So, you've downloaded and been blown away by the most advanced ROM on the HTC One - ViperOne!!
Well, the fun doesn't end there! Thanks to Team Venom's powerful theme engine, you can change multiple elements of the theme on the fly - a never-before seen feature on any ROM.
Of course as with anything new, there is much confusion how this works. The aim of this thread is to clarify how to change various aspects of the theme, and unleash the full power of the Viper!
There are 2 aspects to themeing on ViperOne:
The built in theme engine (covering statusbar icons, Sense icons, wallpapers, fonts etc)
The full flashable theme, which completely transforms the look of your device
To some degree, the effects of these are independent. So you can change aspects of the built in theme without changing the skin, or change the skin but keep theme elements. Or even keep everything, and just change the Sense icons. The possibilities are endless.
The secret to ViperOne's stunning good looks is a combination of the above, and you can find more information on this over the next 4 posts

So you've read about the revolutionary theme engine in the ROM thread. But what exactly can you do with it? Basically, it allows you to alter some of the graphical elements on the fly, without needing to flash or even reboot.
Using Venom Tweaks, you can change the appearance of:
Statusbar icons
EQS icons
Battery icons
Sense icons
Notification shade background
App drawer background
These elements are all independent and can be changed to suit your tastes. So, you can use icons from different icon sets to mix and match your own personal theme.
But that's not all. Take a closer look at the screens where you choose statusbar themes and icon sets. You'll notice that each supported statusbar icon can be changed independently. So you like wifi icon from theme A, but battery from theme B? No problem, download both and mix it up as much as you want. You're only limited by what's available in the Hub.
And if there's some icons you want that aren't in the Hub? That's what the Venom kitchen is for.....Special thanks to:

As if the ROM wasn't customisable enough, the ROM devs have also developed the Venom theme kitchen.
Really want some statusbar icons that aren't in the Hub,or got a great idea for a set of Sense icons? Why not make it yourself and share it with others via the Venom Hub?!
We've put some themes in the Hub to get you started, but the aim is to fill it with user generated content.
We've tried to make the tutorial as easy as possible, but if you have any questions, here's the place to ask.
Post your completed themes here, with a screenshot. If the theme looks nice we will add it with credits to the venom hub, so all users can download it from there!
One thing we ask though - ideally you'd be using icons you've created yourself. If you are going to use someone's else icons, please ask them for their permission first.
We all spend a lot of our free time making these, and it's really annoying to see your work ripped off by someone else! I'm sure you'd all agree.
If you used icons from the UOT kitchen, then say so.

Thanks to some very knowledgeable people on this site, I finally managed to complete the inverted Sense mod that I started on ICS!
I also decided to address the blue/green imbalance and convert the leftover green stuff to HTC JB blue, again for a more unified feel.

fichl for helping me to keep the theme up to date with later versions of ViperX
REQUIREMENTS
Rooted XHDPI device running Sense 4+
Custom recovery (works with TWRP and CWM)
ROM based on 3.14.401.31 - should work with any rom, stock or custom, as long as it's rooted
COMPATIBLE DEVICESSo far only tested on One X, but in theory should work on any Sense 4.5 device.
If you try it on any other device, please let me know if it worked.
BUGS
Main bug is that this will only work with the default HTC skin. There are certain UI elements that get overwritten by custom skins, so they will need adapting for inverted Sense -- more on that in post 2
You may get odd glitches when using 3rd party apps. Unfortunately this is unavoidable since I can't control where they draw their images/resources from

INVERTED GOOGLE APPS
There have been a few requests for inverted G Apps. I've never bothered with these, since there are already some excellent inversions out there.
I tend to use either Team BlackOut's or rujelus22's inverted apps. Between the two of them, they have pretty much all apps covered, including many popular 3rd party apps
FOR THEMERS
Okay, as stated above, this mod will not work properly with custom skins, due to the changed text colours. They will need to be adapted to work properly. Sorry, I know that's a pain, but we can blame HTC for that.
To try and minimise the pain, I have documented which images / xmls in the skin apk need to edited to fit with this mod. Attached to this post is a mod pack, which contains the required xml and png edits to make any skin compatible with the inverted com.htc.resources. Let me know if I missed anything, I will add it in.
EDIT: Have uploaded a revised version of the inversion mod pack. The original one had a few unnecessary images - thanks to my teammate AJ for tidying that up for me
I will try and keep a list here of compatible custom skins, so please let me know in the thread or by PM if you have adapted your skin, and I will add it to this post.

