Some questions before I unlock the Bootloader on my play

After my update from .42 to .69 I lost root access.
Now 3 weeks later I can't work without root. So I decided to unlock the Bootloader on my R800i.
How I get then the root access? Is it already there when I unlock the BL?
Or is there anything to do then, to get root.
How can I update to ICS?
With SEUS or normaly with the phone? And is the BL then even unlocked and will I have root access?
And is there a german manual how to unlock the BL?
To unlock the bootloader go here.
For root the only way I know for firmware .62 and up is by flashing a pre-rooted kernel like Doomkernel.

To update to ICS you have to flash a ICS Kernel/ROM. I suggest you either CyanogenMod 9 or Sony Official Beta. To flash CyanogenMod download the package from the official thread, flash the boot.img with <<fastboot flash boot boot.img>> then enter in recovery and flash the .zip package that has to be on your SD card.
To flash Sony Beta follow instructions in the topic but instead of the original boot.img flash DoomLord Advanced Kernel to gain root access.

After unlooking bootloader, how to root?

hey folks,
I will tomorrow unlock my bootloader on my R800i, and I have a few questions before I do it.
- How to Root then? I will not flash a new kernel, I only want root, because the update to ICS is only on June 2012.
- How to flash? I read always don't flash via CWM only Flash via Recovery?
- Can I flash then a original ICS Update from Sony, because I can't use then the OTA-Update to ICS from Sony or can I lock the BL again, and then update OTA?
once u unlock your bootloader, u cant get ics ipdate.. u need to relock back using .ftf file with flashtool.. go n search.. im wondering what the point u unlock your bootloader without install custom rom or kernel
u can use superoneclick to root your phone.. i hope this help u
No I can't because I have .69 and this is unrootable.
Then u need a custom kernel mate... they are pre-rooted

then.. you need to flash custom rom that support autoroot

Install custom kernel

Is there a way to install a custom kernel or recovery on Acro S rooted with locked bootloader or do we need root + unlocked bootloader?

Custom kernel no you need unlocked bootloader for that. As for recovery have you tried the CWM for locked bootloaders?

Unlocking boot loader and root

Sorry I am still a little confused. I want to install a custom rom. There is lots of rooting info but not much unlocking bootloader. Do I need to unlock bootloader to root? Do I need an unlocked boot loader to flash custom ROMs? Or do I need just root. Do i need to pull the sim card for rooting or unlocking?
I have a n7 that is rooted and unlocked easily. The sg3 is 3x$ so I am more cautious.
Did lots of searching and still unclear as to what is needed.
Thanks.
Edit: I have the i747m phone.

The bootloader isn't locked on this device so you just need to root and install a custom recovery

FlashFire and locked bootloader

Has anyone attempted to flash ROMs on locked bootloader using FlashFire? Any success with it?
