Screen won't turn on, battery indicator light works - Kindle Fire 2 Q&A, Help and Troubleshooting

I recently installed Alien Droid for kf2 on my kf2 and everything was going smoothly so I doubt it was that, but I woke up this morning to a kindle fire that wouldn't turn on at all, the screen doesn't flash or anything and it just stays blank. I've done the hard reset where you hold power button for 20 seconds and still nothing. The battery indicator light comes on when I plug it in and it will turn off when I do the hard rest. Could this have anything to do with maybe the battery dying overnight?

While it's plugged in to the computer (given time to boot normally), are you able to communicate with the device via adb?

Nope, I've also left it to charge for about six hours. Now when I try to press power button it flashes green but the screen does nothing

I would suggest checking to see if it can be detected by Linux (lsusb). If not, your last available option may be to try and usbboot. I can't imagine what would cause the device to act such a way, but guess it's still remotely possible that the bootloader or bootloader partition got corrupted.
Hopefully, you're not looking at a bad eMMC.

I have a suggestion that your kindle has a bsod (black screen of death) hold the power button for 20 sec. and then press it another 3 sec. hopfuly i am right and your kindle will turn on. have this bsods 1-2 times per day.

It absolutely sounds out of power.
I know when my kindle isn't charged the light blinks like that. Maybe if the above suggestions don't work.. Try another charger

I just realized you have a kf2 and not a kf1, so usbboot is obviously not an option for you. Disregard my previous statement.
You' already tried the hard shutdown and you say you've let it charge, but have you tried letting it charge while completely powered down?
Outside of that, I wish I had a better suggestion for you. It's definitely an odd situation.

unknown boot loop/brick

Hi all,
Ran into something new and may be educational to all of you at my moronic expense.
System Config:
Rooted with twerp recovery 2.0 and i am pretty sure i am running kernel 3.0. I have the Kindle fire utility as well as the Kindle Unbrick Utility
What i did:
one of my biggest enjoyments with this community is the folks at CM, so after flashing a new CM9 rom, i believe i left the fire too long without charging her. Battery died completely.
My problem:
plug the fire into the wall: power button turns green, screen lights and yellow triangle comes on with the "press power button for recovery' phrase.. after 15 seconds (approx) power button changes to orange and the fire reboots. power button turns green, screen lights and yellow triangle comes on with the "press power button for recovery' phrase.. and the process continues over and over again.
plug the fire into USB: same thing
Tried to use KFU:
fire will not mount so obviously device will not connect.
stuck at <waiting on device>
Device will not even register on the desktop. so the driver fix that is running around as of late failed
tried to shell with ADB: fire will not mount so obviously making a connection will not work
tried KUU:<error: device not found> and <waiting on device> are the returning messages.
I believe this is beyond the soft brick realm however, if any of you super developers out there can assist, I will greatly appreciate it.
thanks in advance
sounds like a dead battery.

with that in mind, is there a way to charge the battery without having the KF power up or run through the loop it is currently in?

will it charge going through this perpetual cycle?
it seems when ever i plug anything in to attempt to charge the KF, it is vaulted into this cycle.

Having the exact same issue and no one seems to help past this point. :/ If you find an answer would you mind shooting it my way too? I've been searching for days about this.
While it's plugged in, hold the power button until it shuts down completely and leave it alone for a while. If that doesn't work, your next step is a factory programming cable.

Kindle Fire Charging Infinite Boot Loop

I installed the AOSP JELLY BEAN 4.1.1_r1 (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1765288) the other day and it was working fine. The problem is, I used it too much and the battery died on me. Fine. So I plugged it in to my pc via usb to charge it up. The Kindle fire boots to the TWRP triangle and then instantly shuts off. Well I thought maybe the battery is just really drained so I left it plugged in and went to work. Got home and it was still doing the same thing; boots to the TWRP triangle and then instantly shoots off and repeats. I unplugged the usb and tried using the outlet charger; same thing. Disconnected and tried to turn it on and nothing happens.
Figured I maybe bricked it somehow (even though i didnt update, delete, wipe anything). So I tried using the unbrick command lines...nothing. Tried the KFU cant find my device since it shuts off every 2secs.
I cannot figure out whats going on. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
Plug it into the charger and hold down the power button until it shuts off. Then wait for a 2-4 and check back on it.
Once it boots back normally make sure to update FFF and TWRP.
That didn't work. I plugged it in with the ac adapter and it wouldn't allow me to turn it off (i plugged it in then tried to turn it off). I let it sit for 8hrs and still boots up to the TWRP logo and instantly turns off and wont even turn on without it being plugged in. Thanks
Hold the power button down for 1 min it should shut off
it still does not work
Please post here some detailed instructions to turn on this device.
I'm tired of holding on and buttons in different combinations.
Sorry for bad English
If you have fff 1.4 a there really is no magic combination just simply power it off and plug it in via usb to your computer. If you do not have fff 1.4a then look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1623244
Did u leave it to charge overnight.. cos i also had the same problem, which i primarily due to low battery charge..
Connect it to the charger and let it charge if possible overnight.. then try switching it on.. it shd definitely work
Read the below link.. u will get an idea as to why it is happening

Galxy s2 Vibrating and crashes at loading bar.

