Did you flash the boot.img? depends if you flashed a jellybean rom it would stay on the HTC loading screen but if you updated to the latest OTA and tried to flash a rom with a previous hboot it won't work flash a rom with OTA support hope this helps

[Q] Desire won't start up - constant boot loop

My Desire won't start up anymore, it reboots after about 15 seconds. This happended after installing the latest stock ROM from HTC. I am able to reach both the bootloader (HBOOT-0.93) and the recovery (Android system recovery 3e)
When trying to install a update.zip from here, I always get a "verification failed"-message. Any tips would be highly appriciated
What update.zip are you trying to flash?
I've tried a couple of the newest ROM's from the Desire section here at XDA. Downloaded, renamed update.zip, moved to SD, went into recovery and "apply update.zip". Verification failed comes immidiately
Sounds like you're trying to flash a custom ROM using the stock recovery. You do know you have to be rooted to flash a custom ROM?
Okey, so what should I do? Flash a stock ROM? Use a costum recovery? All I want is to get the phone up and running again
Well, you said you flashed a stock ROM already. Which one did you flash?
You could try a factory reset: Turn phone on whilst holding the back button and select 'Clear Data' and then reboot the phone
I've always had stock ROM, rooted with Unrevoked. I got an OTA update earlier this week, I don't have a build number on this but It seemed to install just fine. It seems this update replaced the custom recovery with the stock recovery (?) and as mentioned, the phone doesn't boot.
Factory reset doesn't help either.
I have the same problem on mz Desire. Rooted, but when applied the latest update from HTC phone just keep on rebooting every 10 secs. any sugestion?
TNX
You shouldnt be applying any updates to a rooted phone.....
What rom were you on? 2.29.405.2 or something similar?.....
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I was on 2.10 (i think) and stock rom (no custom)
Try flashing this...
http://shipped-roms.com/download.ph...9.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_151783_signed.exe
You will need to boot your phone into fastboot (power & back button) then connect it to your PC. You should see 'fastboot usb' on the screen. Run the RUU you downloaded.
This will wipe your phone and unroot it.

tnx
going to try it out!!
will post results
when i first rooted with unrevoked, then installed opendesire, i was stuck in a similar boot loop.
the solution was to boot into the boot loader and select "clear storage".
it then booted into opendesire straight off. a bit nerve racking when you think you've just made an expensive mistake.
i hope this solves the problem for you!
@slippy
didn't work, but thanks
@mike
erased it all, but phone is alive again. thanks

Cant get back into Clockwork Recovery

Hi. i tried to install maximus new 3.2 rom and after i installed from zip and rebooted my phone, my phone is stuck on the htc logo white screen and keeps rebooting!
i tried to go back to recovery and it doesnt work now! the phone goes into a black screen then reboots again!
try in fastboot mode fastboot erase cache .
you posted in wrong section
Don't forget to reflash kernel modules incase you are using a custom kernel and if you need to reflash the recovery in fastboot make sure your battery isn't below 10% else fastboot won't allow you to flash it.

I have the same problem. The solution is simple: Flash the default recovery then re-flash the clockworkmod recovery again and then try.
You mention which rom you installed and that you flashed the zip file but don't mention that you did a wipe before this (depending on which rom you were previously on) or that you flashed the boot.img file via fastboot first.
PS! There's a section specifically for Q&A and these types of posts should go there are not to be posted in the dev section. Hopefully some kind mod will move it, but I guess you have a few answers by now.

You haven't flashed the boot.img if your phone keeps rebooting.
Also - you've posted this in the wrong section, this is a development section only.

I was running arhd and have reflashed it to stock so i was thinking it should be fine but apparently not
i also would like to say if i reflash hboot to 1.31 wouldnt that mean i have to reboot into my software to reboot?
you cant reflash with hboot 1.28 to stock AFAIK, please confirm what you are trying to do and what files you have ready to flash.
And you dont need to be in the "software" to do anything with flashing.
Okay ill give it a go so i should be able to flash to 1.31 hboot as im on the correct CID
Then re-flash recovery then reflash rom? and that should thererfore fix my problem?
As i cant boot into recovery or rom only the hboot?
Okay help again please im up to 1.31 hboot reflashed everything ect went to install maximus10 and now it starts to boot up as i unlock it everything crashes so i have Android.process has stop working and much more like htc clock ect then it crashes and phone reboots any ideas?
OK, heres what you need: Warning, you will lose all user/appdata, your SD will remain untouched
files:
1- Maximus10.zip (or whatever rom you want)
2- boot.img ,extract it from the first file
3- custom recovery.img (must be latest)
4- unlocked and updated hboot to 1.31
5- fastboot/adb files (you can get it here if you don't have it already)
Steps:
1- get into bootloader, flash custom recovery AND boot.img
2- get into recovery, wipe system AND userdata/data AND cache
3- install zip of your ROM and don't flash the tweaks until you reboot once.
4- Reboot
Done that already its not booting still :/

Did you get any errors? At any point?
Edit : If you didn't get any errors that means either you didn't follow the process properly or the files you downloaded are corrupt.

[Q] One v won't boot into recovery

I'm attempting to flash the rythmic rom onto my HTC One (CDMA) by using rom manager. However, when the process starts, and the phone is trying to boot into recovery, it hangs at the screen with red text stating that It can't be distributed etc. It won't get past this part, and I need to restart the phone in order for it to boot correctly. This issue is annoying, as I was looking forward to having a new rom installed.

Did you flash the correct recovery for your phone? Make sure you flash the CDMA version of CWM or TWRP in fastboot again to make sure you have the correct recovery installed. I recommend not flashing with rom manager at the moment. Just manually go into the recovery through the hboot screen.

[Q] Red triangle alert

Hi. Good evening.
Since few months ago, I can't get into recovery any more. Each time I try doing so, there is a red alert triangle symbol in the middle of the screen, and the phone does nothing. So, I have to come back to the boot menu and select restart, to starting it normally to the ROM.
Last time I could enter into recovery was when I was updating it to Jellybean.
I had to update the bootloader and afterwards upload the kernel+ROM, from what I remember.
Since then, I get this red alert triangle alert.
I've read that it happens when you don't have any recovery installed, and you should flash a recovery. But I had mine (ClockwordMod) otherwise I wouldn't be able to install the custom ROM.
Anyway, do you have any clue regarding this subject and my particularities?
At this moment, this is what I have:
- HTC One X
- Android 4.1.1
- ROM: ViperX 3.5.5
- Bootloader 1.39
- Kernel 3.1.10
Cheers.

Hove you flashed any other recoveries like stock? did you flash anything you normally wouldn't before the error occurred?
Well have you reflashed a custom recovery yet ? Thats the easiest thing to try

That's it. From the last time, I had to update something related to HBOOT also.

No, I haven't. I don't know if I would have issues by already having a recovery and flashing another one over.
Actually, I had also installed (from Googe Play) ROM Manager to try to flash TWRP (changing from CWM) from there. I got a message it was successfully installed but I still had got the red sign and then I stopped trying.
Rom manager is of no use, need s-off for that. Flash a custom recovery and it will override the existing one. No problem.
Flash it manually with fastboot commands
Flashed recovery manually over the existing one by that time.
Solved. Thank you.
