Am I the only one that's noticed that all the cradles for the HTC One are the same picture, but different brand names? Try it yourself.. search Amazon for 'HTC One m7 cradle" and the first page has:
Tmvel TMV-H1 Docking Cradle
Pautuox Charging Cradle
VicTsing Desktop Docking Station Cradle
Kingmys Desktop Sync Cradle
It goes on & on. There are 2-3 different cradles, but the others are all the same on every site I've checked.
The phone is a work of art, and it makes me weep to think of plugging it in to an ugly Soviet-era blob of black plastic.
Am I alone here?
Those "manufacturers" just buy from the same OEM supplier in China or wherever.
Then they rebrand and resell the merchandise.
Happens a lot.
Its this way for all kinds of things. Including HTC One cases as well

so while I was on holiday my XDA2 and one of the seats on "Rockin' Rollercoaster" had a slight disagreement and the XDA got it's face kicked in, but one travel insurance claim later and an o2 XDAIIs is on it's way to me this week.
I bought a spare battery for the XDA2. Although the batteries shipped with the XDA2s are obviously higher capacity, will the older ones work - be useful to have a couple of spare batteries.
Also do the XDA2 and 2s cradles interchangable?
Thanks guys
Ant
Cradles are not. Tried an XDAII cradle with my IIs and it's too thick
Oh No
I've just ordered a carcomm cradle for my 11s was a bit of a gamble guess isn't gonna pay off then, Does anyone make a cradle yet.
maybe i should have specified - USB desk cradle not car cradle. Don't know if that makes a difference tho
I tried USB cradle
www.expansys.com sell USB cradles but have no stock until end of Jan
when you say cacomm are you talking about the in-car cradel?
If you are then as there is no cradel for the XDA2s we use the XDA2 cradel and remove the slight gides on the side of the cradel, Then to put the phone in the cradel. Slide down the keypad lower the phone in and then close the phone slightley to hold it in.
We have done loads of these, i will get some pictures if this is what you was asking about

I'm looking for a bag to use with my HTC TyTN II and associated paraphernalia. I already use the supplied HTC carry case for the device itself and often clip it onto my belt but what I really want is a bag to carry all the other things I have that go with it such as travel charger (c/w 4 interchangeable country specific adapter plug heads), spare batteries, 3-in-1 USB adapter and of course headphones.
If it's good enough for there to be bags designed for laptops then why not pocket PCs as well? I was thinking something like a camera case may do the trick but so far I haven't found any with the right compartment sizes. The bag for the HTC Shift thats referred to elsewhere on xda-dev is the wrong size for what I need.
Can anyone suggest something suitable or even a brand to start looking with? HTC are really missing opportunities by not offering such 'value added' branded accessories to their range.
***EDIT 22/9/08 Something Suitable found***
I went out shopping yesterday and came across the Case Logic QGPS-1 Quickdraw SatNav case for £9.69 at Staples. I tried it out with all my paraphernalia in the shop and it fits everything in very well so I bought it. It's not listed on the Case Logic Website but Googling for it brings up further details.
Given that whenever i am travelling i tend to have a small army of electronic bits and bobs then a small camera bag serves well enough.
For a charger i have invested in a mains plug that has a USB port in the top so that all i need to carry is one plug and an assortment of charging cables given that everything can be charged from a USB port. Saves me carrying two or more of the "fat plug" devices and their cables that never stay tidy when packed.
travel every day
I travel every day and I take a PC conection cable in my computer bag and a set of earphones in my "man-bag", and that's it. It's no problem. I charge from my laptop.

Handy if you also have a laptop - I do not. At the moment I just throw everything into my backpack or satchel bag as neatly as possible but the leads always come out tangled and things do move about in there quite a bit. One of my spare batteries has a dent from making contact with the pins on my charger so I really want something suitably compartmentalised which offers an element of protection.
What camera bag do you use deedee - any particular make and model?
Found!
I found something suitable so edited my original post accordingly. Thanks for the feedback those who replied.
I have posted this in other forums, but trying to get a general feel for the public acceptance on this:
I have an extended / travel battery idea.
Imagine this:
A small box about the footprint of our Evo. This box holds 2 of the regular batteries (think side by side flat). It has a normal USB Port on it and a micro USB Port. And maybe a few indicator LEDs. We can then hook this small box to a USB Charger, a Laptop, etc to charge the batteries inside.
Then when our Evo needs more juice, we have one of two options. Either pull out one of the batteries from this small box, or plug via USB cable into this box to charge the battery in our phone from the two batteries on board.
Because we are using stock batteries, the idea would to be make this box available, with and without batteries. Also it would need to work just with one battery installed. That way, people can spend as little or as much as they wanted.
Does anyone know of something like this? Is this something people would be interested in buying if could be purchased cheap enough... Maybe this is something when can petition Seidio to make?

