Did you use Odin to flash Samsung ROM.
Did you wipe the system etc... before you flashed the stock ROM. I read somewhere that Odin does not wipe anything. So that maybe the problem.

i think so, but i dont know for sure, it got a hard problem, the earphone conector was broken, and i went to a indian guy to change it, the problem was a piece not a soft thing...
i was already with my new phone so i asked him to put it on stock...
he gaved me back with no root and no CWM, what makes me belive it was on the odin, but some stuffs was still there, like my msgs on whatsup(after my girl downloaded it), but my pics not...
i just want to know if ot has some about he be dying or it something stupidy the man did and i can fix???
in fact she had no problem with the phone until candy crush, really is only with this game rebooting the phone and making him heat a lot

Since you don't know the exact procedure followed to install stock samsung rom, I have to assume that the phone was not wiped properly. So in order to fix any software related issue, I recommend the following procedure.
1- root your phone.
2- Flash CWM
3- Boot into CWM and wipe everything... Format system, data, sdcard etc..Everything ...
4- Put your phone in to download mode and using odin flash samsung rom.
I know it is a long procedure but this way you will make sure it is not software related...
But before doing all this, you may wanna ask others, who are on stock rom, to check how their devices perform on the game you mentioned. Maybe it is a very demanding game and heats the device up. If that is the case, than you are out of luck... Then it means our device is not fit for that game. Too high of a temperature, any device will stop working and reboot.
Good luck.
Same thing for my friend's. His Galaxy W started rebooting and ended up going into a bootloop. We tried wiping and formatting everything through recovery, but it does nothing.
We then tried flashing back to stock through odin but the phone can't get into download mode, because it reboots everytime we tried.
So the phone ran out of battery and we tried to charge it. Unfortunately, it kept rebooting and even after an hour, there seems to be completely no charge at all. Still in bootloop.
I need a solution or suggestion because he is feeling rather frustrated now lol.
More info:
- Not running stock; running on CM9
- No more warranty
- Reboots even in recovery

have you try to pull out the sim and the micro sdcard then try again to get to download mode?
i dunno if this related but better to try it than not..
It might be your battery and that's why it rebooting,it can't charge up enough so it reboots.
Should not be rebooting in CMW,Mine works fine on Cm9,10,10.1.

First off, hi again XDA.
Second, I've been having this problem for a while now... One day, I was working on something and I was running Team PSYCHO's JB ROM (...or someone close to that name) and all of a sudden my phone said "Shutting Down..." and turned off. I went home, plugged it in, left it charging for about three or four hours. I go to turn my phone back on and find out it's lagging out all the way. I thought it was just a root issue that happened because no matter how many times I attempted to take the battery out and restart it, it didn't want to stop lagging. I wiped the cache, almost everything (I didn't wipe the /system because I wanted to get something off there if I could, and yeah....that didn't turn out so well.) So, I go to unroot my phone and find a PGIMG32 file from XDA that everyone was using, just to be denied by my phone saying that the radio/firmware is higher than the one trying to be installed, aborting, so-on-and-so-forth. Tried doing CM9, lag. Tried going back to the JB ROM, lag-city. Decided to go to CM7, it worked fine (for the most part, still had some lag here and there.)
So, I switched back to MIUI and Venom (I now use the Venom wiper everytime I switch a ROM) to find out that those two were still laggy. Currently, I am sitting on MIUI and I am going to try that INC2 respiratory that someone put up (100% forgot the name, but saw the thread.)
My question is, does anyone know how to get rid of this lag?
Thanks again.
P.S. I don't get an upgrade until March, so if it could just last me out until then.

Try connecting your phone to your PC, mounting as disk drive so the PC reads the card and not your phone. If the lag goes away then it could be something with the SD card maybe. Don't unroot yet before researching. Be sure you are checking md5 before flashing to ensure a good download. If you narrow down to a SD issue, remove any files you need, and wipe and reformat the card.

