This issue has been raised elsewhere, but I haven't posted enough to have permission to reply in the relevant thread. See here:

I'd like to add some detail to what's mentioned there. I'm on the CM10.1 nightly (dates discussed below), KT747 6.8.2013, Apex Launcher.
As in the link above, nightlies as of 6/19 have volume problems for me. I happen to have the 6/16 nightly already downloaded, and have no volume problems on it, so I keep going back to it after trying new nightlies.
I've tried the things below with Rocket Player, Pocket Casts, VLC, and several audiobook players (Mortplayer, Akimbo, etc.). The results are always the same.
1. Start the GS3, open an app, play something.
2. The volume is as loud as it would be were it set to max, no matter what you set it to. (The OSD for volume goes up and down but the sound doesn't.)
3. If the volume is set to 0 (silent) then it shuts off. So there are only 2 levels: max and silent.
But:
4. AFTER doing the above with one app, if a second app is opened and sound played, then the volume works normally for THAT app (but still not the first one). Same with the third, fourth, etc. apps tried.
After a reboot, or after the first app is force stopped, then the process can be repeated (with the same app or another as the first one) with the same results.
Other than the mention in the thread linked above I can't find info about this issue.
I apologize if I left out relevant info!
I still have this same issue, right up to today's 7/8 nightly. I keep having to go back to the 6/16 nightly that works without issue.
Is nobody else having this problem, other than me and the two people in the thread that I linked in the previous post?

I assume you are doing full wipes ?
I haven't been, no. Nothing other than what I described above is broken so it didn't seem necessary. But I'll give it a shot tonight and post back with the result.
Thanks!

I know the first one is probably nitpicky. I did just finally get CM6 to the point where it's buttery smooth, faster than EVERYTHING else out there, and works 99% how I want it to. A few things that bother me yet, and I'm hoping someone can help me out. I have read through all (yes, all 700 odd pages) of the CM6 thread here, as well as checked over the cm wiki, the cm snap thread, and even delved into the source for one thing (battery related, different thread). What's left is low hanging fruit that hopefully is just something that's common knowledge that I missed.
Running CM6 final, with GAPPS from 8/17, snap 8.2-850 on a nova 002
Jittery fade on screen off:
This was always described as a "smooth fade" when the screen turned off by my friends. It's much smoother on theirs, but when I turn my screen off, it's like it's only hitting 3 brightness levels before it goes off, and it takes FOREVER to finish the process (1+ seconds) after I've hit the power button. I have disabled setcpu profiles in an attempt to fix, as I've got a screen off profile. No dice.
Settings->Sound crashes every time:
Pretty much just as described. I simply can't enter this part of the settings application. That means no ringtone changes, I've got to use a different app for volume adjustment, etc. etc. Basically, it's a pain. Attached is a logcat excerpt from when I ran logcat via ADB while trying to diagnose myself.
The first question to ask is..Does it do that without the snap kernel?
im running snap kernal and have neither of those issues.
Yes, this happens using snap or stock cm6 kernel. I did want to post that i was using snap to give a clear picture of my current phone conditions though.
- From my EVO
Hey everyone,
I had been running RC2 of Synergy before I upgraded yesterday to RLS1. I didn't notice the issue running RC2 for about a month, so it must be something new in RLS1...or something I did to it.
I can't get my Dinc to stay on a profile. When I turn the ringer up so I can hear it, then set it to Vibrate or Silent...the ringer somehow stays all the way up where it was. Does the same with notifications and such too. It's like I have lost all control over the audio on my phone.
I had Audio Guru installed and thought it might be doing something odd, so I played around with it (which it was acting funny too) and actually un-installed it to see if things changed. They didn't, issue still there. Just wondering if it's something I did...or if anyone else is seeing this in the RLS1 of Synergy.
I would have posted in the Synergy thread, but I don't have my 10 posts yet...
NOT FIXED (prev FIXED?)
Well, I wanted to edit my original post (below) because it's misleading. It was fixed UNTIL I did a reboot. I've tried 3 times to re-flash with full triple wipes and it always happens. The last time I even left Titanium Backup alone and just the let the phone restore what was linked to my Google account, but sure enough, after 1 reboot, the issue came back.
I have a bug thread open on the Synergy project, go comment if you're having the issue too - an Evo guy already said he is having some similar issues too. I tried to post the direct link, but apparently I haven't met my minimum to do that either. So, go to the Synergy thread and click on the link in the NOTES section that says "Please report any bugs Here".
-----------Original post------------
Well, I don't know what I did to get the issue to present itself, but after biting the bullet and doing a re-wipe and re-flash, everything is working as expected now. Maybe I was a goof and I forgot to wipe the Dalvik last time...who knows...
Anyhow, I'll re-post if it presents itself again, but it appears to be FIXED now.
This problem just started for me and I have experienced nothing like it. I'm running the LG p930 with CM10.1.3 RC2. Yesterday, the phone began restarting whenever it tries playing a sound. This happens in Netflix/ Youtube once a video starts, Pandora when it attempts to start playing a song, even the sound panel when I use the volume rocker to try changing my volume and it attempts to play the little beep. It also happens no matter what speaker it tries using - headphones, speakerphone or earpiece, meaning I can't actually use the telephone functionality of the device either..
As far as fixing- I've tried clearing the cache and dalvik, fixing permissions, and even flashed several other ROMs. Everything seemed to have the same problem. Does anyone know what could be going on?
This exact thing happened to me. I couldn't find any information on it.
I had to completely format and un-brick the phone. I'm not even sure that it worked the first time. But after completely wiping and un-bricking a couple of times, it was back to normal. I think this is the guide that I have always used for that.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597488
Hope this works for you. I know that problem can really suck.
Thank you so much! I'll try this. I can't believe someone else had this issue, it seems incredibly rare. Can you tell me more about it? What ROM were you running? could you play any sounds at all?
Thanks again
I know what you mean. I was surprised to stumble across this post about it. I feel like I have had a few issues that just seemed very strange with this phone.
Mine was just like you described. I couldn't even change the volume without it crashing. If my phone was on vibrate, I could see the call come through. When I answered the call, the phone crashed.
I was probably on a PAC-ROM or CM10 Nightly. But like you, I probably went through every available ROM, stables and nightlies at that time. I think I even tried to flash a stock ROM.
Thank you so much. Actually, you don't have to follow the whole guide. All you need to do is download the image files, and skip to step 4 in the section "Restoring the original Nitro HD images:" Then get cwm working, and move on from there with whatever ROM you want. I would never have thought to try this. Thanks again.
I sometimes experience this. The bottom speaker stops working until I reboot the phone. I am investigating to find a correlation with some apps I use, yet this should not happen. Anybody else experiencing this?