Thare a lots of things just like that with the exception of them using the HTC battery. Many are smaller than the evo and just have thier own Li-ion batteries in them and recharge via AC or USB. I have one made by energizer.
EDIT: http://www.energizerpowerpacks.com/us/
I know there are other options out there as far as being able to charge the phone from a remote battery. The key to my idea is, there have been a few occasions, where being tethered to a remote batter pack just isnt feasible.
With this option, would have the ability to pop out one of the fully charged HTC batteries and replace it in your phone and go on your way. But for things like long plane trips, etc, being tethered back to the battery pack is a great option, without wearing down your in phone battery.
I would think a company like Seidio would offer this for several different phones. The nice thing about the Evo, is its starting to use a standardized battery from HTC, as we see it in more devices.
I like the idea, but I don't think its something that would sell enough to be profitable to produce. Although, I think it would be a fun little project to tackle, I may steel ur idea and try to build a crude one for myself.
Right now, I just have a cheap remote battery charger in my pack, and a couple HTC batteries that are charged. If I can't get to an outlet, I'll swap batteries.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
producing the plastic box really is not that big of deal. Simple mold making stuff can be gotten from a place like Hobby Lobby. My concern is the electronics, i.e. making sure if dual batteries are installed, they do not drain to each other.
I would think with as many devices take this battery, it would be worth making. Right now, we have the following devices:
HTC Evo 4G (SPRINT)
HTC TOUCH PRO2 (Tilt 2)
HTC HERO
HTC DROID INCREDIBLE (VERIZON)
HTC Imagio
HTC Ozone
HTC Snap
And it appears the new HTC Slider that is coming to Verizon will use this battery as well, but thats not confirmed.
So, we 7 devices that are active on a many number of carriers. Thats alot of phones out there, that are potential customers.
Buy a couple of the AC Chargers for the battery casings a contacts ($10 maybe?). Use the Trickle charge circuit (making the voltage appear 3.8-4V) and install a mini usb port. Use a Plastic Hammond case or better still a 2.5" HDD case (cheap and will already have the miniUSB mounted).
Less than $20 before you calculate batteries.... and I hope you have a proper soldering station with a dremel and epoxy.
The idea of this thread is not to home brew this product, but to get enough feedback to see if its a plausible idea to take to one of our trusted manufacturers.
I do love small projects and do have some circuit design experience, soldering Station, etc... But anymore my time is better spent else where.
I suppose that the Atrix, like other Android phones, switches to a special mode with looks like an alarm clock when put on a cradle. Is that correct ? If so, will this work only on the original Motorola cradle or also on the aftermarket ones ? I've seen some on Ebay for about $ 20, while the Motorola one costs at least double the price.
Has anyone already bought any of these cradles and can comment on the usage / quality ? Here's an example on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/Motorola-ATRIX-4G-MB860-Dock-Cradle-Charger-Battery-/200592993188?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item2eb4462ba4
Well, if you look closely the ATRIX in the mock dock does not display the desktop dock clock- so there's a partial answer for you. I suspect that the cradle offers a single micro usb connectiom to the phone opposed to the dual connections in the Moto docks.
looks like just a generic cradle for any phones with micro usb on the side. i doubt it will bring up the stock dock app...they would of probably written that in the ad if it did. you can always email the seller to ask.
I am perhaps mis-readng this

My "non-multi-media" Motorola dock, the one typically used as a charger-alarm clock - only has a single micro-USB connection to the side-mounted phone. Not two connectors.

Hi All,
My flap is becoming loose, so i have decided to go for a charging dock, however Sony doesn't sell it at their webstore anymore, so I was wondering if there is any way to distinguish between a fake and a genuine Sony DK48 dock?
I found 2 links online and there is a price difference between both:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Genuine-ori...-Black-for-Xperia-Z3-Z3-Compact-/281809277276
http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1100332-REG/sony_1289_6299_dk48_magnetic_charging_dock.html
Is there a way to find out if the eBay one is genuine?
Also, Do i go for one of those budget magnetic cables? I don't want to burn my phone due to unstable charging just to save a few bucks.
Regards,
CD
Both of them seem to be genuine. It's just a matter of price, one will sell the same thing for more... just to earn more
I think you shouldn't get any magnetic cables at all. Magnetic port is built inside the dock, you only have to plug the microusb cable to the dock, it's a sure connection. I also plan to buy one of these, my Xperia is pretty new (manufactured on 15W32) but that flap thing is starting to piss me off, I BARELY plug my phone to the computer and also I never use it while charging so why should I ever bother with opening that damn flap?
Buy a new flap on eBay, easy to pull out and push new one in. I bought docks from aliexpress, work great with a blackberry playbook charger from Amazon
