything to do with your possibility to see SD card. Try in CWM "mount USB storage". That should work.
S-on stays that way. We dont have s-off. Enter the recovery and mount the sdcard as a mass storage device (usb drive) copy the Rom.zip to the root of the sdcard and flash it.
The option is in mounts and storage - last option

Already tried that, but still i only see a few folders there...the JBFWTOOL warned me that it could wipe everything But why is it still S-ON?
Because we don't have s-off....its not developed/hacked yet. And if everthing is deleted you need to install a new clean rom including flashing the boot.img file

Hi,
i'm using HTC Desire
Bravo DVT1 ENG S-OFF
HBOOT 0.93.2001 (PB992xxxx)
MICROP-031d
And my phone is rooted, but i am unable to run recovery, i tried flashig via fastboot then with Rom Manager but it still doesn't work. When i try to boot into recovery i stuck at HTC sreen (tried from ADB, Terminal, HBOOT, Rom Manager. Tried with different recoveries for ex. CWM,RA,TWRP,..
Try this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1751258
tried all the instructions, but the problem persists .... zip file will be installed through the bootloader but nothing changed and the desire to restart the htc logo when i was trying to boot into recovery
Just a theoretical question, is it possible to root device, s-off and flash hboot without unlocking bootloader via HTC DEV?

Well, you could try flashing a recovery through fastboot. Maybe it will work. If it won't, then flash the 2.3 ruu and restart the rooting process.
ok, i tried to flash RUU, and i have a question, why was my bootloader bypassed? is it normal?
After RUU i tried to flash EXT4 recovery, but when i tried boot into recovery i just get white screen with HTC logo, still same issue

you have quite a rare DVT1 device. it would indicate cdma device, but have seen case where it can be gsm as in this thread. is yours a cdma or gsm device (gsm has sim card)?
in that thread the only recovery that would work is RMD recovery, try flashing that through fastboot. i've never used it myself before.
also i've only skim read the first page, also make sure you uninstall rom manager, you don't need it, it's not good for desire.
Big, no HUGE THX mate. finally! my recovery is alive the only working recovery on my device is RMD recovery and my desire is GSM fyi

glad to see you got it working
for whatever reason, RMD recovery is the only compatible one for your rare device (DVT1 and GSM). don't bother switching recoveries as long as RMD can backup, wipe and install roms.
if you're about to install a custom rom which requires sd card partition (most do), we'd normally recommend partitioning sd card with 4ext recovery, but since that doesn't work i'd recommend Gparted.
oh and again, make sure never to use rom manager with desire.
Well everything worked fine, till i faced new issue i haven't found working rom yet, everytime i flash rom i get only HTC splash screen. And i still haven't found fix for it. I am thinking about trying rom for CDMA phone despite the fact that my phone is GSM, but i am not sure what can happen i hope it won't brick my desire
Hi all, I'm a really novice rooter with the HTC One M7 for Verizon.
I know I'm S-Off with HBOOT 1.56,
and all of a sudden my phone just automatically boots into CWM Recovery.
I've tried loading old recoveries, old zip files, and the response is always
"Can't mount sdcard."
Again, although I'm rooted, I'm pretty much a novice.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hoping I didnt' lose this phone.

Bricking your phone is near impossible nowadays. I wouldn't fret too much.
Are you sure that you're flashing ROMs and recoveries meant for the m7vzw (HTC One for Verizon) and not just the regular m7 (normal HTC One)?
If you're sure that you're flashing for m7zw, have you tried flashing a new recovery through fastboot? i.e.
Code:
fastboot flash recovery newrecoveryname.img
I would ruu. Then set up your favorite recovery and Rom. Start fresh. It will wipe everything so back up your files.

The way I do it is hold vol up and power and once it resets hold power and vol down.
Personally coming from an m7 this is a bit different.

Hi I also need help because I just got my m9 yesterday. Unlocked the bootloader and flashed twrp. However, when putting ARHD in my internal storage, i formatted data accidently instead of just wiping and the stock os i installed is gone as well as the arhd zip that I was supposed to flash. I didn't do a nandroid backup leaving me with nothing now. I don't know what to do. Do I require an sd card or is it just that the internal storage doesn't work in twrp. When I try mounting it or sideloading it doesn't work. The only place where the commands work is in downloader bootloader. So if anyone can please help me will be appreciated as I've got no os or backup at all. Thank you.

Make sure you have TWRP 2.8.6.4 from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/one-m9/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-t3066720
IT has MTP support, and you should be able to copy the rom to the SD card right from recovery.
To be clear.. the phone will mount via MTP on your computer (just like when you had a rom installed) and you can copy the file from your computer to the phone.
