I was looking forward to using the ICS stock music player, but for some reason the latest google music player does not work well with my bluetooth stereo. I cannot pause music via the controls, i can only play. It also does not support avrcp 1.3/1.4, which is strange since google music from the market DID on my droid x.
I have tried getting poweramp, but i have had my phone restart 3 times since installing it and have now uninstalled it.
I tried downloading winamp, but with the bluetooth controls enabled in the app, the stock music player overrides it and and it seems like winamp needs to be updated for ICS.
Playerpro's settings do not work in ICS and I cannot even get to the menu to enable music controls.
Does anyone have a solution for this? It is strange, as I thought google would have sorted this out by now.
I use playerpro, works fine for me, has did since I got the phone.

I love PowerAmp, still the best music player in my opinion.
I get my Nexus tomorrow. Is there anyone else having problems with it? I've really been counting on Poweramp working.
No problems here. PowerAMP is amazing.
I have Mortplayer on my GN.
so it looks like it might not be poweramp. it could by a bug. If you look here at post 3, http://rootzwiki.com/topic/12773-random-shutoffs/ you will see a guy links to 3 threads that talk about restarts happening when some type of sound is happening..
so it might be a bug in ICS
Mortplayer works great with ogg files over Bluetooth in stereo. I've been using Mortplayer all the way back to the Windoes Mobile days. It's lite and funcctional.
PowerAmp!!
Custom rom and been through several kernels, Power Amp has been great since I first loaded it on the stock phone.

Hey all,
I am experiencing a new bug with the stock Play Music app over the past week. With headphones or an auxiliary cable for my stereo plugged in, the player will pause randomly when a song is playing. And when I unpause the song it will play for anywhere between 5 and 10 seconds before pausing again. This keeps me from being able to hear an entire song. I know it is not a hardware problem because I am able to play Pandora without the music pausing. It is a problem that only occurs in the stock play music app. I am on stock 4.1 on Verizon. I am currently using jame bond khlang kernel.
Any ideas? I have tried uninstalling and re installing as well as clearing data. Nothing has helped. Any suggestions are appreciated. Thanks!
I've had this issue with both AOSP (SlimBean JB 4.3 ROM) and AOKP (Task650 JB 4.2.2) ROMs where when I'm listening to Pandora, the phone freezes and reboots by itself.
For example, the music is playing normally, then I hear a high pitched sound for a few seconds, and the phone reboots.
I have the most updated version of Pandora.
I'm wondering if this is a AOSP/AOKP issue since I had no problems when I had the stock TouchWiz on my phone.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Happens every few days to me as well. I've read and experimented with a few kernel settings and voltages. Sometimes that helps, sometimes it doesn't.

Anyone knows how Play Music works, because sometimes I put music, close the app and it plays in the background. But sometimes it simply doesn't, I close it and it stops playing!!!!!!
Also on the lockscreen; I pause it and the widget stays; but sometimes I pause and the widget disappears!!!!!
I'm running on Paranoid Android 3.99 RC2 (still 4.3)
Hello,
I listen to some podcasts on my phone, and after upgrading to Kitkat, I found that if I pause playback and want to resume after a while, it resets from the beginning.
After some poking around, it seems that the player app and services close automatically after 2 minutes of inactivity. This did not happen on JB before the update.
I have tried using other music apps from the play store and they do not show this behavior and can resume playback normally.
Can I do something about this issue or is this built into the app or the OS. I like the stock player and rather not use a different app if I don't have to.
If it is relevant, I am running on stock firmware 4.4.2 (I9195XXUCNH5).
