Seemed to work with verizon sim. No longer get the input sim unlock number, but obviously no signal.

Phone wont even get GSM signal ? I thought this phone does support 1900 Mhz which verizon also uses.

It got a signal. But could not pick up carrier or anything just had signal and said searching in notification bar.
But verizon is CDMA so it did not supprise me.
I see that the LTE radio bands are in there, no surprise there. But I also see WCDMA radio bands too. Does that mean that our Galaxy Note 2 have WCDMA radio too? Or is this just an firmware that Samsung uses across all Galaxy Note 2 devices?
I need to try this I have a at&t sim card.

I think we have CDMA also....not that it does much for us as verizon and sprint require the imei to be loaded into their systems.
WCDMA != CDMA by the way. WCDMA is 3G/4G GSM (aka UMTS)
CDMA is a competitor to GSM. It is used by mainly North American and Japanese/Chinese cell phone companies.
I know Verizon and Sprint in the US and AU in Japan use CDMA. Most of the world uses GSM.
All though thinking about it while we may have the CDMA radio, assuming it is the same chip as the GSM and LTE radio then they may have just not sokdered the connections. Seen that before with FM radios built into the bluetooth chip on the Atrix 4G
Which of the bands are our 4G?
Love learning.

Our 4G is UMTS band 4 (1700/2100) same as our 3G. We dont have LTE yet so no *true* 4G
Sweet.
Thank you.
No problems. This kinda stuff is my hobby. Maybe some day I can get a job at a cell phone company as a technician or something.
I can confirm this works, but I could not get data. I got signal and a carrier name with both an AT&T sim and a Straight Talk (AT&T) sim. It would not load APNs, and I don't have the APN for regular AT&T so I tried with the Straight Talk, put in their APN and still got no data. Neither sim is active currently. It did allow me to call 611 on both sims.

Hey Y'all,
I've seen the other threads and I know that LTE works for AT&T but for the life of me, I cannot get it to select LTE
at all. I've tried the connections-->network mode menu and whenever I select LTE+WCDMA+GSM it always reverts
back to WCDMA+GSM the moment i back out of the menu. Also when using the *#2263# and I try and select it
via that way, I get bars but no data. Can anyone help me shed some light on this?
Is there another way to prioritize LTE? Do i need to flash a new kernel or modem?
Thanks guys!

I just dont know if I'm missing a step or if the phone is defective. But it gets T-Mobile LTE ( in what few places get it

No I did not. I just did the unlock method that was posted here. So forgive the noob question, but I would have to flash
the AT&T radio to get LTE? Or is this just a troubleshooting method you want me to try? I just thought I wouldn't have
to flash the AT&T radio since it supported the bands Out-the-box.

Technically, you shouldn't have to. It supports 700 MHz LTE out of the box. The T-Mobile S4 is the "best" version because it supports both AT&T and T-Mobile bands out of the box. The AT&T S4 supports AT&T and T-Mobile LTE out of the box, but not T-Mobile HSPA+ (AWS) without a mod.

It's more along the lines of a troubleshooting method. I believe I read another thread exactly like yours and the solution was to flash att radio. Think of it like a regular am/fm radio. All the hardware is there, but without something to control what stations it can play, how's it gonna know what to play?

The network is decided by the SIM card (the entire purpose of GSM). With an AT&T SIM, he should still be able to pick up T-Mobile LTE (AWS LTE is what T-Mobile uses and it's supported in all AT&T devices). My AT&T Note 2 gets T-Mobile LTE, just like my T-Mobile Note 2 does.
Also you can't cross-flash modems because the partition sizes are different; ROMs may be compatible (that's the case with the Note 2) but not the modem. If you flash another device's modem, you'll lose your IMEI (until you flash back the correct one) and your device will bootloop with no signal. From experience.
IGNORE THE GUY TELLING YOU TO FLASH THE AT&T RADIO. YOU'LL BRICK YOUR PHONE.
----------------------------
I just remembered the reason. AT&T won't activate LTE on a non-AT&T phone (on their end on the computer) unless you lie to them and give them the IMEI of an AT&T device. 10000% sure. Fixed this for another guy with a T-Mobile Note 2 trying to use it on AT&T. I have one for you. You go on chat online and tell them you're not getting LTE. They ask you for an IMEI number of an AT&T LTE device (it doesn't have to be your S4's) and then they can activate LTE on their end. I happen to have an IMEI of an in-store HTC One on hand. I'll PM you.