Hey guys.
This has only started to happen since I installed a rom that seemed to come with twrp and has removed my cwm..
My phone now seems to be very laggy when scrolling, even the notification noise lags and when it goes to into standby nothing happens it just goes off and the only way I can use the phone again is by taking the battery out.
I've tried flashing a new rom but thats not making a difference and i'm at a loss at what to do now....
Thanks for reading and any advice is appreciated.
*Forgot to mention, when being attached to pc via usb its not being recognised as being there, doesn't show as attached, just does nothing*

Could you please specify what Rom and version that you flashed?
Sent from the rabbit hole.
Did you install one of the other custom recoveries manually yet? Btw. IMHO TWRP is the best anyways. Did you do a full wipe before installing new ROM? what kernel/version are you on?
I went from using the Android revolution HD 10.0 version with stock kernel, I changed to AllianceROM N7100 XXDMA6 JB V1.0 but didn't find it smooth enough so I swapped back to Revolution, thats when I found twrp had installed.
I've tried flashing the stock recovery and i'm still getting the same issue.
I've since reflashed cwm but this hasn't solved the problem unfortunatley.....No idea what to do
You should at least wipe cache/dalvik, or even after doing a backup with TB, a fullwipe.

Have you considered it could be sudden death syndrome?
You should have nothing to worry about in terms of it dying, since you have a very recent base rom (dma6), which include safeguards against it.
When it freezes, have you tried waiting to see if the phone responds after you press the Home Button?
I ask this because I've read reports of people waiting for over 20 minutes for the phone to become responsive again after pressing the home button when in standby.
Another thing: have you ever flashed a full stock rom after DLL7 (including DMA6)? I ask this because DLL7 and later include a new bootloader that *supposedly* helps address the sudden death issue. It doesn't hurt to try anyway.

Hi everyone,
I've searched everywhere for a solution so please help!
Basically i've had my note 2 for around 3 months and it keeps freezing (so frustrating).
Surprisingly this happend on stock before i even rooted or anything like that.
I remember installing some game from the app store that started the freezing but i re flashed it on stock and this was ages ago. I went to samsung and they flashed it but they said that they dont know what it is. Without sending my baby away i'd love to get this fixed.
I've tried rooting, unrooting, different roms, clearing all the cashes.. apps to reduce lagg (incase it was something inducing it).
Im really clueless where to go with it..
(Freezes up to 5 times a day)
(On 4.1.2 because of custom rom)
(On Stock rom now trying to fix but still on 4.1.2)
Thanks for all your help in advance!

Hi Broky
Its on stock at the moment and i've taken my case of because i thought it might be that before....
When i was in the samsung store it was flashed to the stock and i opened skype after the flash and it froze....
Dont know if this is much help?
Thanks!
Try super wipe script by zoot.
Then flash stock rom.
Don't tell it samsung or google account.
Play around with it like browse or do anything. If it still freezes then I am sorry then brockyneo is correct.

Could be a faulty ram chip. Or flash chip. I don't think check disk works on flash drives. But if it was a hard drive that's be the fix.

ya it shouldnt freeze if its been flashed back to stock rom, especially through odin as it near bullet proof
maybe try what UtkarshGupta with the superwipe and try again with a stock rom
if not then you maybe looking at a faulty unit :crying:

What firmware do you have? 4.1.1 or 4.1.2? If you are on a safe kernel (latest 4.1.2 for example) you could try "Dummy File Generator" from Playstore. (there are many reports with succesfull fixes on freezes.) Or, better, take a look at this thread, everything you want to know is here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2133401

