na just install custom recovery. (CWM or TWRP)
then first of all made backup of your current stock rom.
then wipe everything and flash rom which you want.
ps no need to s-off.

You need to root

It would also be nice if the OP had mentioned that this is for Marvel, not MarvelC. There will be some frustrated noobs trying to figure out why this doesn't work. Hopefully they don't mess up and flash a Marvel recovery on their MarvelC phone.

More on the You-Tube rooting video....
Here's the process written down from the video together with a bit more info for newbies and a couple of fixes to make clear what is being done. After months of trying to root with many methods, this one finally worked and it's logical.

How to Root Android for the HTC Wildfire S
Date: 2012-0620
This process was originally published on YouTube at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UqCk2NiHTTg&feature=player_embedded#!
and this You Tube link is also posted on XDA Developers at:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1616326
Before rooting the phone, the boot loader must be unlocked and this is done using the HTCDEV website at: htcdev.com. Select Unlock Bootloader and follow the steps provided on the HTC site.
Now on to root the unlocked phone...
The process is basically in 3 steps:
1. Preparing the computer setup.
2. Flashing a ClockworkMod recovery image on the phone.
3. Creating a SD Card with the rooting files (as a zip package) and booting into the recovery partition.
At this time, a Windows PC is needed because you need the phone to register on HTC Sync which is currently Windows only.
1. Preparations:
a. Make sure the HTC Sync is working and that you can connect the phone so that HTC Sync registers its presence. That way, you know that the Windows terminal can communicate with the phone.
b. Download the following file:
fastboot.zip from: http://www.mediafire.com/?50baad8rykng2j0
Credit for this file is given on the YouTube site.
c) Unzip fastboot.zip to create a new folder called "Recovery" which has the following 4 files:
i. AdbWinApi.dll (extension)
ii. fastboot (executable)
iii. install_recovery (batch file) and
iv. recovery (image file)
2. Flashing the recovery file:
a) Power the phone up into the boot loader screen by pressing Volume Down and Power on buttons together. (If you are new to this, you have to power down the phone, then remove and replace the battery before rebooting).
b) Open a windows terminal, navigate to the "Recovery" folder and execute the following command:
<fastboot flash recovery recovery.img>
You should see the terminal report: "writing recovery……OKAY". The process will install the recovery.img file into the recovery partition, so make sure the name is correct.
Reboot the phone.
3. Rooting the phone:
For this section, you need the root.zip file which can be downloaded from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=672519&d=1312...
Add this file to a micro-SD card. Power down the phone and add the SD card.
Boot the phone into boot loader mode using the volume down and power buttons.
Select recovery so that you boot the phone into CWM recovery. Then select "install zip from SD Card"
From the presented options, "Choose zip from SD Card"
Press the power button, then choose zip to apply…
Locate "root.zip" and confirm install with "Yes - install root.zip"
When the file has been read, reboot and check the phone to find the "SuperUser" app installed.
A final check is to download an app that needs superuser access to operate correctly (e.g. "Got Root?").
You're done )
I know a lot of people they root her/his WFS with help from this video.
On a dutch Android Forum the most people that ask how to root, i always tell look as this video and you're done....
Great that the video now on XDA :good:

I am donating USD 100$ to the person who will write a STEP by STEP guide

Hi Guys
I am currently on Mike's ARHD 18.2 Rom and I am thinking of reverting back to completely stock Jelly Bean Rom .
So I am donating a USD 100$ to the person who will write a STEP by STEP guide with links to the correct download points etc. But my stock Rom should be ROOTED and all necessary apps like Busybox , SuperSU, etc should be flashed too.
Also this guide should mention how to achieve those steps , for example
Insetad of saying , FIND OUT YOU PHONE'S CID , it should explain me how to find out the CID such as : Goto Bootloader Mode by pressing Volume Down and Power button > Fastboot USB > Then on your PC at ADB screen type - fastboot oem readcid etc. etc.
Currently I am on Mike ARHD Rom 18.2 , my HBOOT is 1.39
Regarding on how to choose which person will get the 100$ , I think the people who want to make this guide should post a message here and I will choose who and tell him to proceed with the Guide .
I am an XDA member since 2006 and my word is trustable . If you look at Mike's Donation list , I am the highest single donator as well.
I want to make myself clear once more , think of me as a person who does knows just a little on HTC and Rooting and Flashing and ADB and etc. So do not think of me as a professional like you guys.
I prefer somebody who already uses Mike's ARHD rom for One X .....
Thanks Guys
Procedure is very simple: relock your bootloader and flash JB ruu
Re: ROOTing my phone, want to make sure a few things
Sent you PM.
I said , the stock rom then should be rooted as well ......
Yes, yes. No problem at all.
I will compile you a totally noob proof step-by-step guide, just read my PM.

