Calling all dev's with kernel knowledge! In preparation for the release of Android 5.0, I updated the stock CM kernel for d2 to 3.10 using the patches available on kernel.org. However, I am inexperienced with kernels in general and thus, I am looking for some assistance with the update process as a whole. I think as soon as build at https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/orig-development/rom-lineageos-14-1-t3569225 is stable, the developers will ask for acceptance of build at LineageOS official roster.
So apparently you dont have to request for the source code, you can just download it it from the consumer.huawei.com site. With this being available I really hope it will bring about some custom roms or even some custom EMUI 4.0 interface. Open Source Code
Also, something I didnt realize but Huawei has a very deeply supported dev center. From creating application to themes. Many countries have became apart of the their program. The only one I didnt see was the US. Huawei Developer Page

There is also the kernel source code of the honor 8c you can find it on Huawei open source website but it is based on Android Oreo.
Source code of similar devices might help but having the device's specific source code will make things way easier.
Devs will have to look through all the differences between the two devices.

Actually, even we have published official kernel source code, we don't have kernel developers for T970 device because ,simply ,expensive tablets are not their domain.
Therefore, I feel now having an Ipad powered by android !