You dont need to be so rude first of all. Secondly I never told him to do anything, i simply asked if he flashed the radio and told him it was a troubleshooting method. Meaning, research it before you do it. Just like anything else.
Secondly, others have gotten LTE on their T-Mobile devices without talking to ATT. I already stated i was using the top of my head for diagnosing and never did i tell him to do anything. And since i was going off the top of my head, i remember being able to flash ATT radios to the S3 and S2 of T-Mobile. Also, he has a T-MOBILE DEVICE wanting ATT LTE on it, not the other way around as you are thinking.. Any how, we are two very smart people, we need not argue with one another and telling the op to ignore someone. Thats just flat out rude. Especially since i never said "go flash the ATT radio" i simply asked a question.
To the OP,
Have you set up your APN configurations for ATT?

I'm sorry if I came off as rude to you; I was merely trying to tell him to not cross-flash S4 modems as it can brick the device; you have to be careful what you tell people to do if they're coming to you for help. It's not like with the S2. I correctly said he has a T-Mobile device and wants AT&T LTE on it, and as I said before, I've fixed the issue with someone who was in the same situation with a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 2. Like I stated, the phone itself is capable of 700 MHz LTE, which is what AT&T uses. You don't have to flash any modems. It should just work. The fix is above in the last paragraph.

Did you try changing APN configurations?
Update: I switched the phone, did the unlock process again and....it still refuses to select LTE. I dunno. At this point I'm at a loss and thinking that it might have something to do with the unlock process itself. I might just do one more exchange and pay for the unlock. Can someone who has AT&T LTE on their S 4 do me a favor and post their APN settings so I can compare just to be absolutely sure it's correct?
I have a T-Mobile s4 that I put my AT&T SIM card in out of my AT&T galaxy note 2 and lte works fine. My issue is, I have random losses of network signal then it just comes back moments later while using the T-Mobile s4 with my AT&T SIM card. I used the unlock method posted in the T-Mobile s4 thread, rooted and flashed the Jedi Rom from the T-Mobile s4 thread. Can anyone shed some light on this issue?

Hi,
I purchased Verizon HTC One from craigslist it was mentioned that it is pre-unlocked phone. I have used T-Mobile sim and it is working however when I tried AT&T sim in it that didn't work. It shows at top that network is AT&T but I am unable to make or receive calls. I was able to use data on AT&T's edge network ( though my sim is LTE). I know that both T-Mobile and AT&T are GSM networks and this phone is CDMA/GSM. Does anybody else using AT&T sim on Verizon HTC One? Do I have to change some kind of settings??

You will only get edge because Verizon blocked some of the bands that you would need for hspa speeds.

You will have to change settings to gsm/umts as att uses. Settings>mobile data> preferred network. Also Google att 3g apn settings and edit son. You won't get lte but I don't see why you shouldn't get 3g.

Weird because I have a straight talk att and tmobile SIM card with correct apn's set and I only get edge. I know tmobile reformed my area to the 1900 band too. If I pop those SIM cards in my droid DNA I can pick up HSPA speeds with the same apn settings.

I think it has only the 1900 and 800 band. Not the 850, which you also need for 3g. Or Verizon blocked those bands despite the phone being factory unlocked.

