[Q] how to changing roms and keeping root - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

how do i change roms and keep my root. like changing from macks rom to goodness rom

You shouldn't lose root every time.....if youve got recovery you should be fine. Unless youre purposely losing root then you should always have root. You can check by getting a root checker app from the play store.

Titanium? After 2.3.4 Update.

I'm trying to erase Bruce Lee, Crash Band, and Star batallion. Every time I try to un-install these apps it says can't find apk files. I was able to remove all the bloat and the other three games that came came pre-installed. I really need more MB on my play. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Hi!
You will find them: /System/app
I used Root Uninstaller Pro!
PLAY-ről Tapatalk 2-vel!
I used a root explorer app and manually deleted the apks. Worked without problems for me.

Cool was able to get rid of them. Thanks!

Yeah if You use Root Explorer and Delete it from sys/app it won't come back even if you factory reset your phone, did this and also used this method to remove excessive audio files...

[Q] Rooting sgh-t989 after ics update

can i root my sgh-t989 after i update to ics. will i still be able to use ics and just have the capabality to remove bloat and all root fucntions?
if you are a developer you probably can, but if aren't you have to wait for somebody to release rooted version of this rom
Since it isnt actually out yet, we dont know what will work to root with any certainty. You just have to wait.
thanks
I just got this update. Without realizing I updated it. Now i want root :/

You can root the new ICS ROM
It is rooted via the same old method used to root the original stock rom. you can get all the files either here on this site or from galaxys2root.com. the root site has a youtube video if you need a step-by-step hand holding.

[Q] Samsung-update through Odin?

Finally JB!
I'm on stock LH9 with root and CWM installed. Would it be safe to apply the update from Samsung-updates through Odin?
Safe meaning not losing info, texts, etc.?
Could care less about losing root.

I know you said you didn't care, but you can keep root by flashing this in Odin. I didn't lose any data.

I posted this in another thread, but thought you might find this helpful:
First of all, I appreciate all the Devs hard work bringing these Roms to us! :good:
I was running rooted UCALH9. Updated to this JB via Odin and all SEEMED good. Problems I had:
1) Play Store FC's - FIX - I went into Application Manager and removed updates for the Play Store app, which reverted it back to the default Play Store app. This fixed my problem. MAKE SURE YOU DO NOT UNINSTALL!
2) Rom Manager - I would get root user authentication error when trying to Fix Permissions. Everything else in Rom Manager worked. No fix at this time.
3) Gallery - None of my pictures were showing up. This is even after clearing caches. I am convinced it's because I can't Fix Permissions, but what do I know... No fix at this time.
Any help would be appreciated!

Rooting 4.1.2

So I installed a clean version of 4.1.1 and let it upgrade to 4.1.2. Is there anyway that I can get root on this without reflashing a complete ROM??? I was looking in the development section, and it looks like the only way to get root is to flash a complete image over this one (which I assume would wipe my data that I just finished putting back on).
I read a few threads saying that the Exploit previously used with no problem now breaks the camera. Any suggestions?
the exploit dosnt break the camera the fix does. use exynosabuse app to root

Did You try Toolkit from MSKIP?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I317 using xda premium
Exploit didnt break camera for me. I think its patching the exploit that breaks camera. Cf-auto root should also work I would think.
Edit: lol next time ill refresh before I reply

lol you guys were right about using the exploit to root. Thanks!

Lost Root After Flashing 10.1?

Sup fellas...
I bought my s3 yesterday which was already rooted on 4.1.1 (Too my surprise:good
The first ROM that i flashed was EUROSKANK. After getting tired of that rom, I flashed ReVolt.
This is when i lost root. = /
Right now I'm Restoring my nandroid to see if this restores root.
Any clarification of why I lost root after flashing a couple of ROM's?
Did you lose root completely or just the SU app?
I've flashed a couple time, and I lose the SU app for some reason. If that's the case then just re download from market.

For some ROM's it's root, for others it's just the app. In either case, hopefully we find a fix.

I'm pretty sure there is a flashable zip floating around just for this. I'll link once I find it.
Edit:
This seems to be it