Yep as I mentioned, it will only work with the HTC skin. All other skins need adapting to work properly. The mod pack isn't a flashable zip I'm afraid. Its more a resource for my fellow themers to make adapting their skins a little less of a chore!
If there's a skin you want to use, you'll need to ask the skin chef to adapt it....or ask permission to adapt it yourself

The theme is compatible with the latest Version of the JKay Deluxe Framework and ANY other Rom without it!(except EMR2!!!!) Please tick "I'm using stock" if you're using stock and "I'm using JKay" if you're on JKay..
If you're using TWRP this theme won't work as TWRP has some problems with the VRTheme Engine.. Please install CWM to flash this theme!!(I suggest you Philz Touch Recovery)
Now compatible with TWRP AND CWM Please pick the right version for your recovery!
Please note that the Aroma can freeze from time to time. This is a general bug from the aroma installer! If that happens just press the PowerButton for several seconds. The phone will reboot to recovery and you can start the installation again.

Hey...only jokeing..he he..i installed v1.0...0% transparancy..in jkay app transparancy unticked but its still transparent on menu..notification panel...

Yeaah the 0% stuff isn't finsihed at all yet.. Only restores the black background in the tw apps.. I'll release a V1.1 tomorrow which also restores the popups ..
But if you untick "Transparent background" in the Notification Panel options the notification drawer becomes black like on stock! I didn't change anything in this behaviour and just tested it and it works

Hi..i did have transparent background unticked and other transparent options unticked...i still had transparency on dropdown notification panel..not black..i will try v1.1...thanks

Then suggest me some colors The stuff with the selectable systemui text color will be included soon! But it needs some time. So it'll come in V1.2 with some more colors(you suggest me^^)
This is an updated version of my first Full Blue Ginger theme and uses NeatROM Lite base files.
Unlike the previous version, most of this one is built as a VRTheme (enabling me to reduce it's size from 47MB to 19MB) and, as I've re-signed the modded SystemUI.apk and disabled signature checking in services.jar, VRThemes can be flashed over the top so that things like the battery icons etc. can be changed easily.
It theme should be flashed in CWM Recovery over a clean install of NeatROM Lite (i.e. no mods flashed before this) or, if you've flashed mods, flash one of the NeatROM Lite Restorer zips first and then flash the theme.
Always take a Nandroid backup before you flashing these zips - even if you're running NeatROM Lite! (and make sure that the \preload partition is included in the backup)
As this is a personal theme, I won't be modifying it for anyone, but feel free to use it as a base for your own theme and modify it yourselves

Having got my S2 back as a second phone, I've updated it to NeatROM 6.4 and put together a cut down version of this theme for it as there's still far too much Samsung green...

If you're talking about the -S4 ICONS pack from this thread, it should be OK if you select the -PRELOAD version.
There's only one way to find out for sure though...

The best place to find icons is here on XDA - especially the Android Themes forum
Find the ones you want, re-size/re-name them if necessary, put them in an empty VRTheme.zip and flash it.
Don't forget to ask permission from the original poster if you want to publish your vrtheme

To change back to the old recent apps layout would take a while as it'd involve editing xml and smali and, TBH, I like the new layout much better than the old one - it just takes a while to get used to.

I had a request to port my Sprint CDMA Theme to AT&T. The more I worked on it and looked for files I found this forum. There is a much larger user base here so I figured I would share the port. As I stated in the OP this theme will not work on roms that use Message+Nonprime.apk. If there are some users that would like to work with me on some testing, I am sure I can get a version that works for many more Roms. PM if you want to help.

What I like most is that it's subtle. You didn't go balls to the wall with blue on everything, but added highlights and some recoloring where it really counts. Cudos on a wonderfully designed theme!

Thanks...that was what I was shooting for...subtle. My original vision did not have as much blue in it...but the more I used it the more I felt it needed just little more splash of blue to make it pop. I only touched images and sections of the ROM that made sense.

I'll do my best to get this resolved. I do not have a GSM HTC One so working out all the bugs is a bit difficult. It took me 9 beta builds to get it where it is today.

Im on ARHD 12.1 and i found out that it was a 10% step cycle..not 1 %..so from 60 it will be 50 etc..

1. Flashing this will vary with every rom, why?
- Every rom is built differently, for example Beans has many XML edits to make the text blue therefore on some roms your text will be stock.
- There can also be edits done to XML's to point to certain images, if you flash this on a rom and it doesnt look like the below images, thats why.
2. VERY important if you guys want this as complete as possible.
-VRThemes work by finding your APK and then extracting the images into its place. For example if you have Gmail.apk in data/app and I have the Gmail app named, "com.google.android.gm-1.apk" then the theme will not apply. Some roms will have some APK's named differently. If you come across something that isnt themed, simply use ES File Explorer and find the proper name for your .APK (usually located in system/app) and PM me with the APK's name and what rom you are using.

Today is a happy day! I got some HD screen shots on the OP, check them out! I know the screen shots were horrible which might have steered some of you away but they look awesome now. Still doesnt look as good till you see it on your AMOLED screens.

Its only for Clean Rom 3.5. Its a Verizon Rom.
Released the second set of icons on the OP as an add-on! Please leave feedback.
