[Q] Does H.264 video work on Firefox for Android? - HTC One V

Does anyone know if h.264 video will work on Firefox for Android? It works for me on the stock Android browser, but I can't seem to get it working on Firefox.
I have toggled the stagefright.force-enabled flag to True. Is there something else I need to do?
I'm running Shpongle if that makes a difference. Thanks.

Video formats

Which video formats are compatible with this android build (i.e., 3gp/mp4/avi) ... it seems that only videos I've taken with my Tilt 2's camera will play ... are there video constraints or limitations I need to adhere to?
Sent from my MSM using XDA App
I was wondering as well. I have tried MP4 files that played fine in Windblows Mobile but I only get sound or very slow video playback if using the Rockplayer android app. Is this part of Android not fully optimized yet or is there something else we should look for? I was hoping HW3D might of been the missing key but that didn't seem to help with the latest update.
From what I tested only certain 3gp Format seems to play fine in android.
I was hoping the same with Hw3d but a disapointment in that field If I can get Mp4 to work I'd be happy. Even find a way to make flv play would be a definate plus.

Since when does 3D have anything to do with video playback?
Devs haven't started tackling this yet, but it's on the docket. Tables aren't being pointed correctly was the basic description I got from a dev.

I know 3D has nothing to do with video playback. I had just been wondering if the issues playing videos was due to an unoptimized GUI as android was meant to run with the 3D tweaks.
We now know that the devs are looking at working on this.

[Q] Choppy video - used to work okay. No video in native player, either

I've been experiencing some choppy video problems on my myTouch Slide. I know phones are somewhat notorious for this, but the weird thing in my case is that it used to work just fine and now it won't. Same video file (a movie in WMV format), same media player (arcMedia), now it won't work.
So I thought "it's probably a problem with arcMedia." So I tried RockPlayer. Same problem. Then I tried streaming flash video on Dolphin HD (which also used to work provided the video was buffered). Same problem.
So I grabbed an MP4 off of NASA's website and tried it on the native player. I don't get any video, just sound. From what I can tell this video should play just fine: H264 video codec and everything.
I'm new to Android but not new to computers and tech.
Any ideas?
Well what changed? Did you install any new apps that may be running in the background? Did you flash another rom or something since the last time you played this wmv file?
What was the resolution of the MP4 off the NASA site? If it was HD that is probably the reason why you get no video.

some flash videos not playing..

Since FLash player 10.2 came out for our phones, I noticed that a lot of web sites seem to not PLAY flash video anymore using a browser such as MIREN, BOAT or even the stock sense browser..
does anyone know why? for instance? try to play videos on www.unlimitedsounds.com/blog .. they no longer play but did in 10.1 flash
Thanks....

vimeo.com / html5 video

Does anyone else having trouble with vimeo.com videos? On my old Milestone 2 with Android 2.3 the HTML5 videos on Vimeo were running pretty fine but I can't get them to work with my new Nexus :/
Any ideas? ICS Bug?

choppy streaming

couple of questions about streaming to the gio. which program works best and with which settings? i have real problems when streaming anything other than low res avi files. cant seem to get the transcoding options right on the pc end. also is there a player thats best for it? what causes the choppyness? is it the cpu more than the video hardware on the phone? i've tried stopping all running apps in the background and its still not smooth. any suggestions aside from manually converting every file? its gotten to where im almost ready to get another more powerful phone. i've tried several roms hoping for some sort of hardware acceleration but havent had much luck.

Which rom are you using, if you are on cm9 or 10 I understand that streaming won't be that good. but if you are on stock rom or something like Enhanced236 it's indeed weird. I got a few tips if that's the case. Try using MX Player, overclock your device when your watching a video (min:800 max:800), download the video instead of streaming it, trying to watch something in 1080p only will be rough on your phone, try converting the video to 320x480.

yeah i've been converting lately. seems easiest to just change resolution doesnt take long with handbrake. still would be nice if it was automatic plug and play. currently using enhanced rom. will try stock rom though just to see.