Is the phone modded or stock? If modded, what custom ROM? Did you do a clean install?
Stock Sense rooted (unlocked bootloader + installed SuperSU). No other mods except for swipe to sleep.
EDIT: I say the bottom speaker stays silent "until I reboot the phone", but actually I reboot it as soon as I notice this, maybe if I waited some more time the problem would disappear without a reboot. I believe this only happened to me twice or three times at most so far.
Confirmed using Chrome
I encountered this issue and was able to narrow it down to an issue with Chrome(34.0.1847.114).
After visiting certain webpages I noticed the following issues:
1. When adjusting the volume the device shows that I am adjusting the “In-Call” volume.
2. No audio comes out of the bottom speaker.
3. The top speaker level is very low.
4. Wired headset will play at the previous level and it cannot be adjusted.
Here is a site that you can try that will put the device in this mode 100%: sci2.tv Go to the site, select home and you will notice all of the symptoms listed above. Go back to Chrome and close that page and the issues will clear up. Opening this link with other browsers does not create this issue. It also happens on the GS5.
Chrome 35.0.1916.122 fixes this problem.

*Originally I posted this in the Help section of the G3 forums but got no help, so I am posting this here*
Hey all,
So I'm posting this thread regarding a couple pretty weird glitches and bugs occurring on my G3, 3 specific ones.
The first: (Probably the least serious but still REALLY annoying) At EXACTLY 12:00AM every night no matter what timezone I set the phone to (I'm in AU on the AEST GMT+10 timezone but it does this at the same time on any timezone) the phone will switch it's WiFi off automatically without warning, reason or explanation. It just goes off and then I have to manually turn it back on. Sure I could use an app such as Tasker or AutomateIt to turn it back on but I don't see why this is occurring in the first place?
The second issue (Most recent): Lately after updating to the V20E firmware for my D855 I've noticed that a graphical glitch (Specifically related to the colour Blue) occurs when there are fast moving elements on my phone's screen (Such as when I move a chat head around on my phone from Messenger, or when I'm scrolling Facebook or my App Drawer fast, there's just a blue box around whatever object/s appear to be moving on my phone's screen. I've not dropped the phone at all, and it has only been present since updating from the V20D ROM. Not sure what could be causing it.
The third and by far the MOST ANNOYING of the issues I'm having, is that for no apparent reason, whenever I am listening to Music with the stock Music player, and I lock the screen (The screen goes off) about 5 seconds later weird stuff starts to happen..
The song will pause, play or even stop completely, seemingly on its own. The "phone" will change songs, artists and sometimes complete albums and playlists completely by itself, with me doing nothing but staring at the lock screen (It keeps doing it until I re-enter the Music app, then when I lock the phone the whole cycle just repeats itself.)
I've done some looking around and careful observations on the phone itself, and it seems that before the weird stuff starts happening to my music, the phone opens Voice Mate by itself, and then if I'm not present, it apparently closes it and then that's when the stuff happens. I've tried everything I can on a non-rooted phone to stop this. I've tried re-installing the Music app, Uninstalling all updates to the Voice Mate and it's packages to the factory version, force-stopping Voice Mate, everything and no matter what I do the phone still opens Voice Mate and the weird stuff starts happening (It's like it's taking commands from Voice Mate to do something but I'm not even doing anything ) It's been doing this since I got my phone when it came with Android KitKat 4.4 (I was on the D10M ROM until I moved to the D20D Android L ROM) and I moved ROMs doing a completely fresh start ( I factory wiped the phone and then upgraded via a CSE flash and put all my stuff back on it manually) and I would've thought a completely fresh start would have fixed it but apparently not... Either it's a bug that's been present for a while, or it's something deeper than the ROM.
So yeah some pretty weird issues, if someone knows what could be causing them, please let me know, especially if you know a way to solve them.
Cheers guys.
I'd do a factory reset for bugs 1 and 2. If that doesn't fix it, then do a clean flash from LG's Flash Tool. Regarding the first one, I think that it may be due to Quiet Mode on your phone? Or possibly even Battery Saver automagically kicking in at 12.
But yeah, backup your data and do a reset. It fixes around 80% of bugs after an update (As a rule of thumb I reset just before and right after an update to avoid any issues.

As I said before I've done a factory reset and complete re-flash via CSE, and nothing has fixed it it's been the same since I updated :/

Yeah I thought that but I wanted to know if anyone here has had the same issues.

the WiFi issue seems like its something to do with battery saver/quiet mode (to me anyway). Unless your router is kicking the phone off at that time?
EDIT:
oh and regarding the Voice Mate issue it could be either the jack or your headphones?
