T-Mobile SGS2 (ANY TW ROM) TRANSPARENT ACCUWEATHER WIDGET (smoked glass)

*** IN NO WAY DO I TAKE CREDIT FOR THIS WIDGET!!! TO MY KNOWLEDGE IT WAS CREATED IN THE I9100 FORUM SOMEWHERE AND HAS BEEN USED ALL OVER THE PLACE. WHOEVER DID CREATE IT IS MUCH SMARTER THAN ME.***
MAKE A BACKUP! CWM AND THE WIDGET! I TAKE NO RESPONSIBILITY IF YOU MESS YOUR DEVICE UP!!!
Now, this is the accuweather widget but with a smoked transparent background. IV been using it for months on every different version of the sgs2. All you need to do is remove the widget from your home screen, with root explorer or es file explorer (free, what I use) go into system, app, and copy the original somewhere on your external SD for a backup. Go back into system, apps, and delete the file you just made a copy of, paste the new file in its place, enjoy. I take no responsibility if you mess up your device, make a nandroid backup in cwm before doing ANY mods to your device.

This looks great! Is there anyway you can make it so that when tapping the widget it opens the Clock/Alarm app? That's the only thing keeping me from using this widget.

I've been using memo for days now works just fine , touchwiz launcher not possible to use . I don't no about rest of that stuff cause I don't use it ,and if he got launcher working I'd love to no how ? . OP forgot to mention permissions need be changed to even have a chance of anything working ...

You dont have to reboot. Did you add all apps or just a few. List the apps that dont work and i will try and fix them or take them off. Thx

Yes just CM10. had launcher working but now it stopped.

YW, i dont at the moment sorry.

The widgets don't seem to be working. SVoice SMemo etc are great but the digital clock and AccuWeather aren't showing up when I try to add widgets.

How did you get svoice to work? I tried just installing the apk and it's a no-go and moved it to system/app and still nothing.
Edit: After changing permissions and rebooting it loads up. But when I ask it a question it listens then force closes.

S-voice doesn't work for me

No, just have the Sony Music app.

Transparent News and Weater for JB, LIB

I found these on the note area .... I am not the developper
I tested on latest JB Turkbay 12 LIB and they work perfectly. I do not see any reason why they should not work on any LIB ROM
You need to copy the APK app on system/app as usual and reboot DO NOT INSTALL as application.
These apps will NOT replace any default S3 app.
ALL WIDGETS ARE TRANSPARENT
1) Genie News and weater widgets (3 types, news, weather, news+weather) all 4x1 geniewidget.apk
2) Weather old style (no clock) widget RESIZABLE !!!!! 4x2, 2x2, 1x1 AccuWeatherDaemonService.apk + SamsungWidget_WeatherClock.apk compressed in the file Weather.zip

1) The widgets should work on any ROM... but you will know only trying. The good point is that because these widgets do non overwrite anything you can put it on your system/app folder, try and see if you like (remember to reboot ), if you do not like you can just remove them and that is it ..... no danger
2) I do not know what you removed. The weather widget are the old version of weater widget not including the time
They need the weatherdeamon.apk (in system/app) to be updated but can be installed at the same time with the new version (that has the time)

You do NOT need to flash anithing
just unzip the .zip file and place the all the files with extension
apk
in the folder
system/app
and reboot ....

Honestly I have never seen that window ....
I do not know what to say and how to help you ...... the files are clean and simple

functional point of view the stock Accuweather is the best in my opinion, i was moved to make myself couple of
mods which i would like to share with you and anybody who may like them.
1. Stock S4 Widget look
2. Light transparent S4 look with colours and weather features present
3. Very transparent S4 look without colours but weather features present
4. Totally tranparent, little styled and Yahoo Weathericons.
5. Totally tranparent, little styled and Daniel Chitu's Icons
These work on the Stock 4.3 Roms (odex/deodex);
-make a backup
-copy them into your app folder
-change permissions to rw-r--r--
-reboot

how do i install this? please give me the exact steps... as basic as you can please! im in an odexed firmware... and another question , is this really like the ported widget one? (wit the the weather animations..etc)

I usually copy the apk file in system folder, rename, change permissions and then move the file in the app folder....than it works even without reboot, all needed is root and rootexplorer.
The look is as on the pics, the animation is the s3 one.

attached a flashable zip including the Widget 1. S4_orig (odex), if you wish to flash any
other file simply open the flashsable zip file with Winrar or 7zip, pull in the new AccuweatherWidget.apk
and replace the old one. But dont extract, just drag and drop in the new file into Winrar in
the system/app folder

Im talking about the animation in the widget, the settings..etc, There are some Ports with launchers, but i dont like the lanchers, so.. is it possible to just mod the weather widget files and make it like the galaxy note 3 port, or the s4 weather and launcher port? im in odex stock 4.3 jb firmware. It would so nice a flashable zip with that complete mod.

Hej, thats exactly the point. I reverted to moding the s3 widget for myself because i did not like the ported launchers, which FC too often,
and are not optimal for the S3 in my opinion. I can't mod in the animation inside the s3 widget or alteast it apears like it would be easier start the whole thing from scratch. Maybe somebody figures out in some time how to make the ported versions work with the s3 launcher, but i dont
know whats needed to do it at present, neither do i have the time. sorry.

hey can you make on odex a stock s4 widget but in TOTALLY TRANSPARENT? only a white border of widget the rest is totally transparent?

It's possible make an AccuweatherWidget for odex rom with animation like a S4, totally transparent, like third thumb, with 13:56 hours, with clouds!!
