Hello all.
The other day my s3 turned off and would never would turn back on... I got a replacement phone at Sprint.
The last couple of days I have tried to use my speaker when I'm cleaning or doing whatever and my apps won't play audio. The only app that works is Play Music or whatever it is called.
I use Pandora and last.fm and Rdio but they wont play sound. They work with headphones though or my aux cord in my car, YouTube doesnt even work.
Any suggestions?

A few questions. You mentioned it was a replacement Phone. Is it Rooted ? If so, what Rom are you running ? Was it a Clean Flash ?

I would say it's a defective refurbished phone they gave you. I would take it back.

If you are not rooted, and have done nothing to the device. I'm going to say edfunkycold is right. Take it back.make them exchange it.

I have no idea. I told and showed them the speaker works only when I play Play Music but doesnt work with any other app.

I've noticed when I play another movie first (making sure that it doesnt lag) for a few minutes then play Avengers afterwards, then it doesnt lag.
I'm completely stock as well and having lag, also I can't get the pop up video feature to work with this movie

I've turned sync off. Airplane mode. Cleared cache. Killed all tasks and it still lags! Crazy crazy. Because I couldn't watch it I ended up renting it on vudu. Great movie. First time ever watched it.

And its still lagging? Thats weird...well this is my set up.
I have it located at /mnt/extSDcard/movies/HD/ and i have wifi enabled. Its choppy if i have wifi disabled, but itll smooths out if i enable wifi.

I just stopped all running task, rebooted,, and now it's smooth ^_^,

I think a lot of people have been getting bad downloads. It took me 7 downloads to get the one that doesn't lag.
I downloaded from, hub but I don't know where it downloaded to. I would like to move it to my ext sd card unless it's already there. Also mine lags too wifi on.

Thats weird, mine plays just fine, downloaded it once from the hub and has played flawlessly, even if i skip to different parts of the movie. My phone is completely stock.

Media hub downloads to the internal sd and in order to see it you need to enable to view hidden folders
the folder name will be
.SamsungMediaHub
there will be a series of folders but the file will be a pyv file type.
My take on laggy video play is if it's HD or if it's SD. In my opinion the phone has a big screen but it's not big enough to distinguish between SD and HD. The phone has to struggle a little bit more to be able to play a video file that's HD and nearly 3GB (my computer even struggled with that let alone a phone)
The SD version is about 1.7 or 1.8 gb and I haven't had any lag issues on my phone while watching it.
That's all personal opinion and your entitled to shoot it down but it's all sensible

How do you enable the option to see hidden folders? Can it be done through root explorer. Also I downloaded both hd and sd but it doesn't give the option to pick which one to play so I assume it's hd playing since it's lagging.

I want to know if people are getting this app to work on their phone. Couldn't really find any threads like this. I used to use my old phone in my accord and ums made it simple to show my music on the screen. I tried using this app but it doesn't seem to work in the accord. It's stuck on usb load screen. Has anyone gotten it to work in their cars and if so what model I think it might not work on all cars because it works in my dad's bimmer

Actually it probably has more to do with what you are using it for. I use this app and have never had a problem with it. But I have never used it to connect to my car stereo or anything like that.
Have you tried another version if the app? Maybe connectibg via bluetooth would work better?

Have you looked onto any wireless solutions? I think you have to be rooted for most, but don't quote me on that. I use SwiFTP and love it. There are others on the market as well.

My car doesn't support a2dp the stock stereo is really nice and integrated with the rest of the dashboard so I don't wanna replace it with a new one. It's odd that the app works with my dad's car but not mine. I know it's at least reading it because when it was on mtp it would just say unsupported rather than usb load. Normally that load screen is only there for a second or 2 and starts playing immediately. I'll try another build of the app if not I guess aux cable it is although it's nice to have one cable for charge and music and have it display the song on the screen

Maybe try moving a file to the parent/root directory of the external sd card to see if your car can read that?

How do I do that? You mean the root folder? Isn't that for the internal sd card also I had no luck with usb debugging. The app doesn't even seem to work with it off

Honestly I've tried everything lol someone said that the mtp is still there for the internal storage so the car might be trying to read that and that's why it's not working

One more thing I just remembered! Try removing the MusicFX.apk and .odex. This helped someone else connect to a radio they were having trouble with.
Just remove from /system/app/. Then reboot thMake a backup of them first in case it doesn't help. If it does, flash dsp manager to replace it.

Just installed a new rom that already has dsp and no musicfx so I'll see if it works.btw its deodexed not odexed should I odex it there's an app for it with the rom don't really know the difference though

I wouldn't until you try as it is. If it doesn't work then try odexing but I doubt it'll have an effect.

I think the issue lies in switching data connections while streaming. I've had a number of instances where I'll be streaming music via LTE and once I leave the city and enter the surrounding areas, my phone will switch to 3G and my music will often stop.
This happens to me even while on wifi. I get no problems with my Nexus 4 or OG Evo.

Those of you who it worked for: did you clear caches or do anything special after flashing? I'm still getting the same "Bluetooth turning off..." message in the bt settings page, and I'm unable to turn it back on without a reboot.

i cleared Cache And dalvik Because i was updating CM10.1 and it worked perfectly for me.
I don't know what I'm doing wrong...I guess I could never turn off bt...if I do then I turn it on then it tries to turn on then off and then I have to reboot...tried everything...if I don't turn it off then I'm fine.....

On AoKP 4.2.2 I can connect to my MOGA controller with no hitch.. However it usually fails when I connect to the uvo system in my car.. But connects fine after a reboot..

I can connect and play just fine but the quality is crap... wonder if this will fix that?
If you installed this patch delete all your devices and then turn bt on and off and see if it works...if it does cause that finally worked for me then add your devices one by one to see which one is compatible or not

I don't know if this will help, but I couldn't get BT to turn on, so I did some looking around and found a post that said to delete Pandora. So I deleted Pandora and rebooted, BT's been working for 2 days now no problems

Fell asleep when I got home.. Just woke up to a under 30% battery.. Even though I wasn't connected to BT the symbols was lit up like I was.. Turned it off and on and it went dormant (silver color).. But check this out...

Many thanks! I flashed this to CM 10.1 RC5a - had been having BT issues with it crashing or not being able to start for months.
Before flashing, I cleared Dalvik/Cache, flashed, fix permissions - after reboot, started BT and deleted all devices.
36 hours on it, no problems with car BT audio, no crashes.
Does a2dp work for anyone on cm10.1?

I fixed my blue roof problem by just going up there and painting the entire sucker red. Boom! Problem solved and haven't had an issue since. Sorry @PJcastaldo just had to do it. Couldn't help myself. :silly:
Did you ever get this sorted out? Have a friend with the same issue.

Have you uninstalled and reinstalled the App? Cleared app data? Multiple things you can do.

Seems like a Facebook issue.... They've been pushing updates thru network and not the store.... Which is against TOS, so it could most likely be on the apps end.