Hey legendberry! Did you fix your problem? I'm having the same issue on a stock rom. Resetting and wiping didn't help so I sent mine for repair but it got sent back to me unrepaired and the issue is still there
I have stock note 2, running 2.1 worked flawless since day 1 (was first release in France). Last 2 days been freezing. Have freed up space in internal and external sd. Still happens. Removed some apps, still happens. Reboot, sometimes it works for while then locks up. Very frustrsting as this is business phone.
......
I am in the same situation, because my Note 2 in the last few days has been freezing with maxed out cpu (as reported by the Cool Tool app).
I am now in the process of wiping everything and restoring in the feeble hope to overcome the problem.
Edit: i have wiped everything by formatting with Odin and reloading firmware, then restoring nandroid backup. So far so good, almost 24h without freezing.
Edit2: 2nd day, started freezing again 0
Same problem here, since 2 days my Note 2 freezes all the time, sometimes with 100% cpu load. Sometimes I can use it for a couple of hours, sometimes after reboot it freezes instantly. :S
I did a factory reset (stock 4.1.2), wiped everything but still the same issue...
Very, very frustrating!
To users above: When did you get your Note 2? I've had mine since Oct 10, 2012.
R: Note 2 constant freezing issue
Me too, phone bought in October 2012.
Today I flashed latest Italian firmware, MB2, and started over. No freezes. Even filling sdcard with dummy file generator, which in previous firmware (French MB2) gave several freezes.
Ok.
Then restored nandroid, data partition only, and wiped cache and dalvik. Lots of freezes again, device almost unusable.
So I thought what's the difference? When freshly flashed phone had Touchwiz, while after restore had Go Launcher.
Uninstalled Go Launcher. Bingo.
No freezes anymore so far.
Weird, uh?
I'll report how it behaves in next hours.
Edit: it was go launcher indeed. It's been updated for a reported crashes reboots problem. Now my device is rock steady.

Hello,
I'm running into a very strange issue. I've had Note 2 for a while now (since Nov 2012 -ish) and up until a few days ago it's performed magnificently. I have not load any custom ROM/mod or anything like that - simply because I use Note for work and Good For Enterprise freak whenever there's a custom ROM mod (I didn't even attempt it with Note 2, due to my experience with GFE crapping out on my Galaxy Nexus every time I try to load a custom ROM). But, no complaints so far.
A few days ago (Mar 1st? give or take a day), I got a prompt for a system software update. Ever since then, I have had nothing but trouble with my Note 2. It would boot up fine, but in a few minutes, whether I'm in email, or browsing the net, or running WeChat, or Viber, Pulse, or any of the other apps that I normally use, the screen would freeze up. Power button would turn the screen off, but then once you turn on the screen again, you can't swipe to unlock the screen. Home button doesn't work. The only thing that I could do "to reset the phone" is hold down power and home button and force it to reboot.
Edit: I forgot to mention something, I remember many of the times when I am experiencing the freeze issue, I can still drag down the notification settings, but can't click on anything though. If this helps any one to help me troubleshoot my issue.
Now, I've tried to reload 4.1.1 stock kernel (there are a couple of them), 4.1.2 stock kernel via Odin (I downloaded them from http://samsung-updates.com/). with 4.1.1, the device would be stuck in a bootloop, 4.1.2 works, but after a while, screen freeze problem comes back. I've tried a bunch of things, such as:
1) Just flashing the kernel
2) factory reset via the VolUp+Power+Home, then flash kernel
3) removed my MicroSD, repeat 1 or 2.
I'm totally out of ideas.. can someone help?? Please! I'm stuck with my old iPhone 4s and let me tell ya.. Once you get used to Note 2, iPhone 4s seems positively TINY!!!
any help is appreciated.. but can someone please enlighten me??
PS. Adding insult to injury, my SO who is a hardcore apple fan, now chants "see how stable Apple is?" every time I'm *****ing about this damn Note 2.. heh..

Um, you mentioned Odin. I say go back to the site you got the "kernel" from and download a full stock firmware. Try to find the original one that came with your phone model. Flash via odin. Should fix if a software issue. If after wipe and stock reinstall issue still occurs you may want to consult whom you purchased it from. Could be a hardware failure.
You are right, I actually meant to say full firmware images (they are about 1.5GB uncompressed "md5" files).

Do a mega wipe via zoot's script. Then from recovery reboot into download mode. Then flash the latest stock rom for your country. (If latest is 4.1.1 then flash latest france rom)
After this procedure every bit of information would be deleted from your phone. So backup accordingly.