So i've looked around and no one that i've seen has the same exact problem as i do. Here's my post in another forums about my problem.
Here's my story about my Galaxy s2 for T-mobile. My phone randomly turned off 2 days and whenever i tried to turn it on, it would restart and basically never get pass the blue loading bar screen. Second, i found out about this boot loop sequence and i was able to do a factory wipe.
After i factory wiped the data etc off the phone, i was able to use it until it ran out of battery, but then after i found out it ran out of battery, it wouldn't let me turn it back on, it wouldn't get pass the loading screen, once again. On the other hand, i am able to go to recovery mode or download mode, but the phone shuts off before i can even try and click on the options i want.
Today, i found out that if i kept pressing power button consecutively on the phone, I'd be able to go to my home screen and basically act as if nothing ever happened, it'd function as a new phone! I then had the nerves of turning off my phone just to make sure it finally works now, but my hopes were crushed and now the pressing the power trick does not even work anymore. It would probably work one out of 10-15 times, and in the end it'd still restart. I am using a gingerbread galaxy s2. My friend tried using the usb jib on my phone, and it worked but whenever he tried to plug in the usb, the phone would just restart. I am extremely frustrated with this, and if you can help, please do so because it's important that i fix this phone. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask!
Hi there, thank you for the welcoming me to the forums. No, my phone is not rooted, it has always been gingerbread etc i never tried rooting because i never knew how:/ I believe this started when i was just browsing around facebook, so i'm not entirely sure what happened... Uhmm i tried going to download mode through the volume keys and power button when it's connected to usb to the i think it's odin3? and it'd be in the download mode but as soon as the computer says it's connected, the phone would just turn off again and bam, it's like nothing ever happened. My phone does charge when it's plugged in, but it doesn't show it's being charged but i remember my battery was dead last night and i charged it till today and now it's got power. ANd no i don't have a warranty:/ i really hope you can help me
Sounds like a faulty power button. Check out Mobiletech video for thier power button repair service.

[Q] Phone won't boot after battey depletion

I am having troubles booting my phone after the battery depletes and the phone shuts off. My Optimus G is rooted with lifeless Rom v14 and I have TWRP recovery.
So once the phone dies, I plug it in to charge, and the phone screen automaticaly comes on and the LG logo flashes for a second, but nothing happens. The phone doesn't actually charge. If I remove the phone from the charger, the display still stays on until I hard reset it. I cannot access recovery mode or download mode for some reason. Usually when my phone dies, and I plug it in, it will flash the LG logo, keep the display on for a few seconds, and then shut down and restart and show the battery logo charging. I am not getting that this time, and I can't seem to do anything to get it operating again. There also isn't a red LED light to represent charging either. If anyone has had this issue before or knows how to fix it, I'd really appreciate the information right now.
Thanks

That actually just happened to me too
All I did was unplug the phone, hold the power button until the screen turns off, and power up the phone. I do think the phone may need to plugged in for a bit after it does before it will boot. Hope you find a solution.

I had to use LGNPST and teenybin to get anywhere. I got the program all setup and after trial and error, I fixed the problem, only to be found with another problem. Now my phone doesn't seem to want to charge. It will go to the charging screen and everything, but the red pulsing LED isn't on like it used to be, and it doesn't seem like it really is charging. on TWRP, the battery percentage doesn't even show, except until recently it started showing, and then it disapears because it has no power. Any help?!

Random brick

Hello, last night as I was sleeping, I noticed my phone randomly rebooted. Thinking it was because of a kernel issue, I ignored it. I woke up, left my house, and another reboot. Half an hour later, constant reboots; boots up, goes to the lock screen, reboots, etc. I came home today, my pc does not recognize any phone connected. When I plug into the wall, I get a red notification light for a few seconds, then the light dies. During the constant reboots, I could go into download mode, but after a few seconds, it reboots. I never was able to get past the Samsung boot logo after recovery mode. I unplugged battery and replugged, nothing.
I was on rooted Jellybam 4.2.2, Ktoonsez kernel. I cannot remember the last time I flashed anything, but it was atleast a few months.
My microsd also died a few days ago.
Life sucks; any comments?
EDIT:
on second note, I just replugged battery and quickly went to download mode, and it lit up, then died after a second or two.
For some reason, when I put in my battery, the phone turns on.. I thought it only does that if the phone was uncharged for a few moments..
Could my internal sdcard be fried?
You don't have a brick if your phone still turns on.
Check to make sure the battery is good
And also check and make sure the power button isn't stuck.....
Those have been the culprits for many "bricks" for a while now.

I switched the battery with a back up, same problem.
How do i make sure the power button isnt stuck..? It clicks when I press it.
EDIT:
I just took the phone apart and freed the power button so the display and the motherboard are laying side to side with only the display connected to the motherboard.
The phone still turns on automatically when i plug in the battery.

I think it might be the power button thats some how stuck, but I cant figure out why.
I opened the phone and everything seems fine..
I spam pressed the power button out of boredom and my galaxy booted up fine, then died again.
EDIT: wow, i kept spamming the power button and now it boots up fine..