There's an app called "LTE On/Off", not sure if can download from play store, but included with certain Roms. It allows you to pick different bands. You can select HSPCA/GSM etc. Maybe this will help with other networks??
I'm not sure. On android central I have a thread there about the Verizon one. A person there says he tried it on straight talk with an att SIM and got hspa speeds. I tried both an att and tmobile SIM card in my Verizon one and only got edge with both apn settings. And tmobile rolled out the new bands where I live too. At the time my one was not rooted so I didn't have that app.

could you flash a new radio? Seems like that might help.. and if the hardware is the same and you get the bootloader unlocked, root the device, and achieve s-off could you re-flash firmware, radios, hboot and rom could it potentially operate as a modified at&t (or other gsm) htc one? sorry if this is completely wrong I'm not a firmware guy.. I know basics of rom's and installations that's about it just throwing an idea out there...
Not sure, but you could unlock your cid setting it to all 1's and flash a gsm edition Rom or ruu, flash radios too. Not sure weather it would work or not depending on the Verizon model hardware but all that stuff you can do.
Turns out the guy on android central was wrong, he was also getting edge data but didn't know it.

Are any of you who are trying to use the phone on AT&T running a custom rom, e.g. Cyanogenmod or Santod's Global Edition?
My one max works on at&t fine once you add the apn settings for at&t.
The Verizon one does not have the same frequiences unlocked that require you to have 3g. The DNA has pretty much similar radio frequiences and gets hspa but the HTC one has those bands locked so you only get edge, even with apn settings.

Great. It's usage like this that was a big contributor toward the unlimited data plans going away. Thanks. This is why we can't have nice things.
Back on topic, I'm curious as well if flashing new radios would do the trick.
They would have to be fully compatible and I'm not sure they would be. Maybe possible but I have not tried. Mainly one reason why they stopped selling the DNA.

So the consensus here is that you cant do any better than Edge service when using AT&T SIM in a VZW HTC One?
See, I just swapped my Note 3 AT&T for this phone, and Id like to be able to use data. I use AT&T prepaid but my Note was always able to pickup HSPA and LTE
Have any of you ever tried doing a factory reset from hboot? That will clear out all of the network settings from verizon, and force the phone to be reprogramed from the sim.

I have, with TikTak Google Plus Edition 2.0, I'm still only getting EDGE data (same as with stock) I have tried using a gsm rom, radio, and RUU. The phone wouldn't start with the different radio flash, the RUU would just boot cycle, and the rom would always fail (status 7, 6, 4).
I have spend about 20 hours on this flashing separate roms, radios and pretty much anything i can find
Has anyone accomplished this? Running a Verizon sim in a unlocked Tmobile S4?
i am curious about this as well. i dont think the lte bands are the same though
Verizon is LTE 18. Not worried about that too much. I believe 3g will be all it will get
While a Verizon S4 will work with T-Mobile, I don't think a Verizon S4 will work with T-Mobile. Unless you can somehow enable CDMA radios, which technically don't exist in the gsm variants.

All S4's are actually gsm, including Sprint and Verizon. Both are unlock able and able to use on other carriers, so CDMA isn't really necessary

Yes I know many Sprint and Verizon smartphones are world phones, but Verizon still uses CDMA. So wouldn't you will still need a CDMA capable device if you plan to use it with Verizon? If it was the other way around, that's a different story

Yeah but that's why I was telling you.... if a Verizon S4 is gsm and not CDMA, why wouldn't a gsm work on Verizon if the same phone is gsm?
It's probably completely possible. Device wise.... the big problem would be getting Verizon to allow it on the network if it did
Well, i can't unlock the damn thing anyways. Tried 3 times to avail.
Just as soon as I Odin back the NH7 modem i loose the unlock. Very weird.

that's because it has both gsm and CDMA radios, while T-Mobile's does not. At least as far as we know. I think the gsm portion is there for when you travel for edge and HSPA connectivity and of course also for the use of LTE. If you insert a gsm sim card into a Verizon 'global' gsm/CDMA device, it will display a message "switching to Global mode," enabling full gsm mode. You still need a CDMA capable phone for activation on their network AFAIK.

Don't sweat it. Im keeping it.
I tried my unlocked S4 with my girlfriend's Verizon SIM from her S5 and couldn't get it to connect to anything. I tried every different network mode I had available and couldn't get it to see any sort of a signal. I'm pretty sure I also tried to manually search for a network and saw Verizon as an option, but didn't end up getting anything out of it.

