Sky Note 4.3 tested on Note II International (N7105)

Hi All.
I'm too eager to wait for official/leak 4.3 version of Galaxy Note II N7105, so I found and managed to flash "Sky_Note_4.3 R8-1" on my N7105. Please note that this development is originally for USA AT&T version (I317) and doesn't officially support N7105 version. I was very delighted to see most things work on this rom. It took several attempts for me to figure out that external card's speed was the one giving me a hard time and multiple failures to complete flashing. It was an older 8GB class 4. It took only 1 attempt to successfuly install this rom from my newer 32GB class 10.
THANKS to seanzscreams and everyone who contributed on this I317 project, my eyes finally saw beautiful new 4.3 on Note II. This was long overdue from Samsung side but thank goodness we have you developers to save the day...
Some things I noticed:
- overheating
- wifi didn't work (there's a fix for this on the thread but I didn't try it)
- Note 3's 'note application' crashes after about 1min when inside the app
- it's possible to enter hardware/device version inside "About" option
- looks awesome! :good:
Understandably, this rom still can't be used for daily regular use, but if there's anyone out there looking to at least get a feel of what will N7105 4.3 look like, SkyNote 4.3 might be the answer to your question.
Cheers

S5 vs Note 2 vs Note 3

Is there anything on the s5 or the note 3 that I cannot do on my note 2(rooted and on custom ROM off course) ?
I know that the infrared remote thing and the s health things dont wprk.
The camera is not THAT good but its good enough for normal use
The battery in Note2 is better than s5.(I'm not very sure though)
And off course the stylus..too useful for me
My sister is looking to buy a new phone. Note 2 is the cheapest of these.. Should we consider note 2 then ?
Hello ,
Yeah ofcourse , Note 3 and S5 are honestly very costly . If you buy a Note 2 and root it and install BlackTox Rom or DN3 Rom then it becomes an ultimate gadget . When I bought Note 2 it was the latest flagship . But as Samsung every year releases 2 flagships , Note 2 became old . Then these revolutionary ROMs were created by our respectful devs which gave a lifeline to my note 2 and I'm very satisfied with it . If your sister doesn't hesitate in buying Note 2 , then I would definitely recommend that you should go for Note 2 :thumbup:

I agree with what Aeyan said but one thing we should keep in mind Note II won't see the next big android release since Google will stop supporting it soon.Compared to Note 3 which will get 5.0 for sure. So if you do root your sister's phone and such the latest version she can be on will be 4.4.2 or 4.4.3.So Note 3 might be a better investment compared to Note II.

I agree..so arent the ports as good? I'm sorry I'm still a beginner
For eg: my old phone was an sk17i. I broke the screen on that one but on the dev page there's always a new 4.4 rom

The current ports are awesome but most of us have had our phones for around a year if not more.So most likely we'd upgrade to note 4 this fall. We've been happy with what the developers are offering but since it's a TW based ROM,samsung has to depend on supporting our phone and then samsung tweaks it to add their stuff and releases to us.If you would only want to flash AOSP rom on note II then I am sure AOSP/CM developers will support note II for atleast another year easily but with AOSP rom you lose the functionality of many Samsung features like S note and other Samsung related software.
note2 does not have gorilla glass AFAIK..
For software features, almost all note 2 can have.
aah thanks!! but I just cant decide if 43k for a note 3 is worth it..note 2 was 27k last yr when I bought it and its 28k now.. No fall in price

[Q] MIUI Note 3 neo (n7505)

Hello there.
I'm using my note 3 neo for quite some time now.
But, i'm getting a little bored by touchwiz. I saw MIUI running by one of my friends.
And I liked it right away, but sadly there's no rom available for the note 3 neo.
Is there any dev that can port this rom? Or is it 'simple' enough that I can do it by my self?
I hope one of you will answer tough,
Thanks anyway

Request: port of Bliss ROM (from Note 3) to Note 4...

I recently loaded the Bliss (Android 6.01) ROM on my Nexus 7, and it seems like a very nice ROM.
I noticed it's available on Note 3, but not on Note 4. Anyone interested in porting it from the Note 3 over to the 4?

And good luck. Official 6.0.1 for Note 4 isn't that far out. I don't see devs putting in the work when it's (official) coming soon.... But that's just my opinion.
You're exactly right. I'm not gonna waste time on leaks right now. Plus i have my hands full anyway.

Best ROM?

I just got a used Note 4 from Note 2 (running CM12). I really do not like Samsung's stock ROMs. What is a good stable ROM? Is Lineage any good? EmotionOS? Debloat version of stock? suggestions?

I've been on Emotroid 6.0.1 for the past year with very few hiccups but I started looking for a new rom tonight as well.
EmotionOS is pretty much dead. Forums reveal the OP is retired from the N4 but work pseudo continues on through the Verizon wireless build.. Sounds sketchy to me as the sprint variant is no longer supported.
Lineage appears to be the rom Emotroid is built on, that said expect fewer customization's. It's brand new, but the activity on the forum looks promising so it's won my vote and I've got it flashing now.
Lineage is developed by the same guy/team who did CM.
