Will the calender widget or any other app from the original stock Evo ROM work on the newer Jelly Bean ROM? I really like it and hope to use it. I want to know if they are compatible since it's just an older app.

You mean from stock? No, no sense based app's or widgets will work on any of the ics/jb roms, only GB sense roms.

Thats what I thought but I wasn't sure. I read that all of the sense apps are designed to run with the Rosie Scroll. I just wanted to make sure. Thank you.
The stuff on the market sucks. Does anyone know of a full page Google calender widget, or one that is compatible with it? I"m having trouble locating one.

I personally use Business Callendar. The widget is better then sense in a lot of ways. (smaller text, more on the screen, and like 15 different color palates). https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=netgenius.bizcal That's the free version. Paid version was the app of the day on amazon market a while back. So I can't comment on the ad's, because I have the paid version. Try the free version first and if you like it....
A couple other favorites of people...
Calengoo https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.calengoo.android I didn't care for the widgets (unless they have been updated), but will also synch google tasks.
Pure Calendar Widget.. EXTREAMLY customizable
- Agenda view https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.koxx.pure_calendar
- Calendar view https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.koxx.pure_grid_calendar
They also have a few other cool widgets.
Also, some of the launchers have pretty cool built in widgets. Go Launcher, Launcher pro plus. Seems like there was another couple also.

Yep, that Business Calendar is the business.... Ha... Did you buy the paid version? What features are unlocked? I just downloaded the free version yesterday, but I haven't had much time to play with it yet. I'm having phone issues. Tell me what you like about it and if I should spend the $4.99 for it.
It was the free app of the day about 9 months ago on the Amazon Appstore, so I have the full version. Best parts of the paid app (besides no ad's) is more widget themes and a dark theme for the actual app instead of the light theme. Has some other things also, like linking certain contacts to events, drag and drop for some things, and making a template for events.
Personally, I just REALLY like the widget. Best calendar widget I've found.
I would highly recommend "Agenda Widget for Android."
Highly costomizable and free. The only draw back is that it isn't like the stock evo calender widget what displays the whole month.

I heard from several of my friends who own Acer / HTC devices that there's supposed to be a native google calendar widget. However, on my i9000 I can't find it under either Android Widgets or Samsung widgets.
I downloaded a calendar widget from the market, but it doesn't look as good as the "native" one my friend showed me. Any idea where one could obtain that particular widget?
i couldnt find one either, the samsung widgets overall are very poor compared to sense UI, some of the apps are quite nice, but need more widgets.

i find this quite annoying too.. I'm now using smooth calendar from the market.
Did samsung block some of the native android widgets? or just not include? would we be able to install them without root?
I'm gonna bump this one. I really dislike the non-stock versions I find out there. I just want the stock google one. Please, someone help?
bump,
I would also like a calendar widget. Stock widgets are always better quality than custom ones

s there away to have launcher pro but still have htc sense? And with the widgets?
yes you can swicth between both
technically no because sense is basically a launcher over top of standard android. its either one or the other. however launcher pro has sense themes on their site if you dont really care about the sense widgets much.
This should be in Q & A and not Android Dev...

Like the others said, you can have both Sense & LauncherPro, & switch between them, but you can't have the Sense Widgets on LauncherPro. There are plenty of look-alikes in the market you can use though.
additionally if you get launcherpro plus you get a decent replacement for most of the sense widgets that have been remade for launcher pro and can resize widgets which is prettynice.
Add SwitchPro to that mix and you've got everything you need! Heck, between the triple-scrolling task bar at the bottom, 8 SP slots for all my radios and functions I access, three normal shortcuts, and a resized calendar widget, I have everything on one home screen.
Not to forget that you can get up to 7 by 9 icons on the home screen and a rolling apps listing in "3D".
EasyHome
I use an app from the market called EasyHome. It places shortcuts of different launchers on your homescreen! I have sense, adw-launcher, launcherpro, and an experimental AndroidWindows7 launcher.

Oh i thought yuo could do those with the non paid version! even more bonus.
I have had the paid since it came out so hard to keep up with all the benefits there are tons. worth every cent.
Why would you want it
Thread moved to Q&A.
Why would you want it
i could see someone who really likes the sense widgets wanting to but thats why launcherpro plus has recreated them. with out purchasing any apps(or launchers) it is very hard to replace all the sense widgets with something that is as good as what sense has (widget wise).
If you look you can find many that are close but a lot are paid apps. personally i still think your best bet is to simply buy the plus version of launcher pro and as mentioned switchpro. between the two and a few free apps you can replace almost every sense widget.
while its easy to ask why would you its not hard to see why someone would want to if they didnt have knowledge of which apps to get to replace the sense widgets and lets be honest looking for anything in the market is no easy task if you dont know its name.
I just flashed MIUI and really like it. But I'm upset about my missing calendar widget. Does anyone know of an aesthetically pleasing, full page calendar/agenda widget akin to Sense's? Thanks.
Actually, maybe a better idea. Is there a way to theme launcherpro to look like miui launcher?
I use LauncherPro with MIUI but I hate the look of the LP Widgets. I use Android Agenda Widget for my calendar. There are a bunch of skins for it and you can customize it pretty much any way you want. It's free too which is always a plus.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I use Smooth Calendar agenda widget (it's 1x4) and Jorte Calendar (3x4) monthly view widget. Both are free in the market and sync with my Google calendar. This combination takes up an entire screen and gives me everything I need at a quick glance.
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
I use Colorize Widget myself
another one here for smooth calendar, i have it show 3 events and you can tell it to use what calendars and what apps to run off of
I appreciate all the replies, I actually downloaded each widget suggested... but none of them quite did it for me :/
I love the aesthetic of colorize, but there is no calendar and it seems like it doesn't sync with google?
I liked the functionality of jorte, but man, thats an ugly widget, even when i switched over to black. (white is hideous)
Smooth calendar is cool, except I really want a full screen widget.
Oh well, it looks like I'm switching back to LauncherPro, that calendar widget is just too awesome to lose.
Yeah either sense or lp it is i guess

