Has anyone tested ViPER4Android sound mod with the Xperia ZL?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2191223
Does it work? Does it sound better than other mods you compared?
If nobody has tested yet, I may give it a shot in the next days and post my impressions here.
Well, if anyone cares, I tested it, and it works perfectly with firmware .253 (JB 4.1.2, RomAur 4.1). I just followed the instructions on the related post, with one difference: the correct driver to install is "Cortex A9/15 with NEON" and not "Cortex A8 with NEON" as stated there for Qualcomm Snapdragon chips (it's because the Z and ZL use a newer chip). Regarding sound quality, it depends on your taste, but there is definitely an improvement. And it can coexist with PureXAudio I was using before, it's just a matter of selecting the right mod in "Music Effects" settings.

This is the only and first thread I have actually created and just want to share with you guys how I feel about these nice Xperia S multimedia apps ported to our 2011 devices.
1. BRAVIA Mobile is NOT WORKING with Album and Movies Apps. Which is a bit of disappointment because BE greatly improves the image quality with saturated and less noise colors. If BE is working good Xperia S, why cant the devs make it work to our devices with these apps? Is there anyone in here that can make it work?
If i only know how to do it, I would be very glad to do so. Because these apps are awesome but not that good in terms of visual quality compared to the stock Android Gallery which is kind of old.
I have been searching all over for a fix but no one managed to do so far.
2. WALKMAN looks great but SOUNDS WORST that iPod! Im not sure if its just me, but sound quality on this player sucks big time. I have myself a pair of decent Sony MDR EX310 earphones but I cant hear any improvements over the stock music player. In fact, the default one sounds much better than the ported WALKMAN app. And definitely wont be able to compete with PowerAMP.
I know how Sony sound technology works, DSEE, Clear BASS, Clear STEREO and VPT engine. I have myself a 6 year old sony walkman.
Well maybe because these apps were not actually intended to work as they are with Xperia S with our devices. But, if someone knows how to address this issues, please...
I KNOW WE ALL WANT THE BEST for our 2011 Xperia phones.
Actually the sound quality is never the same as old walkmans phones dont know why but theres a big diference between both sounds
Questions go in the Q&A section
I have two xperia plays and the one with GB plays way louder then JB why? And is there a mod to fix it ? Are Dev's aware of this?

Its because of cloud. There's a mod called louder jb But I didnt really see a difference when flashing it but you can try it. Just search because I don't have the thread favorited so can't link you to it
Sent from my Xperia Play (r800x)
I found a partial fix
Try it out. I think some code was lost when the drivers were ported. I used this mod from team acid the speaker is now almost where it should be

Thanks for the info
This is because of poorly optimised drivers on the Jelly Bean Rom. I'm sure the Rom Developer could fix if he put more time into it. But as other seem to suggest. You could probably download some Mods to make JB phone louder.
oh yes i notice VERY MUCH it tears me apart knowing that JB or CM roms on xperia play will never support True XLoud ( the engine that makes the external speakers loud) this makes me want to get a new phone.
if you download Cosmic Dans version of Miui v5 you will notice that he has implemented some kind of semi XLoud, its like stage 1 xloud like "when you have to plugin headphone to fix xloud on GB" im currently trying to see what it is.
Hey guys, I installed cm12.1 and was disappointed with the sound. I installed a couple of mods but many of them reduce the quality of sound.. Can anyone tell me is there any sound mod that is fully compatible with xperia m and does not decrease the quality of sound like Dolby atmos, etc are ported to the sony z series but i want that type of mods for our beloved xperia m... Please post all the sound mods u may have tested and the best
Project Desire is best mod that i used.
Viper4Android is all you need. I've been using it for almost 3 years and it never disappointed me.
What is the best working sound mod for our phone? rooted. Thanks
Sent from my Nexus 5X using Tapatalk
Probably Viper4Android or the Sony ClearAudio+ mod (link in my signature). Both work relatively well with most Marshmallow ROMs for this device and both sound very good. V4A has more customization so you can tweak and tune your music the way you like it. Sony ClearAudio is a port from the Xperia Z5 and comes with a few toggleable features that can vastly improve how music sounds on this phone (without DSEE HX). Just remember to disable MusicFX before installing any of these because it'll ruin the sound and/or conflict with one another.
Hi fellows,
Is there any sound MOD app for non-rooted mi A2?
A real sound enhancement needs root, but you can try one of the quadrillions of equalizers in the Play Store.
The equalizer is just equalizer! no great sound enhancement, this is why I'm asking about MODs!
There are also Music Players with Equalizers inbuilt, but they're never so good like real Sound-Mods
Did you used previously JetAudio !? if not i recommend to try it and i'm pretty sure u will like it.
What about rooted devices?
For rooted devices I strongly suggest the Viper4Android Magisk module.

Thanks for your reply, i already use Viper4Android, it works very well, i wanted to know why dual speakers mod doesnt work on mi a2 lite.... Im still on Oreo because i dont feel like to change right now, since the phone performance are great and battery life is fantastic, and i used an app that makes the radio works (spirit 2) ... so Now oreo just fit my needs.
If you don't care about security patches, there is no need to switch to Pie.
A real sound enhancement doesn't need root, it needs just the right programming. Try the Noozxoide Eizo Rewire Pro. It's an old project here on XDA, works like a charm on non-rooted devices with absolutely all audio sources and individual output sinks. You can still find this app on the store, and I can confirm that it works like a charm on Mi A2 Lite.