All I need is a Guide, I can not risk making errors and bricking my device.
So guys please do not send me ideas or where to collect the info, you all know what I want and I am ready to pay for it.
I prefer a ARHD rom user to write the guide, but if there isn't any around, I will give TToivanen the go to write the guide.

5: Flash the ROM.
6: Reboot into fastboot.

Sorry I didn't know that ...
Anyway TToivanen made a great guide and now in a few minutes I will follow it step by step .
I already preordered my HTC One , and while waiting for it I will play around with my One X and I hope to get rid of the LOW VOLUME LEVEL bug I am faced with by going completely stock .
I realised on some calls the volume level seems OK, but in some calls the volume is so low I can not hear the opposing person if I am in my car or outside ( where there are other noises around)
Since 1 friend has a completely stock HOX , I hope to reach his Volume Levels when I turn stock , another friend has the ARHD 9.8 and his Volume level is much higher than mine too.
I think the Step by Step guide that is made by TToivanen is just perfect, this is how a guide should be done , some peoble write guides too but I barely see one this clear and easy to understand .
I agree, it's perfect. But not everyone is getting 100$ for writing those guides

[DIY ROM] B5x Based Rom Add what you want

I take no responsibility for any damge caused.
You will make customize this rom yourself by following these isntructions:
Step 1
Firstly Download the necessary files:
B132*= http://dl-uk.huaweinews.com/index.php?dir=Roms/Ascend-P6/
B510*= https://drive.google.com/?usp=chrome_app#folders/0ByjEFdm-4A3EQlZuejlla2xaUTQ
Stock Recovery*= http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23252070760973625
TWRP Recovery^= http://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=23329332407572611
Adb Drivers*= http://adbdriver.com/upload/AdbDriverInstaller.exe
Pure Graphic HD Mod^= http://www.mediafire.com/download/zi7q6fk7cm9lclq/Pure_Graphic_HD_(Rendering+Version).zip
Pure Performances Stock^= http://www.mediafire.com/download/q0a4crr8aq4gm24/PurePerformances™X_Stock.1.4.zip
Pure Audio^= http://d-h.st/32h
Bravia Engine^= http://www.dropbox.com/s/l1m3q18g64yb0av/Sonyengines4.0+.zip
Minimal ADB and Fastboot ^= https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B1S0LCuXCnnmSWh6NGJmSE1BUWc/edit
^ is optional and * is a must
Step 2 Method A
Now the steps will be different depending on what rom you currently have installed if you have a custom or beta firmware/rom installed and twrp you will need to:
Firstly Flash Your Recovery to Stock = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2636231
Flash B132= Extract the B132 file and copy it's dload folder onto your internal memory>then reboot your phone into recovery by>holding pwr+vol up+ vol down continuously untill it starts recovery>after it finishes setup your phone then follow the next step
Flash B510 =(do not flash with recovery) do so by taking the zip file as is(do not extract) and copying it onto your P6's internal memory under the dload folder(if it's not there create it) then on your P6's goto settings>about phone>system update>local>update then let it update. When it's done you have successfully installed Kitkat, if you want go on to (optional further steps)
Flash TWRP = http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2636231 then
Install the mods =Reboot to Recovery>hold pwr+vol up+ vol down continuously untill it starts> Start with Pure graphics>Pure Performance>Pure audio>Bravia>then clear cache> Reboot > And You are done you have a optimized B510 rom
Or if you are already on a stock rom like B111 or so then you can just:
skip the 1 instruction on the list and just do the rest.
[Note]
You can replace B510 with B512,B513 if you wanted to.
B512 = http://dl-uk.huaweinews.com/index.php?dir=Roms/Ascend-P6/&file=B512.zip
B513 = http://dl-uk.huaweinews.com/index.php?dir=Roms/Ascend-P6/&file=B513.zip
Method B
1. Start with Paranoid Android, OMNI or any other AOSP-based ROM.
2. Back up all data with Titanium backup and copy everything you need from your internal storage. ATTENTION: The internal storage will be wiped while flashing, so the backup MUST be on your SD-Card.
3. Copy dload folder to SD-Card or internal storage. (there should be no difference)
4. Boot to TWRP and make a backup in-case something goes wrong.
5. In TWRP wipe everything except internal and external storage.
6. In TWRP choose reboot to bootloader. Confirm that no OS is installed and don't install SuperSU.
7. Plug your phone in your PC and open a CMD.
8. Download B510 recovery.img and boot.img from this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...php?p=51718316.
9. Follow the instructions by @surdu_petru(method1)
(or use this(method 2)choose install recovery image first, then the boot image
or use Method 3>
copy both the recovery and boot img files to your adb folder then>
run these commands:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot flash boot boot.img
fastboot reboot recovery
. IMPORTANT: When the flashing is finished and the phone reboots unplug the USB cable then wait for recovery to open and let it install.
10. You are finished!! The first boot takes some time no need to panic.
Additional:
Reinstall TWRP and flash SuperSU for Root. Than you can restore your backup you made in the second step.

