[Q] Jagged/Low Res Display - Multiple ROMS - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Hey everyone! Thanks in advance for helping.
I've been running a CM9 nightly from Dec 23rd for a while now, being too busy to change.
Yesterday, I backed up everything and did a full reset (factory, cache, dalvik) and flashed the latest LiquidSmooth ROM and the gapps package they have in the thread. Restarting the first time, the liquidsmooth logo just kept going during boot and never sent me into the OS, which isn't unheard of, so I just held the power and hoped nothing bad happened. On the next reboot, everything was fine.
Here's where the problem started: The little curves and detailing on everything, from the type to the app icons to any image, all looked jagged! The battery indicator circle in particular looked terrible. Now mind you, everything worked fine and was entirely usable, but the fine edges just cut into my eyes.
So, I reset everything again, and glashed the latest CM10.1 Wild in the Night. Same exact look! Sorry I don't have images, but I took screenshots and I ran into another problem with the media process freaking out on the ROM.
Here's the kicker: I restored my CWM backup, and CM9 looks perfect. Maybe it's AA or something? Not sure. Any tips? Thanks!

Flash back to stock and see if that fixes it.

Its a CM10.1 kernel issue. So it will affect roms that use the same kernel, which is everything AOSP 4.2.
TW jellybean, or anything ICS or older will not have the issue.

Ah, so everyone else on AOSP 4.2 is having the same issue? Or is it just a known bug that some encounter? If that's the case then I guess I just find the best JB ROM for now.
The odd thing is thta I've googled around with multiple keywords and no one else has mentioned it, although I may be using the wrong terms.

I'm not seeing this issue on the newest pacman from a few hours ago. I imagine other aosp ROMs will soon follow.

Need help finding compatible ROM

Ok so I have US Cellular's version of the Samsung Galaxy SII Epic 4g Touch (SCH-R760).
Long story short I messed up my build.prop folder and am stuck in a bootloop. I'm trying to find the stock ROM to flash with ODIN for my model but cant find it because its an obscure model. Does anyone know where I can find the stock SCH-R760 ROM, or a ROM compatible with my phone?
I'd even be cool with a custom ROM like Cyanogenmod, as long as its able to be flashed via ODIN and is compatible with my phone. Thanks in advance!

here ya go
thank you so much! worked like a charm. i really appreciate the help. i made sure to save the rom files to my computer as well as performing a nandroid backup to prevent this from happening again. also, i was wondering if theres a stable ICS rom compatible for my phone yet. i searched around for it, but i dont trust my judgement.
If not ICS, what is a good souped-up fast custom ROM?
Can't go wrong with calk's E4GT EL29 ROM. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332837

Ones that are made for your phone, obviously. Not gonna find them here though. Your phone is new and on a smaller carrier so development is going to be slow. I'm sure if you give it some time there will be a few ROMs that pop up. Just enjoy the stock ROM for now- root it, debloat it, toss some tethering into the mix. You'll be fine.
That link I put up has all the custom stuff I could find for your phone. Mainly CM7, CM9, Miui and AOKP.

Thanks again guys. Sorry Root i didnt realize that was on that thread i shouldve read the whole thing. Im good for the time being. Metalhead ive done all that so far rooted, debloated tether installed, and minor build.prop tweaks. I appreciate all the responses!
So it would seem that my gps doesnt work now. Any suggestions? Maybe an update/zip that ibcan flash via cwm?
CM 11
I have an sch-r760 on Alltel. I am running dastin1015's Villuminati CM 11 for the D-710. It is running flawlessly. I have voice/text/mms/data all working.
Any D710 ROM will work

[Q] Flashing of any JB ROM fails

Hey wonderful people of XDA,
I picked up an S3 yesterday and rooted it no problem. I can install ICS roms fine, but CWM errors out when trying to flash a JB rom (I have included a pic to show exactly what I mean)
It is a Telus S3, but from what I've experienced before with rooting, AT&T should work as well. However, correct me if I am wrong.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Read that. It talks about error 7, although they said they fixed it. The first time I tried to flash AOKP that happened and I just rewiped everything and tried again and it worked.
Thank you! I'll check it out
I had same problem I just updates to 5.8.4.7 and it worked fine, make sure to fully wipe

[Q] Caller ID showing weird symbols

So I am having an issue where my caller id from people not in my contact list is just showing weird symbols.
http://postimage.org/image/jq6n7ftuv/ - here is the image as it wont let me embed it currently.
As you can sww just weird symbols.
I am currently on CM10.0 with the KT747 kernel. I have tried different kernels and different roms to no avail. I believe the problem started when I flashed the AOKP rom but I am not 100% sure.
I have tried wiping everything and installing just CM10 and that did not work. I am not sure what else to try.
I am having this issue as well. I have also used several roms and kernels however this issue persists. Currently using i747z rom on Rogers.
That's actually kind of cool lol

I only noticed this recently (early December). Do you think a restore of a nandroid backup previous to December would fix this issue?

I am seeing this on my LG P930 (Bell Optimus LTE) on CM10.1 (2/21 nightly) unlocked and connected to Rogers network.
I read, somewhere, that this is a problem on Rogers devices that are not using stock ROM's. And yes, I too have this issue running a 4.2.2 ROM.
Flash a different modem. That will fix the issue.
There is another thread here with people having the same issue and it was the modem. So before you start wiping everything flash a new modem first and see how it goes.

[Q] Hardware Info Showing on Screen

Hello all. I got the stock 4.1.2 software for my T-Mobile Galaxy S2. I now have the hardware information showing up on my screen. Is there any way to get rid of that? It's very annoying and makes it difficult to see what is on my homescreen or menu.

In developer options, uncheck "Show CPU usage" might be it.

I actually tried that, with no luck. I took a screenshot to better illustrate what my issue is right now.

Sorry....can't help, aside from asking if you checked out the other couple threads about this. Very isolated and strange glitch.....but maybe they solved it?
Tho I'm sure reflashing was the answer.

I got rid of it by restoring a backup and then re-flashing the JB update with Odin. There are other people that had a harder time getting rid of it so YMMV.

I tried using Odin 3.04 and no luck. Here's what I am stuck with right now. Hopefully this picture will work. If not, the link is here:

Just had this same issue. It appears that when you odin to the jelly bean update from a non-factory stock rom it places the phone specs in the upper left corner in black type that overlays everything and won't go away, even if you zero out the flash counter, darkside wipe, and re-flash the factory jelly bean rom.
I got rid of it by odining back to the factory ICS UVLE1 load and the overlaid type disappeared. Odin Updated to the factory jelly bean rom and all is well....... NOT!
OOps! Showed back up after setup. Had to go back to the ICS stock rom and flash CyanogenMod 10.0 from there. Still appears on stock jelly bean load. Might be a kernal issue. Any rom based on the released 4.1.2 stock brings back the problem.....

Chargig issue on 4.4 bootloader

Hi im new to the note 8 and foolishly updated to the latest kitkat before flashing aosp & cm roms but now when device is off the screen wont turn off and it doesnt seem to be charging (but it does when switched on)
I understand this is an issue with the new bootloader however is there a fix for this or a specific cm/aosp rom that works without the charging issue?
In the meantime I'm stuck on stock tw so any help would be greatly appreciated

Have you tried the latest nightly? From what I have read other CM11 based roms fixed this issue back in July and from reading the thread for the N8 it almost seems as if they fixed the issue as well. It would make sense that if CM11 for another Note device has this fixed that it was carried over.
I'm don't know for sure just relaying what I have read.
