After flashing this ROM (3 times), I'm not able to get WiFi working. The Play store didn't work right away, and I kept getting the "Hands Free Activation" wizard every time I booted, but after wiping and re-flashing I think those work.
When I turn on WiFi, it sees my network, but when I enter the password it just says "saved, secured" and doesn't try to connect. Clicking on the network only gives me the options to Cancel, Forget, or Connect. Connect does nothing, and Forget puts be back at square one.
I'm also unable to use the hotspot feature, when I tick the box it says "Turning on..." and that's all.
Any thoughts?

After I rooted, my phone won't connect to WiFi anymore.
I started with the Cyanogen Mod (6.0.2). When I try to connect to a WiFi network, it tries to connect and gets to the "obtaining ip address" message, and finally fails to connect.
I figured I should try a different mod and completely wipe the card. So, I did this via Rom Manager. I had it backup and wipe, then install Skyraider w/ Sense. The same problem persists.
Does anyone have any ideas how I can troubleshoot this problem? Thanks!
Dumb question, but you did re-select the WiFi network you want to connect to, and re-entered the password for that network (if one is required)?

Yeah I have. I've tested this with multiple WiFi networks on each mod. It always gets to the point of "obtaining ip address" which to my understanding means the password has worked. Either way, I'll always long press to forget the password, and re-connect. Even disabling the password on the router still causes the same issue.
Ive got a genuine 3 UK (unbranded) desire and been using it for over a year.
Recently they released a small software update (2.29.405.5). I couldn't install this as not enough space so i thought id do a factory reset to get space, clean up and go from scratch.
Not a problem except after that reset my WiFi has stopped working completely.
It turns on, it shows as on, it scans and it shows WLANs around. However no matter what lan you select the second you enter a key without even trying to connect it says "Unable to connect to the network".
If i try to manually add a network i get "Unable to save the network".
It doesnt even seem to attempt to connect, just errors immediately. It's not a key issue as entering any key either correct or incorrect immediately produces the above error.
After a factory reset failed to get it working i rooted the phone to delete/edit the wpa_supplicant.conf file. This didn't solve the problem.
As a last resort i downloaded the latest RUU, flashed but again this hasn't fixed the problem.
So, does anyone know whats broken or how i can fix this or is it a return on the phone?
Everything else would appear to work perfectly but it just refuses to save any details of wlans or connect to them. It all worked fine before a factory reset!
Hey, I've got CM10 on my GS3. When I go under Settings, the Wifi toggle is set to Off and grayed out so I can't toggle it. When I go to Wifi, it just says "Turning on Wifi" indefinitely. I also have issues with wifi tethering sometimes.
Any solutions to this? I haven't been able to find any posts on it. I'd prefer not to reset to another ROM, but if there's no other ways to fix this, oh well.
Thanks!
Flash to a TW rom and see if it works.
If it doesnt work, try the following:

So as to fix this problem, some people suggest to do a Factory reset. But, it is completely unnecessary.Instead you can try the following methods, which where tested by me successfully.
1. Dial *#*#526#*#* to reload the wifi driver. If it doesn’t work, restart your phone and dial it once gain.It will work for sure.
2.There is an app “Wifi-Fixer” from android market, which claims to be fix this problem. But seriously,it hadn’t worked for my mobile phone(Samsung Galaxy Ace). But,
if you are interested, can download and try it here.
For HTC users, I have a pretty good trick which works very well.
When you have obtaining IP address problem,
1.Turn off wifi.
2.Open “Allshare”, then you will be asked to connect to a wifi network.
3.Then select the wifi network that you need to connect from the list opened.
Magically, you will be connected without any extra effort. This works 100% sure without fail.
If that doesnt work try this:
1.Dial *#*#526#*#*.Then a message will be shown “Driver loading Successful”.
2.Now Start the WiFi, it should work.
If the message “Driver Loading Unsuccessful” is shown, follow these steps:
1. Dial *#*#526#*#* again and click options button on your phone.
2. Select Rx test.
3. Select Channel >9 .
4. Click Start and exit.
5 . After some time, turn on the wifi.It should work.

My phone won't even let me dial that, the code disappears the second I hit star the last time, not sure if it's supposed to do that. I'm gonna just try updating CM and see if that fixes it.
I am on CM 11 4.4.4 and my wifi just stopped being able to connect or find networks.
When tapping my saved networks I get an error saying "Failed to connect to network", when trying to forget networks I get "Failed to forget network", when trying to add a network manually, i get "Failed to save network", when searching for networks it gets stuck on "Searching for Wi-Fi networks..." and when tapping "WPS pin entry" I get "WPS failed. Please try again in a few minutes".
I have tried renaming the wpa_supplicant.conf (and rebooting my phone) as well as updating to a more recent build, and wiping cache/dalvik. This happened out of the blue and I have no idea what is going on and can not connect to any network.
Thank you.
EDIT: I restored to an old backup and it fixed the issue.
I flashed 5.1.1 factory image and booted up. I'm trying to skip for now the "select network" initial screen because I don't have the passwords. Even though there is a button for "skip", it is grayed out. How can I skip the network setup for now?
Ignore attached images.
go set it up somewhere with free wifi ..with a coffee most libraries have free wifi