Maybe i got you wrong, but is it possible that i share the ROM with others? Or do you mean that the DIY ROM is only for ourself?
PS: The link for Pure Graphic HD Mod does not work, theres is a typo. The right URL is

Tried the pure audio and the pure performance mods... Audio is better...but performance not so good! Anyway...good job!! ?

-Here we START-
Note: Before Unlocking Bootloader, I suggest you to Backup your TA Partition. (Trim Area) IF in future something goes wrong with network signal related issues or bootloader issue, you could restore this backup. TA Partition can be backed-up ONLY before unlocking bootloader. To backup TA follow this "Guide" and after you could below steps. Also your phone needs to be Rooted to backup TA, if your phone isn't rooted, follow this "Guide"
*_UNLOCKING BOOTLOADER_*
(unlocking bootloader will erase everything on your phone, i suggest you to take backup of your data)
First check weather you can unlock your bootloader. To do so type *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer and find bootloader unlocked status.
IF bootloader unlock allowed = YES (you can unlock)
IF bootloader unlock allowed = NO (you can't unlock)
IF bootloader unlocked = YES (already unlocked)
Then you need to take unlocking code from official Sony website (link below)
LINK1 Unlocking Bootloader
after clicking on above link, on the page just scroll down
1.select your device
2.provide your IMEI
3.you'll get unlock code (save it properly)
Next you need to download minimal adb and fastboot (link below)
LINK1 Miniamal ADB and Fastboot
install it to your computer.
Now we have to connect phone in fastboot mode, follow below steps
1.Turn on usb debugging mode.
(setting > developer option > usb debugging)
2.Turn Off your Xperia Acro S
3.Press and Hold volume up button and then connect usb to computer.
(If you see Blue LED of phone, then everything is going right)
(Let your computer install essential fastboot drivers)
[If blue LED disappears after some seconds and phone starts charging, that means your PC isn't installing fastboot drivers. In such situation REFER Q&A thread POST #4 ]
Now open minimal adb and fastboot (we installed previously)
Type below command
-fastboot devices
-fastboot -i 0x0fce oem unlock 0x(your unlock code without this brackets)
-fastboot reboot
DONE
(Now you have successfully unlocked your bootloader)
[ To check that if you have succeeded in unlocking bootloader type *#*#7378423#*#* in dialer and find bootloader unlock status.
ALSO you'll notice that your phone is factory resetted]
*_FLASHING KERNEL WITH RECOVERY'S_*
As you have STOCK ROM, you need to flash STOCK KERNEL with recoveries (link below)
LINK1 Stock Kernel
-The above kernel cantain CWM as well as TWRP
After opening above link, download respective kernel
Save the above downloaded kernel to fastboot folder on your computer.
-Get into fastboot mode and connect to computer.
(Press and Hold volume up button and then connect usb to computer).
Now open minimal adb and fastboot (we installed previosly)
Type below command
-fastboot devices
-fastboot flash boot kernel_62B196_acroS.elf
-fastboot reboot
DONE
(Now you have successfully flashed kernel with recovery)
*_BACKINGUP STOCK ROM_*
As you have successfully flashed kernel with recoverys, its easy to take a full backup of your system.
To enter into recovery follow below steps
1.To get into CWM reboot your phone, press volume up key for few times when the magenta LED appears.
(To navigate use volume buttons, for selecting use power button)
2.To get into TWRP reboot your phone and tap the screen for few times when the magenta LED appears.
3.Select Backup.
(let the process finish)
I SUGGEST TO TAKE BACKUP FROM BOTH RECOVERY'S
DONE
(Now you have successfully Backed-up your ROM)
Flashing BPaul's Beta2 ROM works ONLY IF YOUR PHONE HAS Beta1 ROM installed. If you don't have Beta1 installed, first of all install it. . If your phone has Beta 1, ignore this and carry on.
*_FLASHING ROM BPaul's 5.1.1_Beta 2 over Beta 1*
For Flashing This ROM your phone (Xperia Acro S) needs to be rooted if your not rooted, follow this "Guide" Also USB Debugging in developers option should be enabled.
A] Download ROM BPaul's 5.1.1 Beta 2 (link below)
LINK1 BPaul's B2
C] Download below minimal GApps for 5.1.1 and copy it to your sdcard/ext_sdcard(link below)
LINK1 GApps for 5.1.1
1.Download fota kernel with cwm recovery (link below)
LINK1 Fota Kernel
2.Copy above downloaded kernel + rom to internal storage of your phone
3.Open minimal adb and fastboot
Type below command;
-adb shell
-su
(confirm popup su request from your phone)
-dd if=/sdcard/hikari-fota_CWM.img of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p11
Now you need to enter into recovery. To do so, restart your phone in recovery mode.
1.Wipe system + factory reset
2.Install zip from sdcard/ext_sdcard
(select beta-hikari...... rom)
3.Wipe cache + dalvic cache
4.Again install zip from sdcard/ext_sdcard
(select 5.1.1 gapps)
5.Again wipe cache+ dalvic cache
6.Reboot
For the first time it can take a looooong time to boot up. So just don't worry.
DONE
(You have successfully installed BPaul's 5.1.1)
OPTIONAL:
For rooting this ROM, just download SuperSU, save it to your phone and install it manually with recovery. (link below)