Pure Calendar Widget.
I haven't really used Launcher Pro much because I have been perfectly fine with TW but I kinda want to customize my home screen a bit more.
How much customization does LPP have and is it worth it to drop money on it?
Yes, without a doubt. The widgets are amazing and IMO this is the best launcher out there.

The only thing I never liked about Launcher Pro is how there aren't different pages for your apps. Just one long scrolling section. I have no idea why but it just doesn't look nice to me.
Its worth it just to get the annoying pop up telling us to buy launcher pro plus, lol. (long press on a widget and then release without moving it)
It has some cool widgets but I don't use them. It lets you stretch out any widget to any size, that's probably the most important thing for me. Especially if you are running like a 5 x 5 icon setup where you need widgets like beautiful widgets to take up the whole width of the screen.
They need some buyer control though, all you need to enter the key is the key and the donators email, so you could potentially enter it on all of your friends phone. They should make it so you need to download a new version from the market to replace the existing one.
YES. IT IS!
I've been using the themed LPP version here... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=783427
7 home screens (Friends, Messaging, Calendar and GMAIL widgets take up 4 of them)
Its awesome. easily customizable, and 5x5 is great too...
LLP honeycomb themed, with Midnight 5.2, and HK-Fusion
Worth it IMHO. Widgets are actually useful; developer just added a new gmail widget with more to come. Theming system is a bit kludgey, but the developer has a major rewrite coming in the near future.
I love it. I think it's the best app I've purchased for Android. It's also pretty easy to theme.

First off, let me say, I believe it is definitely worth purchasing LPP as well as ADW EX. Both developers (like so many XDA developers in any of the forums here) really help make Android what it is. Dropping a few bucks here or there is a great way any non-developer can help invest in the success and future of Android modding.
That out of the way, I have used both ADW EX and LPP for a while each. I was firmly in the LPP camp for a long time until I tried Go Launcher.
I find the Go launcher to be quicker/snappier, less memory intensive and more customizable (more transition animations (outside cube and inside cube are a nice touch!)) and it is completely seamless swiping from your last screen to your first screen.
So, it really comes down to personal preference. Someone may like the endless task bar of ADW EX, the widgets of LPP or the small footprint of Go or Steam. And the beauty of Android is that no two setups of the same launcher is ever the same.
Just my $0.02.
if you like it then its worth supporting the developer. theres not much difference from the free version the pro, but again if you like why not donate. It just motivates for him to work on better projects for us.
This thread made me purchase LPP, just now. It's the smallest of things that make it worth it, to me. But it's absolutely worth it.

I have to disagree, the widgets that you get with the pro version, plus the ability to resize widgets is well worth the money for pro, and makes LP so much better.

I used to be a die hard LPP user until I discovered Go Launcher as well. I prefer the swipe options that go has over LPP's widgets as well as the smaller footprint. The developer of LPP is great though. I still use his Folder Organizer app in conjunction with Go Launcher.
So I went ahead and got the regular launcher pro for now. How do I go about customizing things? Still now sure if I want to go Plus.

Most of the customization comes with the Plus version, but the ones you can play with are under Menu/Preferences.
I guess what I'm looking for is a custimized app drawer and a widget that tells the weather and date, which I'm not sure if LPP has so maybe I need to get beaytiful widgets or something like that.

Use Go Launcher with Beautiful Widgets
Went I purchased Beautiful widgets and It isn't exactly what I was looking for. Simi Clock is actually more of what I was looking for. Bummer, just waisted a couple bucks.

Beautiful widgets has many configuration options and probably 100 different skins. You can make it "exactly what your looking for".

Where is a good place to look for all the skins?
edit:
I also tried GO Launcher EX and it was terribly slow.

Is there a way to get the TouchWiz Calendar widget in a seperate apk? I have CM10 installed and like the TW calendar better than the CM one.
Think you are out of luck. The TouchWiz Stock apps made by Samsung tend to only work on TouchWiz based ROMs.
Dang, ok. I'll just have to find a similar calendar widget then.
I simply changed launchers to Nova and I really wanted that Touchwiz widget. I have yet to find one that comes close. They did a really great job with it
I've tried Nova, GO, & Apex and didn't really care for them. Maybe I just didn't give them enough time. I'm really liking CM10 but missing some of the features of TW, like the calendar widget.
Has anyone found a way to get the stock calendar and email app onto CM10? I think the stock TW versions are much better than the ones included in CM10.

Simple Calendar is a pretty great widget if you haven't already checked it out. Very customization and can even include tasks from other apps.

I like the CM10 email app. I think it works a lot quicker than the stock one... But I gotta say the stock calendar is more preferable for me.
