Wifi not working with Sim - HTC One VX

I have a at&t carrier phone, though i have unlocked it for using another network. Everything works fine except an odd behaviour of wifi.
1. I use at&t sim and wifi works
2. I use without sim wifi works
3. If i use any other carrier sim Wifi does not work
Anyone aware what might be the reason?

Maybe try to S-OFF the phone?

The phone is S-off even tried cyanogen rom but same issue.

Try super Cid. Not sure if that would help at all.

I have changed the super CID to 22222222 any other suggestions for CID

LG P930 can't connect to cellular UTMS network

Hi everyone,
So I installed CM10 on my P930. Since then, I couldn't connect to my carrier's cellular network. I can't make calls, receive text messages, or access mobile data. Can anyone give me some advice in terms of what to do?
Thanks.

Hi Rani,
No luck. I flashed every single baseband there was in this thread by drumist (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1842763), but none worked.
well try unbrick and don't flash official ics
I tried the unbrick, no luck either.
I just noticed that the lock screen says no SIM card, when I actually do have a SIM card installed.

Are you on at&t? I think those basebands are at&t only. If you are bad sim?

No, the original carrier is Bell. I unlocked it and I'm using it on Rogers now. I tried another Rogers SIM, but still don't work.
You probably need to put in your APN settings.
does anyone have the Bell stock gingerbread ROM i could restore? Want to send it to LG for warranty repair. I looked at the SIM slot and it looks like its missing a gold contact (top right).

It is a play store unlocked version or carrier locked? If the sim correctly inserted or does the sim work in another device
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk HD
its unlocked, it reads any sim just don't connect to the network, the sim is working good on another phone....
example, i put my orange sim card and it says emergency online on lock screen, but the signal strength is good like -77dbm (on status screen) on status bar is empty....

It appears that the M may be a slightly different variant then the normal I9250. Possibly SIM locked to Bell. But here's some threads to try with your exact issue:

Can you see your baseband in the About Phone screen?
What about your IMEI? Does it match with the one on the label behind your battery?

Sim unlock

I am trying to unlock my sim so I can use simple mobile. Right now I have the latest AOKP on my phone. I also don't have any sim card in it yet. I tried to unlock using *#197328640# but it won't do anything. Do I have to Odin back to stock for it to work? Or is there another way to unlock the sim?

I just did some reading and I see that it has to be stock tw ROM in order for that to work.

unlocking a Galaxy s3 without a sim card
Hi, I just got a tmobile Galaxy s3 since my friend upgraded to an iPhone, however I have service with Virgin Mobile. I've read about unlocking phones to work with different carriers and I'm hoping there's a way to unlock this tmobile phone so i can use it with Virgin Mobile. Virgin Mobile as far as i know doesn't use sim cards. Will i be able to make the switch?

[Q] s3 downgrade help needed

I recently acquired a t-mobile galaxy S3 (t999l)running stock 4.1.2, however my current provider is metropcs and in order to use it i have to unlock it. I currently dont have the money to pay for that so i want to downgrade it to 4.1.1 to do it for free. I was wondering how i could go about downgrading step by step. I would also like to have it rooted.
There is no 4.1.1 for t-999l.. And you don't need to unlock T-Mobile phones to use them with metroPCS.. I know because I've worked for metroPCS.. In other words, you're good to go!!

I tried putting my already activated metropcs sim card in and it asked for sim unlock code. Is there anything I can do to resolve that.

S3 no reception?

My friend got a phone from T-Mobile s3 few weeks ago and unlocked it to use it here in Canada in mobilicity network. But it has like 0 reception it gets reception for few mins than goes to 0 bars. Is it a radio issue or something else? Any help would be greatly Appreciated. Thanks!

Are you sure the unlock was successful? Im not sure how it works in Canada but could it be blacklisted?
While it shows signal does it work for calls and data?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Yes unlock was successful and recognize the network. Gets reception you can make call after few mins loses it and goes to 0 it's not blacklisted as it was purchased outright from the retail store. Right now there is no Sim card on phone and it shows 4 bars.
and for some reason this is the newest s3 i think cause usually its t999v this one say t999l

You might need a new sim card. And the T999V is only sold by the Canadian carriers. The T999L is the updated lte model of the original T999.
After unlocking were you able to use a sim from another carrier and have it work with zero issues? If you only tested it on the network you are reporting problems with that is not confirmation of a successful unlock. Try a sim from another carrier and see if it works.
If it is unlocked then it sounds like an old sim card type issue.

just tried my sim card same issue and we tried with 2 other brand new sim card from ssame provider. i just flashed this March 2014 - 4.3 JellyBean - New!
Note: This is based off of the stock image TMO T999LUVUBNC1
Download :: Download - root66_TMO-L_T999LUVUBNC1.7z through odin thought it might be radio issue but same thing.
her daughter has the same s3 with 4.1.2 and works perfect. can i downgrade through odin to 4.1.2? i think md5 modem might be better.
Unfortunately no. Once you flash 4.3 there is no going back. If its not working with any of the sim cards, try one from another carrier if possible.
Kinda sounds to me like its not unlocked. How did you go about attempting to get it unlocked?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
She will come to pick the phone today I'll ask how did she unlock the phone. But if it wasnt unlocked how does it recognize the Sim? Can you suggest me a modem? But I will ask how she unlock it and let you know. Also when I flash the new 4.3 it didn't erase the call history and also when I reset the phone it doesn't seem like it resets it cause the call history's are still there.

You can only use the 4.3 modems now. When you flash firmware it doesnt erase your data. Not sure why it didnt on a factory reset though, unless its stored on sd.
