Funny thing is I already made a APN list for everyone a while ago. And this particular one your referring to. If I'm not mistaken WISH777, posted this same one, or something very similar long time AGO!!

FYI : speed depends on your network, where you are at the time, area, city. Are you close to a tower. Those all come into play when checking speed!!

Sure did LAST YEAR....thats when it wasn't popular as it's everywhere now...lol worked real nice back then too...I hit almost 100 likes it worked for a lot of people back then Probably had something to do with the balance of them and the modems at the time..hipri seems to have a impact as it's telling the network hipri = high priority
I never heard of that one and type up above called mas?...wth is that?
Most of the apn types I found last year I know a tech thru AT&T and he taught me most of those and a explanation of what each one does..as he used the ones I posted. ..so I just shared the knowledge to the family here..

Just use "phone" instead of "pta"
I'm on dicksteele's ROM and I can't modify or delete the default APN. Creating a new APN and enabling it did not do anything since it resorted to the default APN. I've tried deleting the APN config file out of system/etc and the APN apps don't work with 4.3. Is there any way to get rid of the default APN so I can try the one wish came up with or is this APN method so old that the benefits are no longer existent?
Thanks,

Sqlite editor pro
If your rooted you can use sqlite editor to go into system files an delete your default apn's or once you find the apn change the vaule under default from 1 meaning its the active default apn to 0.....when you get app only paid pro version can change apns.....look around enough on this site you can find it free or google the apk cracked ones that work everywhere........to locate your apn you have to have a root explorer installed.....run sqlite....click file at top after you grant it super user permission.........follow.....data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephon.db/carriers......apns are all listed there.

Picked this phone up yesterday second hand. It was rooted when I received it and started crashing anytime I would try to install and application. Did a hard reset and it ended up getting stuck in bootloop. Finally got it restored via the threads on here and re-rooted....however the phone will not connect to LTE now, and my data speeds are slooooww (.10kbps download .05kbps upload)...with full "4G" HSPA signal. Any ideas?
Maybe your APN settings are out of whack. I don't know much about it, but let me get my phone and I'll edit this post to add the APN settings.
The APN should show in the list of APNs as:

I would imagine that I only use about 250MB...so no. I got a brand new SIM this morning from AT&T and was told it was the newest revision.
Should Brady try installing one of the ROMs guys and see if it fixes some kind of software issue that might be imaged on the phone by the previous owner?
Also, worst case scenario, you should still be able to send it back to LG under warranty since it's last than a year old.

Now I'm curious what the previous owner did to fudge the phone up that bad that the signal is shot.
Do you have another phone to test your sim card in?
Silly question, where do you live? I ask because LTE is only available in a very few markets.

Tried the SIM in another phone, however it wasn't 4G compatible so it didn't help. I live in Houston, Texas. When I called into tech support, they said I was less than half a mile from an LTE tower. Even HSPA+ should be getting better than 1/10 MB second.....
Yes, HSPA+ should get you 3-5MB/second. The .10MB/sec is edge speed. LTE will get you at least 15-20MB/sec. Here in DFW I get over 50MB/sec sometimes.

Was it the same speed or slightly faster? You know it would make a difference, we are troubleshooting here...

what does it say in the mobile network type?

Here comes the Mb/sec Mbps confusion... Your numbers are written as MegaBytes, yet you meant MegaBits, it's 8 times difference right there.

Tried the phone in an old 3G phone. Data was faster. Its definitely the phone and not the card. Says HSPA under network type
What is it supposed to show at the network type when phone connected to LTE?
The next attempt I'd do is to backup all partitions:
Code:
cat /dev/block/mmcblk0p1 > /sdcard/firmware-backup.img
cat /dev/block/mmcblk0p8 > /sdcard/boot-backup.img
cat /dev/block/mmcblk0p13 > /sdcard/recovery-backup.img
cat /dev/block/mmcblk0p14 > /sdcard/baseband-backup.img
cat /dev/block/mmcblk0p27 > /sdcard/system-backup.img
(you must have root and these commands executed either in adb shell or console app on the phone)
then skipping to "Restoring Nitro HD partition images" at the [Solved] Unbricking Solution for LG Nitro HD | Confirmed Working on Bell Optimus

Edit: Its working now, I'm not 100% sure yet but seems to be a conflict between my home network and my cellular network., if I disable my wifi MMS will work perfectly but having wifi enable during sending process of MMS my 4G icon will show up and MMS will fail, will try connecting to wifi (G) not (N) as my router is dual band and I never used (N) before until yesterday, will report.
Edit: Can not use wifi if I want to sent MMS and possibly emails too. SGH T989 ICS 4.0.3 Stock rooted.

couple things have you asked on the AT&T forum and have you done a google search on how to get your Tmobile phone to work on AT&T?
next is have you changed or rather added the new apn? if any of this is an issue for you I would say your best bet is to trade the phone on craigslist for someone with the skyrocket.
since the two phones are interchangeable as far as roms go I would suspect with a little more digging you will find your answer... check here

