im user Xperia Acro S and everyday i look around Acro S Android Development. .some of develepor not very serious about custom rom/custom kernel. .why ? Acro S too expensive to buy? or acro s been marginalized ? true story happened to the family acro s is some developers do NOT have that phone that develop for Acro S. .
Yes, very sad... and why???
Sent from my LT26w using xda premium
Both Ion and Acro S are the left over devices, if I can say like that, while S is the "main" one. Same applies for T being over V and TX/TL, and Z being over ZL.
from my research , just one problem with every custom rom is cant detect sdcard. .maybe thats why our acro s left behind. .
slow maybe but @deedwar is making improvements on his SlimBean and PACman roms

Most custom roms don't detect sdcard because there hacks of Xperia S and that is the one feature it doesn't have but if you know how you can modify the framework.apk it takes about 2 mins and add the required file make a small change to 3 other files in the ROMs zip file and your set. Feel free to do it. I will even do a guide on my PAC page if you want.

Hi, I have put together a set of files and scripts to help you build your own miui rom for Acro S. You need to use Miui Rom for Xperia S (LT26i) as a base. I have tested using the version from MiuiAndroid. It should work for other versions with different language.
It is based on erenz1202's excellent script here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1294451
Basically it'll take you 30s to prepare the files and about 5 min to build a rom
It is for Windows and you need to have java sdk installed
[Link] - do not mirror
http://www.mediafire.com/?0zbycmactufavrb
md5sum: 6c5c0a0f743d6427e164b6174eb56bb2
[Credits]
1. erenz1202 - for the original script
2. All the Miui Rom developers
3. Soheil - for the original SDMounter
[Instructions]
1. unzip the file Acros_Miui_Builder.zip to any folder, let's use d:\template as example
2. edit d:\template\temp\build.prop to contain the correct version number
3. copy original rom's system folders to d:\template\source - it should have sub-folders like app, bin, etc ...
4. open command prompt, cd to d:\template (the root folder of this script)
5. type: build
6. relax and wait 5 min. Then copy d:\template\my_rom.zip to sdcard
7. boot into cwm and backup your current rom
8. do a factory reset and install my_rom.zip
9. enjoy
This is wonderful, hope there have another script or tools can convert Xperia S's ROM to ACRO S.

At first I intend it to be general but when I tried it on Eratcher's rom - it caused bootloop unless I put back original rom's framework-res.apk. No time to figure out the reason yet
Other than that everything, eg screen rotation ..., works
Extenal SD card can be used now?
@cobrato
thanks this is just great. I'm not a developer more an advanced user but this is simple, strait forward and it works!
Thanks
Hey cobrato! Any way to adapt this method to work with the Xperia Ion?
Thanks for the great work cobrato.
I have not used it yet but can I assume you need an unlocked bootloader to install one of these ROMs ?

You don't need unlocked bootloader but you need to have rooted rom with cwm installed.

this is awesome script i have already compile miui from xpria s to acro and now i test to compile again but from xiaomi phone hope this success..

i have unlock bootloader and rooted my xperia s , anbd i install a lot of roms and i change between kernels a lot which means i have a lot of different versions of CWM , i found a folder in sdcard /clockworkmod called blobs , the folder contained about 2 gb and about 4650 files , are they important , can i delete them ? i can't ask the devs of cwm because they don't have it officially supported by sony xperia s , so please answer my question

found this with a qhick google:
The blobs folder contains portions of your CWM backups.
When you make a new backup, CWM checks the blobs folder to see what has changed between backups, since it's likely that a lot has remained the same.
This can actually save a lot of space, and make backups happen faster.

I asume you also have an Xperia S, you can unlock its bootloader by going to: unlockbootloader.sonymobile.c om./instructions (without the space between c and om )
Because I have a Xperia S myself, the only MOD I have experience with is CyanogenMod. It is a very good one in my eye's here is a link on how to download and install it on your Xperia: /androidlegend.c om/xperia-s-update-to-android-4-1-jelly-bean-with-cyanogenmod-10 (without the space between c and om )
P.S. You MUST unlock your Xperia's bootloader before doing anything else with it..... If you don't understand how to do all this stuff, PLEASE do not start with this.