You just need to copy one of them.
Do not keep it in any folder and correctly write the command or just copy and paste.
Let me know if you fail again.
And post a picture of the error.
PS: Make sure you write cwm command if you copied cwm recovery and twrp command for twrp recovery.

There are many ways available for rooting Acro S.
For Me, 'towelroot' was the easiest way to root my phone. After that, you can manually download SuperSU app from play store.
Even You can try it

Cyanogen ROM are distributed in zip format, so you have to :
- push the zip file to your sdcard
- you need a kernel with recovery (for the time being, the Philz one)
- you enter in recovery mode
- you select "install zip" and the zip file.
once it's finished, install the right kernel
for that, on your PC, extract the boot.img file from the ROM zip file and flash it with flashtool or fastboot
reboot and enjoy

I don't install cyanogen like that,
First I update my phone with EMMA with the Open devices TA
-After I open the zip of the rom and i extract it somewhere you can find it
-take the zip AND THE GAPPS and connect your phone on usb for sending the zip on THE ROOT of your sdcard
-Enter in fastboot, and open flashtool (not emma the other)
-Flash the kernel called : boot.img
-Once Flashed reboot your phone in recovery (up button when the led is purple or violet)
-The led became gold color
- You now are (normaly) in cyanogen recovery
-Wipe data/Factory reset
-Wipe Cache for avoid bugs
-Now the fun part
-Apply update select the ROM and after the GAPPS
-Reboot and enjoy !
If the screen is black for a while after boot it's normal it's the system update
I also recommand you to take the
FXP-cm-12-20150412-UNOFFICIAL-seagull.zip
file because the other in cm12.1 are bootlooping
Now you can enjoy properly without camera and 3G/4G cyanogen
Sorry for my english I'm just a 14 french kid

I got bricked meanwhile. Battery problem I think, not the first time...
ok, i think there is a missunderstanding.
in order to flash the kernel, you need to be in fastboot mode (with the blue light). so, once you have installed the zip file, shut down the phone (in recovery mode, select "power options/power off" , disconnect the phone and reconnect it in fastboot (maintain the vol up before and during the USB connection ).
you can now use "flashtool" (the Androxyde's one. to avoid confusion, the Sony's one is called EMMA or if it is more easy for you fastboot.exe
to use fastboot, you open a command line (Windows+R + type "cmd") , you go to the folder where the boot.img is and you enter the comand "fastboot flash boot boot.img". after ~2s the kernel is flashed, you can disconnect the phone and restart.
the first time, the boot time is about 5 min with a black screen after the animated screen, so wait a moment.
it's for that it's very important to have a well charged phone (min 40%) because the first start use a lot of battery, and you can't see anything.
I want to restore, I just installed the zip. Why cant I enter recovery?
edit: ok, I entered cyanogen recovery. will try to boot now. but I dont have backup/restore option....