It probably picked up the LTE signal, since it is gsm
Any idea why the G5 I have that was unlocked by Sprint OTA will not work with my AT&T SIM? The phone shows the "Bad SIM" icon and refuses to work. I checked the ##DATA# settings, and LTE + LTE roaming are on? Any ideas? Thanks!
I'm no expert, but I believe the Sprint network and phone antennas are 180 degrees different from AT&T.
- Sprint uses CDMA; AT&T uses GSM/UMTS/HSPA+
- Sprint 3G uses bands 10 and 1; AT&T uses bands 2 and 5
- Sprint 4G uses bands 25, 26, and 41; AT&T uses 2, 4, 12, and 17.
Unlocked or not, a Sprint phone antenna is not designed to connect to the same networks as an AT&T phone.
I know there many more knowledgeable than I here, so I welcome corrections.
Change band priority
4 and 2 are from AT&T
Put 1 and 2
And Select GSM on network preference
Open Dial 5689#*992#
Field test
Módem settings
RAT selection and select
GSM/ WCDMA / LTE Auto
@adop_19 Don't get the field test menu when typing the above code. Get "HiddenMENU' with the following;
Device Test
ELT Test
Factory Reset
Log Service
WVDRM Keybox
Any ideas? This is puzzling as Sprint swears the device has been unlocked OTA? There are others on this forum using the same device on Cricket, and thus I believe it should work on AT&T? I am at a loss? Thanks.

Yours may have only gotten internationally unlocked. Sprint has 2 unlocks. They sneakily volunteer information and assume you mean international unlock only. You have to specify domestic unlock to get it to work in the US if you unlock through Sprint's OTA. It does have the bands to support GSM in the US. Even the G4 does. I unlocked one and have it running on T-Mobile. Talk and text only since it didn't give me the APN menu then, but that's ok, it stays near wifi. If you can't get back in touch with Sprint, there are other ways to get it done without them. You'd have to PM me for that part.
Just Reread The Title. It sounds Like they didnt really domestically unlock it.
Is your agreement with sprint for the device fullfilled?

Fyi, being domestic unlocked vs released by sprint are 2 different things

Yes, it only gets Talk, text and 3G and you can only get it working by swapping your SIM. Verizon won't do it if you ask them

There is a free guide to try in dev section
Piggy backing this thread. I've had my LG G5 domestically unlocked by Sprint. I've put in both a ATT and T-mboile sim and added the correct APNs. Calls work so it is definitely unlocked but I can't for the life of me get data to turn on. Not even 3g. Any ideas? Sprint service is deactivated so that shouldn't interfere with the LTE and data. Bands 2,3 ,4, 5, 7 and 12 are enabled according to ##DATA# LTE is enabled. LTE roaming is enabled as well in there.
In network mode I have Automatic, LTE/CDMA, CDMA and GSM/UTMS only. Currently set to automatic. I also tried gsm/utms but nothing.
In LTE discovery I noticed it found LTE band 12 for a second but just connected to UTMS with no data. Everything shows as not roaming (maybe that is the issue?! since these non sprint lte bands are considered roaming bands or something). Reception is good in the area. I usually hit 20mbps+ down in this location with the same sim using band 4.
Help please!
I have a Sprint LG G5 (LS992) and before the ZVC update, I was able to get LTE coverage in my house all the time... Now, after the update disabling my hiddenmenu app trick, I was forced to pay for remote sim unlock for the phone, and everything went great, I have full functionality, and pretty good speeds, using AT&T service now, but I don't get LTE anymore when i'm home... I haven't tried it anywhere else, that is my next move... Just wondering if there was something I missed... I set up the AT&T APN correctly from the ATT website apn settings, have gone through all the hidden menu settings, RAT Selection gsm/wcdma/lte auto, I dunno what I'm missing, other than it just wont work on LTE anymore.
