Hey guys, i read through a couple of threads about cacked screens but im still a little confused. i droped my phone and the bottom half of the screen cracked, i can still use the phone without any problems. so do i need a digitizer or new lcd??
digitizer is the glass part that you touch, lcd is the screen itself. If you can see a full picture, then the lcd is fine.

My friend found one off amazon for like $13-15 I can't remember. I looked it up too and it was about the same. He didn't have any issues replacing the glass either. If you have the insurance you might try a sprint store, or a authorized sprint store. I bought a Epic fro ma coworker and it had a cracked screen, took it to the repair place and they did it for free. (after making the phone my wifes main phone)
Hi, guys! Last week i've broke my screen digitizer. On internet i can find only digitizer+display for about 180€. I've a question for you:
Can i find only digitizer for my Galaxy Nexus i9250?
Thanks for helps!
The glass and digitizer are one piece, they can't be separated.
I'm actually getting mine replaced tonight. A guy in my city is charging $180 CAN installed. He says he is using OEM parts (that I can see before install) and that it will take about 20 minutes.
We'll see how that works out...
As far as I know the screen and digitizer are one piece.
Sorry but it looks like you may have to pay the 180.
Thanks for the reply! Do you know any site after you can buy a cheap LCD + digitizer? Support Samsung, € 195 asked me: '(
Hello all,
A few hours back i cracked my note 2's screen as i fell from the stairs.
Can someone tell me the exact price in INR for its replacement? The touch works fine. Thanks :'(
I need to get it done tomorrow.
From what ive researched and I havent done alot... its about £130 for the glass + digitzer...
You cant just replace the glass as the digitzer is glued to the screen.
My advice... claim insurance if you have it covered

Well, I got mine replaced at a Samsung Service Center in Bangalore, India a fortnight ago. Samsung charged me 6,850 INR (around 115 USD) for it. One thing to remember is that they replace the glass and the digitizer as well.
Call up a service center nearest to you, and check with them if they have the digitizer+glass with them. I was lucky as the one they used on my phone was the last one in their inventory, and they fixed it in 2 hours. If they don't, it takes a day or two for them to get the screen (digitizer and the glass) from Samsung.
I had cracked my old HTC Incredible S's screen too. But Note II's screen seems a lot more fragile than the HTC's, and I never bothered about fixing it myself: it is a difficult thing to get these parts in India, and to get genuine parts in good condtion (the courier/shipping folks are very adept at breaking even an mp3 player's screen!) is almost next to impossible.
Good luck!

Glad you did from Service center ,
It Cos-ted 6,400 for replacing the Glass and Digitizer where in the service center don't have the option to replace only glass they denied to change only glass as only glass was cracked but functionality was perfect so had to change both from BANGALORE SERVICE CENTER.

The service center folks get the complete set (digitizer and the glass) from Samsung when they place an order for a screen. I guess it is Samsung's way of getting a little extra from its customers. And it was the same with HTC as well.
Can anyone recommend a screen/digitizer replacement? I dropped mine last and the screen broke not too bad though. Everyone I talked to said you have to replace both of them..im not sure how true that is but anyway...im just looking for a replacement from a repbuital dealer...thanks in advance
So last night i dropped my tablet and the screen had cracks all over it, well i watched a bunch of tear down, and screen repair videos on youtube, then tried to take it apart to fix it myself. But when i tried to remove the silver motherboard ribbon cable, the white connector broke off of the motherboard. :crying: :crying:
Note that warranty expired several months ago.
What should i do? is $50 replacement motherboard and $50 screen assembly worth it?

I would say no, as a 32 gb refurbished full unit can be found on amazon for 140-160. They start at 100 for the 16 gb version.
Buy a refurb instead of repairing that one, then sell the old one for parts on ebay or something.