I have the same problem. Wiping and resetting didn't help. I sent mine for repair but Samsung is ignoring the issue and they sent it back to me unrepaired. I'll probably have to send it in again or try to get a replacement.
Many people here in the forum seem to think these are symptoms of imminent sudden death syndrome so no fu Good luck and let us know how it goes for you.
install "eMMC Check" from google play and run it.
If your eMMC chip is;
Type: VTU00M

read this thread, Note 2 SDS (sudden death syndrome) and worry!!
I have 0xf1 insane chip and am experiencing your exact same symptoms.
Hey Honestly ,
I am not a big Fan of APPLE but i should say that the Apple Os is Very stable , Now the reason of it being stable is because the Apple is not an Open Source Os , Where in Android is an Open Source so there are huge number of Developers who are giving you so many apps for free,u've got lot of Mods and tweaks that can be done on Android where as not on Apple , So Please stop comparing that Apple is stable , not Android , Where there is always a fix for all the problems , I would suggest you to try a Clean install of Stock Firmware by Formatting your Sd and Resetting your Phone and Flash the Stock with Odin.
It is not a sign of sds. It is like fever.
When you have a disease you get fever.
Fever means that your body is fighting against the disease.
Freezing is the fever here. To prevent sds the phone freezes. There is no correct explanation but it seems it only happens after upgrading to sds fixed roms.
this is XXXDDDAAA
Had 5 freezes and/or resets between 07:00 and 08:00, same story for the past few weeks since firmware upgrade XXDMB2.
Now with latest XXDMB6 firmware downloaded this morning its been to rock steady for the last 6 hours
I am 0xf1.
I've posted earlier in one of the SDS/Freeze topics the exact story what did happen with my (roughly 7-month old phone).
A short summary:
I was running a 4.1.2 DLK7 -ROM together with the Perseus 36.3 kernel. I've changed kernel since I knew that I was vulnerable for the SDS. I got a INSANE Fx01 chip.
I've did ran eMMc many times to check if any memory was corrupted, it did pass the tests fine. About 4 weeks ago I had my first phone crash (reboot) while updating a Google Play Store application. Afterwards the phone was alright for roughly two weeks. Then suddenly another crash (reboot). Not even a day later I had a phone-freeze. Only option was pressing Power-button. Then the phone-freezes started to increase, the times became shorter and shorter. A new eMMC test caused a error this time and made my phone do a re-boot. Last time the phone did freeze before even seeing the log-in screen. The next day I tried to power it on, it did not respond! I removed the battery and put it back in. Then it started, but it would not go past the Samsung LOGO Screen. I could still enter the download-mode but it also says : binary counter 1 that means that the OS- is now really broken. I could also still access the recovery TWRP-modus.
I could give it a shot the flash the latest 4.1.2 ROM with Odin (if it doesn't give a nan-d error). But do you guys think it is worth it?
Is it not better to visit a repair-center and let the motherboard replaced?
My concern:
There are also many topics to find here that even with the soft-rom/kernel fix the phones start to act like this : freezes / reboots. It is the SDS-fix kicking in, that saves it from dying but the data-memory-corruption cannot be repaired. So sooner or later even with the latest rom and this chip you will have this problem, lose your data?
Thanks for the advice in advance.

Yes, I know it is a hardware problem and I do not really trust those Soft-SDS fixes. Many report that even with the latest Rom and a kernel with the fix, eventually the same happens. Data just becomes corrupt. Freezes and Reboots occur. Also the loss of data-settings did happen to me. On a re-boot I suddenly had to re-config Swiftkey , Whatsapp + etc :S.
Guess I will visit the repair-center then and ask them to replace the motherboard and flash the latest rom. Only **** part is that I have to root it again and install my 190+ apps, flash perseus or redpill and do a couple of hundred settings. I got a titanium back-up of my apps but I do not trust the back-up anymore. Maybe some data of the apps became corrupt or something.
Btw perseus or redpill with the original stockrom? what do you advice atm? both support the 64gb-micro sd cards right?