Hello xda members,
as you all know, the navigation buttons (home, back.settings) in Xperia s are kinda frustrating, you don't really see them and have to guess where to press.
I have official 4.0.4 "sony ROM" on my device, few questions:
1) what is the easiest way to make the navigation buttons visible? (I don't want to change my ROM, I like the official one..)
2) is there official JB ROM for this device?
AW: [Q] Just bought new Xperia S. need help with customizing
1. I think theres a code line you have to add to build prop Just search the forum for it.
2. No but its getting updated to Jb in April We're all waiting anxiously

Can I root my Xperia S (Stock ICS 4.0.4) without reverting it back to GB? Most of the threads I've seen here require the phone to be running on Gb. Build number of my phone is 6.1.A.2.55
don't have the phone next to me right now, I'll check it later
I'm familiar with the root process, after I root it, whta should I do to enable the navigation bar?

Download the OSB enabler or install a custom ROM with it (such as XZX), which has it built in and some add ons to make them smaller.

Just download the script provided in the link, run it with the phone connected. Probably the only known way of gaining root access on 2.55 right now.
For the on-screen buttons you can add
qemu.hw.mainkeys=0
to build.prop and reboot.

…just in case you want to use custom-rom: with PAC you get various options to customize and the "on-screen-buttons" are enabled as default - i dont use them, because i m used to the "hardware" nav-buttons.
But i remember, when using stock-rom i had little problems too using them …
DO NOT root your phone or install Custom Rom, just try to get used to it.
You'll be fine after a while, believe me

This is a port of PAC 4.2.2 v22.1 from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2177236
For further information you should go to that thread and see what the ROM is capable of.
All i have done is change the KERNEL with BPauls kernel from his CM10.1 Rom from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2262795
and also changed the build.prop and updater-script so that it would install on the Xperia Acro S.
All bugs present in the original ROM will most likely also be present now.
Credits go to funky0308, Shingers5 and Vertigo for the ROM and Bpaul for the kernel.

Latest Relase (14/05/13) ****Small issue with mounting the normal storage wait till i fix that before installing this version if you downloaded it, if you have already go back to recovery and install my previous version then i will fix and you can install the new one.
Fixed External SD card not mounting
Fixed Rotation Issue
Initial Release (13/05/13)
Download the ROM from Download mirror
GAPPS from http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-jb-20130301-signed.zip
Install Instructions are:
1. Unlock bootloader.
2. Extract and Flash boot.img from hikari_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.1.1_Themed-v2.zip (fastboot flash boot boot.img)

Known Bugs
none as of 14/05/13
1)Hi The rotation is wrong, when you turn right the phone turng left and when you put head up the phone head off
2)Dont install the External SD Card (microsd)
You use the ACRO S kernel or S Kernel ?? this is very important

I used the Acro S kernel from BPaul so it should work i will take a look at it tonight might just be a lib file i missed.
When i was using root explorer it did say SDCARD0 and 1 so it might have something to do with that so i will see if the microSD card is being mounted properly, been meaning to buy one so will grab one and test.
Also i will look into the proximity sensor probably the same issue with rotation too.
OK my friend, surely any file is missed about Rotation and SDCARD01 (microsd)
Thanks a lot...and your ROM is GUAUUUUU only thats two bug

Did you wipe data, and cache and Dalvik cache because mine is very smooth, i use 3D launcher and camera loads alot quicker then stock. I dont want to change it much from the one im porting from. However if i do get around to building everything from source i will be sure to limit what is installed by default.
Have a question, If I come from BPaul ROM 4.2.2 if necesary Flash boot.img from hikari_PAC_JB_4.2.2-v22.1.1_Themed-v2.zip ?? or Can used the boot.img from BPAUL ??

You could always message vertigo as he's the official PAC man and tell him what you've done and ask if you can post it in development. As long as it credits the correct people (which u already have) i wouldn't have thought that would be a problem?

Hi guys,
I know this is kinda weird to ask, but i want to make sure that im ready to flash rather than give it a go and bricked my phone for the 2nd time.

2. I have this kernel - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1761778

Do i need to follow below instruction, cause im using Sony Xperia SL.
ICS 4.0.4, with 6.1.A.2.55
HTML:
Any ROM for S will Work for SL BUT you lose 1.7GH Speed
ROMs for S Can be installed for SL Via Two Ways
Way 1. In ROM zip file Goto HERE: META INF / com / google / android (use 7-zip which can edit without extraction)
Now edit updater-script by deleting first 2 lines (if it has any)
Anything to do with device name and get.prop.*
then close zip file and flash
Way 2. Root your phone
install app which can edit build.prop
change All LT26ii to LT26i
Change Xperia SL to nozomi
Save, Reboot to recovery and follow ROM flashing instruction......