I have read many posts and think my problem is because I let them scan my IMeI number.
I have Note 2 from Walmart on T-mobile, I had them unlock the network by telling them I was going overseas. I ported the number off of it and the account closed automatically. When I get the final bill I will pay the ETF fee and all will be doen with them.
I went to at&t and opened another line for this phone and it gets the hspa+ but won't get LTE.
I have the correct apn set correctly.
Does anyone know a way I can get my Imei number off the at&t computer or another way to fix it so I can get LTE?
It looks like I need to take another AT&T LTE phone there and let them scan the number. Will it mess up someone elses phone if I use their number and they are on AT&T?
Or maybe another way I could get online and fix it?
Thanks in advance.

I have all the apn settings correct, those are posted everywhere.
I was given a hint I shouldn't have let AT&T scan my IMEI number. But I don't know how to fix that,

I think I remember something about enabling AWS on the device for transitioning between carriers. I can't remember if it was tmo to at&t or vice versa. IIRC there was a thread over on the at&t xda gn2 page regarding tmo GN2 use on at&t. Teshx or Tekhd I think did something with it.
Good luck.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else had a similar problem or can help with a solution. I just got my Oppo 7 (love this thing) but it seems the network doesn't work properly. The network seems to be picked up just fine, full bars, under network settings it automatically acquires the APN settings and everything, but I can't do anything over the air without WiFi. As soon as the WiFi is gone, I can't browse the internet, send or receive text messages, etc. What do?
Will this help? Won't be LTE, but H+ (my phone doesn't have LTE)

I have mine set up on T Mobile and I'm having the same problem. It's pretty annoying. I've tried a factory reset to no avail. My phone downloaded an update this morning which I hoped would fix the problem, but it looks like it hasn't.

That's odd. There's one thing wrong with this device on stock - its APN database for AT&T is 3-4 years out of date. It was still using the wap.cingular APN when I turned mine on.
You need to manually put in the AT&T LTE APN (pta). ALSO if you've never owned an LTE device before you'll need to talk to AT&T to have your account updated. (Using the pta APN with a Nexus 5 resulted in no data for me too until I had my plan/account updated. You can do this without an actual contract change - for example I'm still grandfathered in to "unlimited data"). In general I would recommend doing this in-person at an AT&T-owned store, not at the phone and not at a franchisee (like most small mall kiosks).
Thanks for the reply everyone, I entered in the new ATT HSPA+ APN and it works like a charm now.
Could you post your settings?. I confirmed the SIM I got yesterday was lte capable but still no dice.

Just putting in the pta APN with no other info was enough for me.
(MMS is probably borked for me until I fill in the right settings for it but I use MMS maybe once every 3 years at most.)

I just realized that you were in here Entropy. I appreciate the work you did with the Galaxy S2 (last phone I had before this one). Do you plan on doing any dev work with this one or are you going to take it easy?
mmsc: http://mmsc.mobile.att.net
mms proxy: proxy.mobile.att.net
mms port: 80
apn type: default,mms.supl
That's what I have currently and mms works fine.

I pulled the APN configs for ATT Phone APN from omni's github (I updated it a few months back to what it was from an AT&T stock TouchWiz Galaxy S4 ROM, so it this is update-to-date afaik)
I've bolded the ones that you actually need to touch, otherwise, don't touch them

I have this as my settings now and still only get H+. (except for the mmsc, you have 3 m's)
Weird thing is that I get 0 connection when I change from phone to pta.
Not sure if locale is the culprit. I'm in Oklahoma City.

whoops made a typo, yea it's only 2 m's in mmsc
try applying ATT Phone apn and rebooting,,
that's weird. did you call AT&T to confirm that you have the LTE data package on your account like Entropy512 stated ?

I went to the ATT store, but they weren't any help. They confirmed that the SIM they gave me was lte compatible, but I assumed that's the same thing as having an LTE data package. I'll give them a call tonight and let you all know. (btw, just re-applied your settings and still no luck)
edit: called.. and they claim that all accounts have lte compatibility now and of course she had never heard of the OF7a
The settings entropy posted were the exact settings my N5 had which I copied over and worked fine. One thing to be aware of is that mine says 4G on LTE and then either H or H+ for those, not sure if this applies only to my service area or what and another might show differently. At any rate if you're getting 4G showing you might wanna run speedtest and see if you are getting LTE.

AT&T's SIMs have been LTE compatible for years, even before AT&T had an LTE network. I need to check to be sure, but I'm fairly certain my SIM is still the original "cut down SIM" that I've had since 2011 at least.
It's your account that needs to be LTE-enabled.
Don't call. Phone support is awful. Go to a corporate-owned AT&T physical store. That's where the competent staff are.
(In my case, I originally did the LTE upgrade on a Nexus 5 - if you put a SIM into a Nexus 5 that doesn't have LTE on the account, you'll get a text message saying to call AT&T.)
