Possible to access local contact?

I have a case with a Desire which is stuck at a bootloop, and before trying to reflash, I would like to know if there is any way to access the local contacts which unfortunately hasn't been backed up or synced
Why not just try to get it working again???
It's only a bootloop - can you access bootloader or recovery??
Bootloader info please - are you s - off?
If you are rooted, you can adb pull /data/data/com.android.providers.contacts/databases/contacts2.db
You should be able to open this in SQLite
The view you want to look at is view_v1_Phones (view).
best bet would be to pull the whole com.android.providers.contacts folder and fix your phone. If you have to wipe, you can push this back.
Thanks for your reply guys
To start with, I'll let you know that it's not my own HTC desire, It's a friend of mine, and he just tells me that it's stuck in somekind of a bootloop, and his first question was how to save/backup local contacts before trying anything else (reflash or something else which includes wiping the device)

Nothing I can think of that can be done then, sorry,
Hope your friend will use Google Sync in the future....
Why people still don't do backup!?

firstly did you backup your previous rom once you rooted? if not for future reference make sure you do backups my friend. go into settings-battery and untick fastboot. then come out and reboot and see if that works.
other option you can try is clear the cache and data of the apps that cause you problem. settings-apps click on the app that you want to clear cache and data and then force close and reboot.
not sure about flashing official stock roms on the HTC. i just made sure i had my stock rom that came with the phone all backed up. but check into the development section and there are guides that would help you with that if that is the last cause of action mate

[Q] turns to silent automatically

hi i have an htc one x obviously
it goes to silent mode on every rom i used viperx cm10 arhd insetcoin etc...
i guess its from an app because i had it recently about a week ago ?
and am on stock kernal i guess because i haven't changed it but am gonna after fixing this issue so any tips this is driving me crazy plz help
Do you use Tasker?
Could be a profile you set.
Also try to remove any recent apps you have added, do this one by one until you see the problem disappear and you will have found your culprit.
Or you could try:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.silent_time_android
And set it to turn on silent at certain times such as midnight till 7 am?
This could help re-configure the way your phones goes on silent and may get rid of the problem?
Finally, if your rooted try wiping the dalvik cache etc, maybe a hard reboot etc etc.
Hope I helped.

Your welcome mate.
Okay so tasker isnt the cause
I do highly recommend removing apps one by one and seeing is it carries on, remove the most recent first and work downwards.
Well a hard reboot is basically a factory restore. Which should be your last resort as it will remove all of your data.
Perhaps try another ROM/Kernel as another last resort also.

ok ill try to find it by removing apps
can games also be a problem or only apps ?
Anything that you have personally installed could cause a problem. But I would say it is more likely an app than a game. Try to think of apps that requested most permissions, or that you think may interact with the sound settings.

I did, it didn't work. It might something like Adaway that prevents it from working. Will do some further tests. Thanks for your comfirmation.
EDIT: After uninstalling Adaway and Xposed Framework, it still doesn't work. I will have to stick to the previous version. Please note, I'm on cm 10.2.1.3.
Unless you have other suggestions?
Regards,
I have the same problem with this version, I can't update because the app doesn't work, I've cleared the data, reboot and still it doesn't work, I have a stock nexus 5 with xposed but no modules have anything to do with youtube, if anyone knows what we can try please comment

First post. Hi I have xperia z1 havin same problem with this update seems if u go back to stock app (think thats what it's called) works fine but my phone keeps downloading the update on the fly.../ when they gonna fix it cuz im sick of uninstalling the app only to lose my history on youtube in the process, couple of good tunez dissipated in the mist of my mind
This update works just fine with cm11. I'll keep the old version for now and try again with the next.
I managed to fix it, what I did is turn google play services into a user app using titanium backup, then clear the data of youtube in the application section in settings that made the new update work after that I moved play services back to system app and everything is working ok now, you can try this and see if it works for you too

Question Unable to backup Google data

In the last days i´ve been trying to backup my google account (in rom settings), and it always end up with error - "unable to backup. Try again later".
I don't have any lock enabled. Already clean my Google storage data, installed Google drive, and it always end up with the same.
Yesterday trying to solve it, I ended up with huge battery drain because of "external storage" and seedvault (seed backup is working BTW).
Anyone can help me with this pls? TIA

I use the Google One app for that. I found that it handles backup better than setting page
True, just tried it out. Also that's what Google suggests you do.
Well, I followed all your guys suggestions, and just ended up with 0 backups I can't manage to get it to work. Pretty weird. Maybe is the universe pointing me to the degoogled side

Probably it were. Now that I've changed rom it's working again. Even though, after setup wizard I get the warn that wasn't possible to recover the data. But it seems to be all fine. Weird.

Never worked for me since I moved from stock Stable MIUI by Xiaomi to MIUI.eu Weekly. Doesn't matter what I do.
